Sacred Space
Have you noticed that a certain physical space can influence how we feel? How can a room affect us in this way? Well it’s all about energy. When you walk into a room and people have had a fight there, or received some awful news that may have caused great sadness, we tend to pick up on the energy. We often sense it, without really knowing why we are suddenly feeling angry, sad, or drained.
One of the scripts that I use with hypnotherapy clients is to visualize your own sacred space and then picture yourself inside that space. Just thinking about such a space, where you feel safe, happy and calm, can help to relieve anxious feelings for most people.
There are also just some spaces that seem to promote a sense of belonging and trust that everything is okay. For some people their sacred space may be a certain place in their home, while for others it is simply outside in nature. It doesn’t really matter where your sacred space is, as long as you feel good inside it.
The Energy Worker And The Air Bender
My spiritual healing work is based on pulling in energy from the Source, raising my vibration and transferring that energy to others, and the planet. I have been doing energy healings since I was a child and I have been doing it professionally for about 20 years. I am also a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor and spiritual teacher. A few months ago, I was mentoring a 15-year-old air bender. Air benders manipulate the energy of the atmosphere to help the planet, or people to heal. He had prayed for a mentor to come a few months before we talked about me mentoring him.
At the same time I started working with the young air bender, there were horrific fires in California, close to my home. Everything was chaotic. Cell phones and the Internet were not working properly, because of the fire. The air was so thick with smoke, you could barely see a few yards ahead of you.
The Spirit Of Trees
As I remember it, the house that I lived in for the first five years of my life was huge. Just a few weeks ago, I took a little trip the that very home. When I drove by, I saw it was for sale. I decided to park in the drive and walk around.
As I made my way to the backyard it was just the same as I remembered it – only much smaller! The trees in the back, dividing the neighbors yard and ours, are still there, as well as the porch that was built off the back of the house. The huge birch tree is also still out front and still alive and well. I looked in the windows and it all seemed pretty much as I remembered it. I have wonderful memories of that home.
I remember growing up around lot of trees and thinking how they were my friends. Trees are indeed our friends. They are a wonderful gift to this planet. Sometimes we sit under them and read a book, take a nap, climb them. And we cut them down and make paper and all kind of things with them, homes, and so forth.
Chiron Retrograde Can Heal The Empath
There is much talk lately regarding astrological retrogrades and the seven planets involved, including Mercury, Mars, Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Jupiter. The fact that some of this energy will be around until next year, led me to reading up on the potential negative effects, but also the metaphysical power of the retrogrades.
As an empath, I am particularly drawn to Chiron, a planet about which I was woefully uniformed in the past. If you are an empath (even if you are usually not paying close attention) it is worthwhile looking in into the role of this planet in your everyday life.
Apparently Chiron was named after a centaur Chiron from Greek mythology. Chiron is known as the wounded healer in astrology or metaphysics. He was the god of healing… but was unable to heal himself. He is epitomized by the concept of ‘healer heal thyself.’
Introduction To The Chakras
The chakras are energy vortexes or wheels of energy located throughout the body. They inter-penetrate our subtle energy body and weave together with the layers of our auric field. The word chakra originates from ancient Sanskrit and it basically means ‘spinning wheel.’
There are seven main chakras and each are associated with one of the spectrum colors. Each chakra color is a natural etheric light that shine from within us, and I like to think of them as the colors of the rainbow. Each chakra regulates certain organs in the body, and also governs certain areas of our life.
Just like everything else that needs cleansing, like our houses and cars, our chakras also need clearing and purification, so they can spin and shine at optimal frequencies.
A Spiritual Approach To Chronic Complainers
Don’t complain, don’t ever complain. These are words I read in a book long ago, and they have stuck in my mind ever since. However, I certainly seem to have attracted a lot of complainers into my life – moaners and critics who have taken the very process to an art form! Amongst these individuals are family, friends and love relationships, and they are all challenging in their own way.
I have come to the conclusion that the lesson those souls have given me, is to rise above the irritation, and perhaps to try and see their predicament and unhappiness from a place of compassion. I have since managed to become less affected by other people’s groaning, because I stopped thinking that their displeasure might be my fault, or that I could ‘fix’ them and turn them from a ‘cup-half-empty’ type of person to a ‘cup-half full.’
When The Empath Becomes An Energy Sponge
I just completed a psychic reading for a long-standing client who is a successful teacher, as well as an empath and psychic in her own right. Despite being highly intuitive and, under normal circumstances, able to make good decisions based on her gut feeling, she was feeling totally at a loss, and in limbo concerning her current circumstances.
She asked me for guidance as to what could be happening to her, because even though her situation is not dire, she described herself as feeling like “a sponge that cannot not absorb any more.” She was feeling no sense of creativity or inspiration, nor any initiative to get the ball rolling for a future move for herself and her family. The Tarot’s Hangman card defines how she felt, as if she was just dangling and not getting anywhere fast.
Both she and her husband had made a big geographical move a few years ago, with the well-being of their children in mind. She was beating herself up, because she also felt responsible for every circumstance her family was experiencing, including her 17 year old daughter, who hasn’t quite yet identified her future career niche. Of course, the additional negative energy of guilt was holding her even more in limbo. To top it all, the schooling of her children and work of her husband requires that she lives and teaches remotely, with a several hours commute away from them, so they can only come together as a family once a fortnight. More guilt! Continue reading
