Learning To Interpret Your Dreams
While the exact nature and purpose of dreaming remains shrouded in mystery, science at least tells us that it is a universal experience. We all dream, most likely every night. Many people don’t remember their dreams and therefore incorrectly assume that they rarely or never dream.
Research on dreams and dreaming has shown that an estimated 95 to 99% of people experience dreams. Dreaming is most common during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, when brain activity is heightened and our eyes move about every 90 minutes throughout the night.
On average, a person may have several dreams per night, although they may not always remember them when they wake up. The frequency of dreaming can be influenced by several factors, including age, stress levels, and sleep quality.
There are many theories as to why we dream. Most believe that dreams help us consolidate memories, process emotions, solve problems, or even prepare us for tasks. However, the most important reason we dream is often downplayed or even ignored, which is that our dreams are inherently spiritual and serve a higher purpose.
The fact that our dreams are messages from the spirit realm and a higher power is unfortunately one of the most forgotten truths of ancient wisdom deeply rooted in many religious and spiritual traditions. Dreams have piqued human curiosity for thousands of years. Ancient civilizations, from the Egyptians to the Greeks, revered dreams as portals to the divine, messages from the gods, or glimpses of the future.
How Long Until Their Soul Makes Contact?
I have been asked how long it typically takes for a soul who has recently crossed over to reconnect with us from the other side. This is a particular concern for those souls who leave violently or through sudden illness, often at a young age.
I’ve found that this timeline varies from soul to soul, depending on their original soul plan, life journey, and the circumstances of their passing. It also depends, in my experience, on the belief system of the person before they returned to spirit, especially if they had no spiritual beliefs whatsoever. If they didn’t believe in anything beyond this life, there is often a much longer period of ‘debriefing’ and ‘orientation’ to their new surroundings once they arrive at the proverbial ‘pearly gates’.
Sometimes people come to me for a reading hoping to connect with a loved one who has recently died, and they are disappointed when they don’t get clear, affirming messages from the person they were hoping to connect with. Fortunately, they are often relieved when another family member or friend who has been deceased for a longer period of time comes through for them, often with a comforting message about their recently deceased loved one.
Most psychics recommend waiting a period of time after the death of a loved one before attempting to communicate with their spirit through a reading. This recommendation varies from practitioner to practitioner. Many mediums suggest waiting at least three to six months after the death of a loved one. This period allows for the initial grieving process and gives both the spirit of the deceased time to adjust to the afterlife and the living time to process their grief.
I Am Soaring Free
When I do readings for clients to help guide them through the struggles or confusion they face in their lives, I understand what they are going through. I can relate on a deeply personal level, because I have been there myself, and I have experienced more than most.
Back in 2004, I had reached a devastating point in my life where my confidence, happiness, courage and self-worth were essentially non-existent. Fortunately, I was able to overcome those challenges with the guidance of spirit, and I now know from hard-earned experience that we can overcome much adversity.
As part of this journey of growth and healing, one of my guides gave me my spiritual name: Soaring Free.
Everyone has at least three guides in their lives. There are other guides and guardians that come and go in our lives, but the primary three stay with us throughout our lives to support and guide us.
It was my main guide who gave me my spirit name in a dream. I was to be known as “Soaring Free.” When I asked what this meant, I was shown that my life was to change direction significantly and that I was to live it as if I were soaring free like an eagle every day. I received several profound messages to awaken me at that time. It brought me to a higher level of understanding (and much confusion at first) than ever before.
What was the meaning of all this, I wondered? Why did I need a new name? Were these guides coming into my life real or just my imagination? Was I losing my mind? Was I really hearing and seeing these things, or was it just my own subconscious playing tricks on me? I had many questions at the time, and so began my journey of awakening and transformation.
Embracing Spiritual Guidance When You Relocate
Relocating to a new city, state, or even country for a job opportunity, career advancement, or new business venture is a significant and transformative decision we sometimes have to make in life.
While logical and practical considerations are essential in these matters, relying on inner spiritual guidance and divine support can profoundly enhance the decision-making process.
Spiritual guidance connects us to our higher selves, ancestors, spirit guides, angels, and the divine, providing a deeper level of wisdom and certainty.
