Throwing The Bones

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comBefore studying various Western disciplines of healing and divination, I trained to become a sangoma some 30 years ago, on the borders of Mozambique and Kwazulu-Natal in Southern Africa, where I learned among other things the divination method known as ‘throwing the bones.’

A ‘sangoma’ casting the bones is the African equivalent of the Native American shaman, the Old Norse rune reader, or the European Tarot reader. To uninformed Westerners, indigenous African methods of divination are often thought of as ‘witchcraft,’ but just like there is good and bad in all cultures and professions, the true calling of the African diviner or shaman is a spiritual one of seeking advice through the wise ancestors. In the same way modern Western diviners rely on spirit guides, angels or the ascended masters for divine guidance, so the African diviner relies upon the ancestors.

My training came about after I consulted another sangoma and was told it was my calling to become sangoma myself. She also cautioned me that until I took up this calling, I would repetitively become ill – and how right she was!

Eventually I heeded the ‘calling’, as unusual as it was at the time for a young English woman to enter the mysterious realm of African mysticism in the country in those days. Training was harsh and intense with my mentor and included coaching in various disciplines, such as divination, dream interpretation, ritual,  indigenous medicines, and herbalism over a two and a half year period.

One of the divination methods I was taught is known as ‘throwing the bones’. Since the beginning of recorded history the notion of throwing tokens, casting the dice or drawing lots to interpret the divine will of spirit and the ancestors has been viewed as symbolically linking the diviner to his or her mission. Casting or throwing the bones is an ancient practice native to many regions of the world, including Africa, Asia, and North America. In Southern Africa it is a long-standing ritual among the sangomas of the Zulu, Swazi, Xhosa and Ndebele tribes.

Each bone or token used for casting is part of a kit the sangoma carefully selects with the guidance of spirit, initially with the help of a mentor. Spirit and the ancestors instruct the seeker as to the symbolism and meaning of each sacred item in the collection, and precisely shows the student where to find it and which one to use in a divination. In Southern Africa, a mentor assists the thwasa (trainee sangoma) in the process of learning to receive information from the bones, and in reading the patterns in which the bones are likely to fall.

Music Reaches Beyond The Grave

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comCan the dearly departed hear our music? Can we communicate with the other side through music? I am sure this is possible, as I have personally experienced evidence of it. Music can indeed influence the energy of a spirit or ghost.

When I was a little boy, my mother would always play the hymn Onward Christian Soldiers for us on Sundays, because we were still too young to go to church. Before she passed away she asked to visit her grave site every year on her birthday and play that song for her and I have been doing this every year since her departure from this life.

In those days my dad would go to church alone, while mom stayed home with us. But he was not as much into Christian music and hymns as my mother was. He was putting in many long hours as a fire fighter for the city of Columbus, Ohio, and he usually had hard time keeping his eyes open during services. The only real reason he went to church was to make my mother happy.

Dad did however enjoy the music played by the marching band before every Ohio State football game. We would have to listen to the music with him and it seemed like ‘forever’ for us kids. But we had no choice. The Ohio State marching band are after all the pride of the Buckeyes!

In those days my dad still owned an old-fashioned record player with a needle and a pressed vinyl record. His wish was that once he was no longer with us someday we would rememeber him by playing that very same marching band music. After he passed away, we had a major problem finding and ultimately playing that old vinyl recording, so we had to buy a CD recording instead. But were able to fulfill his wish.

The True Tale Of The Praying Hands

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comBack in the fifteenth century, in a tiny village near Nuremberg, lived a family with 18 children. Yes, eighteen! In order to keep food on the table for this mob, the father and head of the household, a goldsmith by profession, worked almost 18 hours a day at his trade, as well as any other paying chore he could find in the neighborhood.

Despite their  seemingly hopeless condition Albrecht and Albert, two of the older children, had a dream. They both wanted to pursue their talent for art, but they were fully aware of the fact that their father would never be financially able to send either of them to the art academy.

After many long discussions at night, in their crowded bed, the two boys finally worked out a pact. They would toss a coin. The loser would go down into the nearby mines and, with his earnings, support his brother who would attended the academy.

Then, after four years, when the brother who won the coin toss completed his studies, he would in turn support the mining brother to also attend the academy – either with sales of his artwork or, if necessary, also by laboring in the mines.

They tossed a coin on a Sunday morning. Albrecht Durer won the toss and went off to Nuremberg to study art. Albert went down into the dangerous mines, and for the next four years financed his brother whose creative work at the academy was an almost immediate sensation. Albrecht’s etchings, his woodcuts, and his oils were far better than those of most of his fellow students and even those of his professors, and by the time he graduated, he was beginning to earn considerable fees for his commissioned works.

When the young artist returned to his village, the Durer family held a festive dinner on their lawn to celebrate Albrecht’s triumphant homecoming. After a long and memorable meal, punctuated with music and laughter, Albrecht rose from his honored position at the head of the table to drink a toast to his beloved brother for the years of sacrifice that had enabled him to fulfill his ambition. His closing words were: “And now, Albert, blessed brother of mine, now it is your turn. Now you can go to Nuremberg to pursue your dream, and I will take care of you.”

Astrology Forecast September 20 – 26, 2021

Click Here now FOR a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comThree major astrological events impact our heavens this week, beginning with today’s Pisces Full Moon, also known as the Harvest Moon. This Moon marks the completion of a cycle and a time to reap what we have sown, as well as the opportunity to release the past once and for all.

