Clients sometimes call me regarding their own, or a loved one’s depression. Of course, I am not a medical practitioner and as a matter of course I always recommend that the caller seeks professional advice. Lately, one cannot help but notice the media attention that mental health issues are being given here in Europe. Today, more than ever, with access to the Internet and social media, we are continually exposed to every health expert, fashionista and spiritual guru out there, as well as anyone who believe they can tell us how to decorate our homes, where we should eat when we dine out, how to find a soulmate, and what is the best food for our pets. The list goes on.
How To Avoid The Sunday Blues
I am sure you can easily picture the following scene. Your weekend has been somewhat action-packed. You have had your night out with friends, been for a meal with the family, and perhaps had a couple of hours at the gym on Saturday morning. The weekend was awesome, until Sunday evening arrives. Then your mind turns to what the week ahead could have in store for you…and your mood suddenly change for the worse.
If you suffer from what is known as the ‘Sunday blues,’ then it is essential you look at what you can do, from a practical point of view, to make the first day of the week far better than you may currently be experiencing it.

Your Self-Imposed Prison Of Thought
You reap what you sow. As a man thinketh, so he is. You are what you eat. Create a vision board, hold that thought and see your goal come to fruition. What we think is what we manifest.
These are probably some of the most common and regularly used phrases to redesign and renovate the thoughts and movements of our lives. They work for some people, when placed in the scope of their reality. But why work only for some and not for others?
The answer I received from spirit was odd, to say the least: “One thousand times in his head he is in a big, famous prison.” This is what was related to me in my sleep state and Spirit must have felt it was of some importance, because they chose to wake me from a sound sleep in order to hear the message clearly… and resoundingly.
My first thought was: what on earth is this? What could it possibly mean? Then, as I delved into it further, I could discovered the true meaning.
The only famous prison I am personally aware of is Alcatraz. Just saying that name sends shudders to many people who have actually visited the place.
Next I thought of a human being found guilty of a crime and then have the most severe punishment handed out, of being sent to that dreadful place. I can only imagine what that must be like: locked up for an indeterminate amount of time, no freedom, and only periodically getting out for a breather. The Importance Of Remaining Focused
From the very start of working in the psychic field, my spirit guides taught me that if we are positive, proactive and focused, the Universe will deliver! As true as I have found this to be, it can, I have to admit, be somewhat easier said than done.
We are now well into 2018 and how many of us, including myself, have stuck to those New Year’s resolutions – whatever they may have been? Did the kids catch a cold and need additional care as a result, or maybe the car broke down or the demands of work get in the way of things? Healing The Spirit
Imagine a vehicle created today that will not only be able to assess, from an inner guidance system, any damage done to it at a given time, but also have the wherewithal to be able to make all the appropriate repairs by itself. We would most likely be lined up in droves to witness this immaculate event, because more than likely we would not trust that this could be true. We would have to experience for ourselves if it truly possible.
Do you remember, as a little kid, falling and skinning your knee? What did you do at the time? Did you just have mom clean it off, allow a scab to cover it, which is your body’s natural way of saying, “Let me put this protective coating on to make sure there is no further damage.” And then all you had to do was just let your knee recover and heal by itself, with no further help from anyone or anything, because your body knows inherently what to do. Does Your Life Own You?
Addressing our desires, needs, goals and actions is imperative as we go through life. Ideally this happens on a regular and consistent basis. Yet, life sometimes has the uncanny ability to delay our well-defined plans, or simply start it without us. It can also unexpectedly speed up our plans.
If you reflect on your current life status, are there aspects of it that make you cringe a little? Is your career, financial health, relationship, or family life in a space where you are just ‘getting by.’ Are you living month to month on your paycheck? Stuck in a stagnant relationship? Do you hate your job? Feeling overwhelmed?
If such feelings are prevalent, then it indicates that your life owns you, instead of you owning your life. Your life owns you when your everyday routine consists mostly of elements of necessity, not of desirous choice.
There is no doubt that modern society has burdened us with the pressures to succeed, to pay the bills, to live where we live. Navigating the meandering river of our material needs occupies much space in our mind. My brain hurts! Continue reading