Intuitive Guidance
The first step is to quiet the mind and tune in to the subtle messages of your intuitive inner guidance. Commonly referred to as “gut feelings,” “hunches,” or our “sixth sense,” our inner guidance system is a powerful decision-making tool. This inner voice is a manifestation of our higher self that guides us toward choices that align with our true purpose and well-being.
When we align with our Higher Self, we access a reservoir of wisdom that transcends the limitations of the rational mind. So when we need to consider a great opportunity or a major life change, tuning into this inner wisdom helps us discern whether the move will serve our highest good.
Our higher self, soul or spirit, is the metaphysical part of us that is eternally connected to the Divine and has a broader perspective on our life journey and soul plan. It knows our soul’s mission and purpose in life and can guide us to make choices that serve our highest good.
Comforting Spirit Whispers From Heaven
Connecting with our loved ones in heaven is a deeply personal and spiritual experience that brings comfort and healing to many believers. Whether through dreams, signs, mediumship readings, or quiet moments of reflection, knowing that our departed loved ones are still with us in some way provides profound comfort, peace, and hope.
Signs, dreams, messages, and other forms of contact from the afterlife are essential to grieving, healing, and accepting the loss of loved ones for several psychological, emotional, and spiritual reasons.
Encounters with the deceased occur in all states of consciousness: while dreaming, while awake, in altered states of consciousness, in various circumstances, and before, during, and after death. According to a 1977 study, a significant portion of the bereaved, estimated at 40% to 50%, experience such phenomena. These experiences help maintain an ongoing sense of connection with the deceased, which can be comforting and provide a sense of a continuing relationship even after death.
Dreams, signs and mediumship can all bring a sense of peace, love, and reassurance to the bereaved, easing the emotional pain associated with loss. Receiving messages from a loved one can also provide a sense of closure or resolve unresolved feelings and unfinished business, which is essential for moving forward.
The Calling Cards Of Spirit Whispers
When I was a teenager, my father said in a very serious tone, “I want to talk to you about something important.
My immediate thought was, I hope this is not going to be a cringe-worthy talk about the birds and the bees. Please let it not be!
But fortunately it was not about the facts of life. Instead, it was an enlightening conversation about spiritualism and the afterlife.
My father told me about his conversion from atheist to spiritualist about a decade earlier. Apparently, my mother had made a bet with him about something that he had lost. According to their agreement, if he lost, he had to accompany her to a spiritualist church to attend a service.
So they went to the Spiritualist church in London one Sunday night when Joseph Benjamin, a well-known medium at the time, was scheduled to demonstrate on the platform. Benjamin was a prominent Spiritualist medium whose mediumship was highly regarded in those days.
Although my father sat all they way in the back during the service, that didn’t stop Benjamin from locating my father in the assembled crowd and delivering a profound message from my late paternal grandfather.
The message stunned my father, especially when Benjamin told him how disappointed my grandfather was that the tools he’d left him were neglected and “rusting away in the shed. And so it was that my father became an avid believer.
My Mystical Encounter With A Music Box
I go through my house at least once a year to get rid of some of the clutter. I even have a large bin labeled “donate,” and when stuff has outlived its usefulness, it goes in there.
Recently, I took some of these unwanted items to the charity thrift store they were intended for.
Whenever I go into an antique or thrift store, I immediately lower my psychic awareness and energetically shield myself as a precaution. I have to, or the energy residue and imprints in those places will wreak havoc on my auric well-being and state of mind.
Not protecting my energy and not blocking out incoming psychic impressions in such an energetically dense environment would be like hanging out at a funeral home, absorbing everyone’s sadness and grief and then taking it home with me. It is basically the psychic empath equivalent of sunbathing on the beach for hours without sunscreen!
Before I learned how to “unplug” and “shield up,” I would feel so unbalanced and completely drained afterwards that I would lie in bed for days to recharge my batteries. I would feel overwhelmed with emotional and psychic overload, which is both mentally and physically toxic. Fortunately, over the years I have learned how to protect my auric energy and “turn off” my psychic abilities to use at my discretion only when needed.
After dropping off my bags at the store, the man behind the counter went into sales mode and excitedly informed me that he had just received a ton of cool new items. His sales pitch was charming, and I decided to poke around the store for a few minutes to see what I could find. I had no intention of buying anything, and thankfully I didn’t. I didn’t need any more clutter!
