The only thing you really need is a timer, as well as a partner, or mirror if you are gazing by yourself.

Typically, I encourage people to start gazing for just a few minutes at a time, but as you become more comfortable you can certainly increase the length of your gazes.

According to Dr. Brent Bauer of the Mayo Clinic, some studies have shown that aromatherapy might also have health benefits, including relief from anxiety and depression, improved quality of life, particularly for people with chronic health conditions, as well as improved sleep.

But I believe it is important to use only good quality oils. There are several ways the oils are extracted from the plant. Distillation and expression create the purest form of oil, which is the kind of the essential oils I prefer to use for health purposes. Other ways are infusion and extraction which create perfume oils, the ones you can buy in any store that also sells perfumed candles and related products. These can used as room deodorizers, but not for treatments.

Furthermore, not all oils are created equally. Most are easy to use, but some can be too strong and must first be diluted with other ingredients before it can be used. Some oils are simply too toxic and should never be applied directly to the skin. Before using any oil, please do some research online or talk with someone knowledgeable who can advise you.

Diffusion Methods

Light bulb rings. I recommend the ceramic ones, the metals in the brass rings aren’t good for the lungs, no matter how safe they seem to be, plus they’re harder to clean. The biggest advantage in using a ring is that the oils fill the room quickly. The biggest disadvantage is that it needs to be placed on a traditional rounded top bulb, but in my house I have energy efficient bulbs, which have a twisted shape.

The dream state is also a time when we are free to explore and find new inspiration. We are in a world of our own making that belongs to only us. And the possibilities are truly endless; even time travel, prophetic dreams, loved ones coming to visit.

In the Harry Potter book The Prisoner of Azkaban, Dumbledore tells Snape not to wake Harry: “Let him sleep. For in dreams, we enter a world that is entirely our own. Let him swim in the deepest ocean or glide over the highest cloud.”

I’m a bit of a technology nerd, so that makes sleeping and dreaming even more of adventure. There are many cool technologies available these days to improve our sleep time. There are watches and other devices to create a record of not only time slept, but even quality of sleep, heart rate and other interesting facts. There are also amazing phone apps streaming sleep meditations and white noise.

I keep a journal to write down my dreams before I rise, and I also to jot down before I fall asleep those questions and life challenges I need answers for. It has further been my experience that you can even reach out in your dreams to loved ones who have passed for advice or guidance, especially if they had a passion for something you need help with.

Telepathy Can Be Child’s Play!

Have you ever  thought of someone who is many miles away, and all of a sudden the phones rings and the call is from that person who you where thinking about? At one time or another we all experience telepathy in some way.

When I was a boy, my older brother Mike and I would try to read each other’s minds using telepathic communication. We would try to sense what kind of ice cream the other would like to have. One would be the sender and the other the receiver.

My brother and I did our little experiment with an open mind and a non-judgmental attitude. It helped that we were growing up in a psychic-friendly family who lived in a real haunted house. Trust me you need an open mind and attitude to do that! We gave it a hundred percent effort, even with the many household distractions around us. It was summer time, but we would use our winter ear muffs to block any noise that might get in the way.

One of the biggest challenges for me was to learn to relax physically. It was difficult at first, but I soon learned to overcome it, mostly by breathing deeply. Eventually, when I was completely calm and relaxed, I was be ready. Then I would shut my eyes  clear my mind and try to visualize what the object might be that my brother was be thinking of. We used my mother’s egg timer to make sure we would not overdo it.

Telepathic connection is believed to be stronger between family members than strangers, especially between mothers and children, and siblings, especially twins.  For example, in 1942 zoologist and geneticist Horatio Newman published a book titled Twins and Super-Twins, in which he cites several examples of telepathy between twins.

Taking Time Out On Life’s Park Bench

As I approached the bench, I noticed he was smiling and writing on a manila notepad. I sat down on the next bench to enjoy the sounds of the wind, and the birds, and the barking of a dog playing nearby with a little boy.

The gentleman introduced himself and we began talking. I asked him what he was so furiously writing about in his notepad?

“Life,” he said and smiled.

I obviously had a puzzled look on my face and he laughed. I asked what was so funny? He answered with a puzzling question.

“Well, what does the word ‘life’ mean to you?”

We then began a very pleasant philosophical conversation about metaphysics. I confided that I was in fact a psychic and we talked about energy, manifesting, meditation, and psychic phenomena.

At one point he asked me how I handle crossroads or major decisions in my life? Now it was my turn to laugh. He cocked his head and seemed curious as to my reaction.

“Well, we all deal with life changes and crossroads differently,” I said, “but since you are writing about ‘life’ on your notepad, I suspect you’re busy making a list of all the pros and cons of the dilemma or life choice you’re currently facing?”

“Yes,” he admitted. “That’s exactly what I’m doing.”

Do what you can to relax so you can access those two important aspects of decision making: the problem-solving mind, and your inner guidance.

Tune Into Your Inner Wisdom

Once you have calmed down the physiological stress response you are ready to ‘tune in.’ A great way to do this is to take a deep breath and call upon the wise part of you that already knows the answer to every challenging situation.

Go within and ask that you be shown the path that is the highest and best for all involved and be open to the answers you receive. These can come immediately, or over the next few days. Pay attention and see what signs you see in the form of overheard conversations, billboards, songs on the radio, angel numbers, dreams, gut feelings, and so forth. These are many ways spirit communicates messages to us, so keep an open mind and be aware.
