When I work with clients or teach courses about relationships, the first area I look at is what they truly desire in a relationship, and how they want to feel. This applies whether one hopes to attract a soulmate, or improve a current relationship. It is also necessary to know before we choose to invest more time in any partnership, or to release it.
And yes, we are all able to have what we imagine, because we were born to create these experiences. We are each valuable, for exactly who we are. We all have special talents and gifts, but because we took a body, we have value.
If you don’t have complete clarity on what you want, one easy way to get started is to write a list of what you don’t want. Then, next to each negative statement, write the opposite of what you don’t want. Read the rest of this entry »
To some individuals, being mindful while on the go might seem a contradiction in itself. However, the truth of the matter is that there are a plethora of ways to cultivate the art of mindfulness that do not involve simply sitting still.
People turn to mindfulness for many reasons. For example, they may have a medical condition that needs managing, work issues that require resolving, or just simply want to feel more present in their everyday lives. With the pace of modern life, it is clear to see why people become easily distracted and lead somewhat complicated lives as a result – all of which can be both emotionally and physically draining.
Whatever the reasons may be as to why a person turns to mindfulness, it should, indeed, help them to create a more balanced lifestyle. That said, mindfulness should not be seen as a magical cure-all, but more an efficient way of relating to personal issues differently. Read the rest of this entry »
Hope is a representative of our dreams. Hope is what keeps us going when the going gets tough. We are subjects of hope, if we allow it. So, allow hope to rule your mind. Dream a little. Allow hope to infiltrate the many ways you wish for improvement and change. Have hope that you become the you that you wish to be.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “Hope is a belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one’s life. Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.”
When impatience takes over in your life, things become off-kilter. That’s when relationships break apart; jobs become unsettling, or they become impossible to find; money starts to dissipate. And all these things just cause more impatience, and more frustration.
When I tell you that someone will come into your life in Divine timing, it simply means that when you are able to be patient and let go of the edginess, the Universe will open the door an allow something or someone better to come into your life at the right time. This is all done on Divine timing – not yours, or mine. Read the rest of this entry »
As living beings having a human and earthly experience, we are bound by natural law. Natural law is simply the order of things and one of the primary natural laws is that things unfold over time. This law represents the seasonal dynamic of life.
Many times, people will have a desire, something that they would like to experience in relationships or within their career. I am confident that our desires are meant to be fulfilled, but it is important to understand that the fulfillment of our desires unfolds over time.
Just like a garden, it is crucial for us to recognize the process by which things come into being. I want tomatoes in my garden. So, I started some tomato plants from seed. When I planted the seeds, I trusted that they were growing. This is often the first step to manifesting. We must trust that the natural order is working in our favor. Read the rest of this entry »
As we move into the last six months of the year, we should reflect on what we wanted to accomplish this year. What dreams, visions, plans did we have at the beginning of the year, and where are we in the process of manifesting what we desire most?
Many of us might not be where we imagined, and sometimes we feel like giving up when we encounter challenges. Or we may be close to achieving our goals, but need to take a new perspective and reaffirm our vision.
The following are some of my ‘wisdom questions’ I use to help me move forward around what I desire. Read the rest of this entry »
One minute you are dating the love of your life, and the next you find yourself single again. Yes, we have all been there. It is never easy when you have to go back out there again, into the dating scene, but if you want to find the love of your life you need to take a chance.
I have been dating a lot since moving to Florida. I feel like my dating life has been like a revolving door, as one guy comes in… another one goes out. My aunt said it best, “Men are like buses. When one bus leaves, another one pulls up!”
So, how does one find someone worth your time and energy in this vast morass? Dating can sometimes be like a marshy swamp, not knowing when you will hit the bottom. I have learned the following from my own dating adventures. Read the rest of this entry »
Recently a trusted friend posted on my Facebook timeline a link to the Jeremy Buck song Turn my Ship Around, from the album Vibe. I had never heard of Jeremy Buck, but I clicked it and listened. The song’s lyrics reminded me of times when I felt no one listened to my concerns, when people tried to bully me, when people tried to undermine me and were being false friends. It reminded me that through those times, I ensured I found a new direction and was determined to fulfill my goals to the best of my abilities.
The song reminds us to simply “turn our ship around” when feeling that we are heading in the wrong direction. The question however is what type of ship are you in, or steering? Perhaps a Kayak, a 12ft fishing boat with outboard motor, a 35ft cruiser or speedboat, or an oil tanker or cruise ship? What kind of ship are you commanding? Read the rest of this entry »