On Wednesday, the Sun will move into Libra and mark the start of a new season: autumn in the northern hemisphere and spring in the southern hemisphere. With the Sun in Libra for the next four weeks, a sense of inner peace and balance will accompany all we do. As the sign that rules partnerships, love relationships, beauty, and harmony, we’ll gravitate to the things that make our hearts sing!

It might be challenging to get much done this week, until the Moon moves into Taurus on Thursday, but we’ll be able to make up for lost time under this grounding sign.

Mercury will go retrograde again on Sunday, and with the Moon in Gemini on the same day (a sign Mercury rules) we may find it impossible to make up our minds or figure out what action to take next. Remember, when in doubt, do nothing!

As always, Mercury retrograde may be causing digital problems and electrical glitches, as well as miscommunication, lost emails and misconstrued text messages, so be vigilant when you go online and be sure back up any information you simply can’t afford to lose. During this time read the small print with great care and be more cautious when signing anything, especially important contracts. Expect delays and booking issues if you have to travel and where possible postpone your trip until Mercury turns direct on June 22nd. Most of all, practice patience when glitches or setbacks do show up as they do have a purpose and are designed to get your attention and increase awareness.

Technology Does Not Make Love Any Easier

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comI have personally found over many years of falling in love myself and having been in both good and bad relationships, as well as doing love and relationship readings for thousands of clients all over the world, that romantic love is more about personal soul growth, spiritual evolution and enlightenment than anything else. I find that only once we have learned certain life lessons and spiritual insights, especially with regards self-love, are we truly ready and able to love others unconditionally. Only then you can truly love someone one else, and have them love you equally in return. When this finally happens it is a lovely thing indeed, but in today’s world it is becoming be a rare thing.

Having a tight-knit, loving family or a lasting romantic relationship has become almost ‘abnormal’ in our modern world. In my view technology has been hindering us more than it is helping. The many social media platforms and dating apps we use these days has made love and romance even more complicated. These social networking sites have also created many new problems in long-term relationships and marriages, and I have witnessed it destroying many good relationships.

For example, too many of folks are curious about their ex-partners, because they now have more access to ‘stalking’ others. Some even want to reunite with their ex, who has married someone else in the meantime. Social media offers them an easy way to renew contact and often leads to trouble. Don’t get me wrong, technology is a great thing if used properly, but sometimes it can be also be too convenient and intrusive in other people’s lives.

Think Twice Before You Act

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comI often meditate to cleanse myself of residual psychic energy accumulated after a challenging week or two, or even after a long day of doing many psychic readings. When a psychic reads for someone they are not only reading for that one person, but also for everyone involved in a particular situation or in the client’s thought process. Thus, after doing several readings a day you can imagine the energy build-up!

During these cleansing sessions I tend to contemplate the highlights and low points of the day. The same questions usually come up for me. Why do some choose not to listen? Why do some people insist on only hearing what they wish to hear? Why do some folks ask for guidance when they don’t truly care about what Spirit has to say? Why does someone choose to get a reading, only to hear what they want to hear and not truly listen to what the psychic or medium is conveying to them? I have yet to receive the answers to these questions, either from Spirit or from any living person.

Sadly, this lack of openness to spiritual messages even goes as far as the client trying to lead the reader into answering very private questions about another person they hardly even know. They may have just met this person or they may have crossed paths for one brief instant. Why wouldn’t they allow that magic to just develop naturally, as opposed to prying into a person’s personal life to try and find out all about them? You lose something inherently personal when you do this: your mind!

If Spirit recommends that you allow a little time to pass, before contacting the new person in your life, why would your immediately begin to text or direct message that person? I’m not sure why anyone would do this to themselves? I’ve seen so many instances of people impatiently doing what they shouldn’t be doing, thereby bringing suspicion or tension into a romance that has barely had any time to grow or bloom – much less take root.

To Hate Is A Self-Destructive Choice

Click Here NOW for a FREE psychic reading at PsychicAccess.comWhen I was in middle school, around the age of 13 or so, I remember an older, more popular girl used to constantly bully me. I also remember coming home from school and telling my mother about it. I told my mother that I hated that girl, but she very sternly said, “Oh no, you don’t hate anyone!”

I defiantly replied, “Oh yes, I do!”

My mother then patiently replied, “Okay, well if you are going to insist on hating her, please go and do it somewhere else, young lady. I do not want to hear about it anymore!”

She never explained to me why she felt it was inappropriate for me to hate anyone. I didn’t figure this out until much later in my life.

My own daughter is now also a teenager and she sometimes comes home from school with similar complaints. A girl at school has been spreading false rumors about her. Just like I did all those years ago, my daughter also told me how she hated this girl. And I replied the same way my mother did, except I also explained that hate only breeds more hate.

To hate someone or something only hurts you, no one else. My daughter hating this person she feels has wronged her, will only cause her to hurt herself more with negative emotion, every time she thinks about this person. Every time she tells a friend or family member about this girl, she will be refueling her own negative fire. Thus, she will only end up hurting herself more.

The other girl does not feel every occasion my daughter is upset, or reliving the hurtful situation that occurred. In reality, my daughter is punishing herself every time she thinks about how this person wronged her. This is what we all tend to do, when we find ourselves in similar or hurtful situations.
