Nurturing Soul Bonds Beyond Rational Understanding
Psychology has provided us with invaluable tools for navigating life’s challenges. It helps us understand ourselves and each other, improves our communication, and builds stronger relationships. Whether we’re managing stress, boosting emotional intelligence, or making better decisions at work or at home, psychological insights guide us toward healthier, more connected lives.
However, there’s another layer to our existence that studying the mind alone can’t fully reach. While psychology breaks things down into patterns and causes, the soul deals in ongoing, heart-to-heart connections that go beyond intellectual discussion and analysis.
Psychology can explain why we feel anxious, how old wounds still affect us, and which coping strategies we tend to use. This kind of insight can spark real change.
However, understanding alone stops at the intellectual level. It doesn’t inspire the deeper truths and wisdom that make us feel truly alive and connected.
This is where ‘soul care,’ rather than analysis or therapy, offers a different path.
Rather than observing ourselves and others as case studies, soul care invites us to honor all our relationships — past, present, and future, as well as beyond this life — with warmth and continuity. It invites us to see friends, family, teachers, and deceased loved ones as conscious, eternal presences to be celebrated, not merely dissected.
From Skeptic To Mystic — My First Encounter With Spirit
In the summer of 1987, nearly a year after losing both my parents (just 23 days apart), I found myself at a mediumship event held in a Spiritualist church in Toronto.
Looking back, I can see how profoundly synchronistic the experience was. It was clearly guided by spirit.
I had never set foot in a Spiritualist church before. That very afternoon, I had lunch with a friend who casually mentioned the evening service. She couldn’t attend — she was heading out of town — but something within me stirred. Despite my skepticism, I felt an unshakable desire to go on my own.
The modest church was tucked away on the second floor of a shopping plaza above a retail store. As I climbed the steep staircase, I felt a mix of curiosity and apprehension.
The room was already crowded by the time I arrived, so I chose a seat close to the door, just in case anything bizarre or uncomfortable happened. Since I had never had a mediumship experience before, I didn’t know what to expect. I wanted an easy exit should things get too weird!
After the guest mediums were introduced, the first one stepped forward and gestured toward a man seated near the back. “May I come to you?” she asked gently. When he nodded, she remained at the front of the room and began channeling messages for him from the spirit realm.
Navigating The Sacred Journey Of Grief
As a psychic medium, I have spent decades bearing witness to the immense and complex journey of grief.
Over the years, I’ve learned that grief has many faces and forms. It is not only about death and dying. It can arise from various types of loss, such as the loss of a pet, the end of a relationship, a change in life path, the loss of a job, or moving away from a beloved home.
My clients often tell me, “My heart has a hole in it,” or “It feels like my heart has been torn apart.”
These aren’t just metaphors. Grief can feel so intense that it seems like a physical injury — like a ‘heart attack’ of the soul. Grief reverberates through our heart, mind, body, and spirit, leaving no part of us untouched.
One of the most important truths I’ve learned is that grief is deeply personal. No two people experience it in the same way. There is no “normal” way to grieve or a fixed timeline.
Some people begin to feel a little lighter after a few weeks or months, while for others, the sorrow lingers for years or even decades. And that’s okay.
Grieving means you loved deeply, cared sincerely, and connected profoundly. It is not just about saying goodbye, but also about building a new relationship with their absence — one that carries forward the love in a different way.
A Sign From Spirit, Or A Fear-Based Superstition?
My father and his extended family were very superstitious. For instance, they would never buy a car on a Friday, refused to talk about new shoes in the morning, and never left a house through the back door after entering through the front. I could go on.
These old-world beliefs were ingrained in their way of life and passed down from generation to generation like heirlooms of caution and misery. However, I never experienced any objective evidence that these beliefs were valid — until I had my own unique experience that I at first believed might have been a bad omen.
It was 1983, and I had been hoping to get a job with the local council for quite some time. Then, one day, out of the blue, I landed a contract with them! I was overjoyed. The salary was fantastic and I felt incredibly fortunate, because many people in the UK were unemployed and struggling with a recession.
That weekend, I decided to celebrate by buying a large bottle of very expensive wine. However, as I left the liquor store, the bottle slipped through my fingers and shattered on the ground.
