My favorite summer activities include dipping my toes in a nearby lake or ocean, feeling the healing energy of the natural quartz sand against my skin, and finding renewal in the essence of the season.

Too often we move through our days and weeks completely engulfed in work, and the chatter of the bustling world. Our lives tend to be caught up in the motion of the world, with little time for self-care and centering.

Many of us awake in the mornings to the national news that often leaves us drained even before our day begins. We shower, have breakfast, down a cup of coffee, and anxiously show up for our families and our careers.

Many hours later, we return to our homes, where we are met with even more news via network and cable outlets, competing with their own spin on identical breaking stories. We reach for our smart phones or laptops and headlines scroll across our screens. When is enough truly enough?

In light of the endless social and environmental concerns permeating our planet, our species is globally experiencing stress like never before. But surely the Divine Presence within our amazing Universe would not leave us stranded on Planet Earth without the tools to transcend stress and what seems like utter chaos.

How To Slow Down Time

click here for a free psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comWe live in a world today where we are constantly being challenged to get everything done as a matter of urgency. We have to check every item on our ‘to-do lists’ by a specific deadline, which leads to stress overload and energy depletion.

The pressure to constantly perform drains our energy, which ultimately leads to exhaustion, depression, irritability and even ill health. It also negatively impacts our day-to-day interactions with others. And from personal experience, you can’t truly enjoy any task or moment when you’re always in a rush, or living only for the future.

Let me remind you today that it’s okay to sometimes ‘press pause’ for a moment and allow life to just flow in its own time, without getting frustrated or stressed. Inner peace comes from surrendering time to the Universe and finding a routine that works for your unique needs. Here are some ways you can slow down time and help you live in the present:

Breathing – Get involved in a form of exercise that encourages you to breathe deeply, like Yoga, Qigong, and even strength training.

Disconnect – Logout from the internet and social media on a regular basis.

Recreation – Go for a walk in the woods, sit by water or find a beautiful landscape that you find calming. Use your hands to make something with food or art materials. Continue reading

Restoring My Energy Balance In A New Way

This required us to have contractors invade our normally very peaceful, secluded home. The repairs were such that it required the workers to have access to both the exterior and interior of our home.

Although we were both grateful for the fact that we have great home owners insurance, and that all the repairs were going to be completed with minimal expense on our part, we also were faced with the reality that our life as we knew it was going to be temporarily disrupted.

We had numerous people in and out of our home. Activity was everywhere in the house, and although our home is large there was not one room that did not require some kind of repair. This meant I had no private space to myself anymore. I had nowhere to escape to and clear my energy.

Reminding myself that it was only temporary, and that I could handle the lack of privacy I had become so accustomed to, I tried to adapt. I started doing my mediation early in the morning, before the workers arrived, and I routinely smudged the entire home with sage. I also started spending less time at home, as to not be in anyone’s way.

All the while I tried to convince myself that I was fine. I was also doing the energy work I needed to do to ensure none of the energy that was brought into my home by so many strangers would leave an imprint or attach itself to me. But about a month into this three month ordeal, I found myself getting very depressed. Step Back And Let The Magic Happen

Finding Inner Peace

Breathing

Stay with your breathing. Stop paying attention to your thoughts and just focus on your breath. Do not try to control or slow it down, just feel it coming in and out. If you can, become especially aware of the moment when it changes from inspiration to expiration, and vice versa. This will bring a feeling of openness and clarity.

Visualization

Sit for a moment and visualize a white light in your heart. See this light grow with each breath, until you are inside a white light bubble. Now this is the important part: allow your body, your whole body, to dissolve in this white light for just a minute or two. After that allow the white light to recede into your heart. This releases a lot of tension from the body and clears the mind.

Friends interject their opinions without all the facts. Disagreements become exacerbated in the resulting spotlight. Politics can be polarizing. Stress levels are through the roof. Road rage is no longer an isolated incident. You can feel surrounded by potential conversational landmines.

At times like this, it is important to step back, take a breath and take a break. Come back to the issue with fresh eyes and determine whether it is truly worthy of consideration and comment, or whether it is a tempest in a teapot that will pass on its own. If necessary, deal with the issue using logic and forethought, rather than high emotion.

In times of stress, seeing the lighthearted side of anything can seem difficult, if not altogether impossible. However, there are some ways that you can soften the impact.

If you can come to terms with the idea of worrying only about those things you can really control and take the necessary action to control them, it will make it much easier to compartmentalize and to choose where to focus your thoughts and resources.

Meditation Is Much Easier Than You Think!

All the major religions practice some form of meditation. However, meditation itself is not just a religious practice. The good news is, if you practice religion, meditation is a tool you can use. If you are non-religious, meditation is also a tool you can use.

So, why don’t more people meditate? Because they have a misconception about what meditation is, and how to do it. Many people think meditation means sitting in a lotus position while chanting, and not having a thought at all in your mind. While sitting in a lotus position and chanting is one way to meditate, it is not the only way. Furthermore, having no thoughts in your mind at all for an extended period is in fact not possible.

Meditation is about relaxation, attention, and focus. It is about recognizing the smallness that we and our problems are in the grand scheme of things, and conversely, remembering the infinite greatness that is our energetic being, as well as the Infinite Greatness we are a part of. This can be done in many ways.