“Oh dear,” I said to my late sister. “I hope that doesn’t mean my dreams will shatter like that! Maybe this is a sign from the universe that my new job will have a bad outcome?”
My dear sister, ever the voice of reason, assured me that it was simply an accident and not a bad omen. Still, coming from a superstitious family, I carried that thought and fear with me into the job.
In the beginning, things went relatively well. But soon, my colleagues turned out to be cruel and nasty, the boss’s secretary was a bully, my boyfriend dumped me, and my father, due to his narcissistic tendencies, kept asking whether I was truly “capable of doing the job.”
The Spiritual Significance Of 888
When the number 888 begins to show up in your life, it’s not just a coincidence — it’s a cosmic signal pulsing with divine alignment. This powerful angel number carries the vibration of harmony between the spiritual and the material — a sacred dance between higher purpose and earthly action.
When you repeatedly see the number 8 or 888 — on license plates, receipts, phone lock screens, anywhere — it is a sign that you are in sync with your higher self, spirit and the divine.
It confirms that you are developing a powerful faith in the benevolence of the universe. Trusting in this divine flow empowers you to let go of fear and scarcity thinking and proceed in the knowledge that you are always provided for.
It suggests that you are on the right path, guided and supported by unseen forces. The balance of spiritual wisdom and practical momentum in your life is creating fertile ground for manifestation.
It reminds us that when thoughts, emotions, energy, and actions flow together in unity, the universe responds in kind, opening doors, aligning events, and bringing dreams to life with what feels like effortless magic.
The number eight signals a time when you are supported by universal energies and are developing a deeper understanding of how energy moves through your life. This deepening awareness brings powerful new insights and often coincides with a phase of spiritual maturity and awakening. Continue reading →
Voice Messages From The Spirit Realm
Many years ago, during one of the psychic circle gatherings that I used to host, a loud male voice suddenly echoed from just outside the room. Everyone immediately assumed it was my husband, but he was the only one who wasn’t home at the time. We hadn’t heard the electric gate open or his truck approach.
The voice clearly said, “Hello, girls.” My immediate thought was of my father, who had frequently attended our monthly circles since his passing years earlier.
I have deep respect for experiences like this. It takes considerable energy for spirits to connect with us in such a tangible way through sound. Sound is a dense, physical vibration, one of the lowest frequencies for a spirit to manipulate. Unlike the speed and subtlety of mental, emotional, or psychic communication, external sound requires far more deliberate shaping of energy.
In order to be heard audibly, spirits must bridge a vast vibrational gap by lowering their frequency to become perceptible to our physical senses. This is why such phenomena are rare and profound, requiring effort from the spirit and heightened sensitivity, openness, and reverence from us as receivers.
After inventing the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell reportedly dedicated himself to developing a device that could capture spirits’ voices. Unfortunately, he passed away before realizing that goal. I believe he would be intrigued by the sophisticated digital instruments we now use to detect paranormal activity.
Tuning Into Spirit Guidance With A Pendulum
The pendulum is a simple yet powerful psychic tool that can greatly enhance spiritual growth and intuitive development — when used with pure intention and in alignment with the highest good of all.
In my experience, anyone can dowse using a pendulum. It doesn’t require any special skills or training — just a willingness to be open, to trust, and to practice. As with any spiritual discipline or metaphysical tool, the key is practice, practice, practice-along with a heartfelt desire to become proficient.
In the beginning, it’s important to allow yourself the grace to make mistakes. That’s how we learn.
The process of discovering how the pendulum works best for you is a very personal one. There’s no rigid standard to follow. While some books may suggest a specific way it’s “supposed to work,” I encourage you to let go of rules and expectations and allow the energy of the pendulum to express itself in the way that naturally aligns with your own vibration. This will always be the most accurate and effective method for you.
Over time, as you work consistently with your pendulum, the results become more reliable, consistent and clear. You begin to cultivate a deeper sensitivity — not just to the movement of the pendulum, but to the energy behind it.
Through ongoing experimentation and commitment, you begin to attune more deeply with your higher self, your subconscious mind, and your spirit guides. The pendulum becomes a mirror and a bridge — reflecting your inner world and connecting you to realms beyond ordinary perception.
