We are all born with an innate intuitive ability. However, many of us tend to shut down this innate aspect of our inner being at a young age.
This can happen for a variety of reasons, but fear is often a major factor. Over time, many of us learn to view our intuition as our mind “playing tricks” or something to be wary of, or even as a source of discomfort that is just all in our imagination.
This misconception is unfortunate because intuition is not something to be feared or dismissed; rather, it is an integral part of our being that provides valuable insight and guidance.
Intuition is a fundamental part of living a full and complete life because it is a key part of our spiritual inner guidance. It cannot be lost or taken away. You are always in control of it and can choose to connect with it at any time.
The key to accessing and making the most of this inner wisdom is learning to trust its messages. But this can be challenging, especially when those messages are unclear or confusing. So, how do you cultivate greater trust in your intuition?
The first step in building trust with your intuition is to acknowledge and track the information it provides. Keep a journal or note-taking app handy and write down any intuitive insights you receive about your plans, goals, people, or situations. By recording these insights, you create a space for learning to understand how your intuition works and for validating your impressions over time.

Despite these differences, the underlying idea is that there is a higher, more enlightened aspect of our being that we can connect with and embody.

Yet despite the common use of this term in modern spiritual communities and teachings, there remains a great deal of confusion and variation in how the higher self is understood and interpreted. There are many different opinions and beliefs. Some see it as our inner connection to the divine or universal consciousness. Others see it as the true spiritual essence, free from the limitations of the human ego. And some simply see it as an alternative term for our eternal spirit or soul identity.
In my experience, most of the confusion and misunderstanding arises because the higher self is mistakenly seen as a distinct and separate entity from the soul or spirit. From this perspective, the higher self is seen as entirely separate from our soul, representing our connection to something greater than ourselves, to the divine or universal consciousness.
How To Support The Awakening Psychic
Guiding and supporting someone through their psychic awakening and development process can be quite a challenge, as the way different people receive their messages from spirit can be unusual and unexpected, even to the awakening psychic themselves.
Over the years, I’ve learned that psychic ability is highly individual and different for each person, and that everyone’s path of development is unique.

It takes patience, understanding, and a deep commitment to help nurture their growth, but it is very, very gratifying to empower and help others to step into their full potential as lightworkers, wayshowers, channels, and healers.

Synchronistic Intuitions Are Tiny Moments Of Magic
For the intuitively aware person, there are no “coincidences” in life. We know from experience that events and circumstances that may appear to be random are, in fact, always meaningful occurrences. Every seemingly random encounter, twist of fate, or unexpected turn of events always carries a deeper meaning, a guiding message, or divine inspiration.
For those who walk the path of spiritual awareness, there is no such thing as “chance.” There are only moments of serendipity or synchronicity when we receive guidance or healing messages from Spirit, find ourselves protected by divine interventions, or experience the manifestation of our desired outcomes.
Where others see only randomness or chance, we witness the universe whispering its secrets in the language of signs, symbols and miracles.
One of the simplest examples of this is when we suddenly think of someone with whom we have not had contact for a long time, and soon afterward they call or text us, or we run into them in a public place. If we have a strong connection with someone, it is even more likely that we will run into them all the time. When we have a meaningful energy connection with someone, for whatever reason, it will always draw us to the same time and place as that person. It could be a restaurant, the movies, or even coming to the same intersection in our vehicles. Somehow you always end up in the same place at the same time.
My First Foray Into Ribbon Psychometry
Like “riding a bicycle,” spiritual knowledge and skills, once learned, are never lost or forgotten. Even if you haven’t practiced or used a certain skill for a long time, you can always quickly pick it up again because it is stored in your soul memory.
There is a certain degree of permanence in spiritual growth and learning. Spiritual learning is very different from the acquisition of academic knowledge or vocational skills. Soul growth and spiritual development flows from deeply personal experiences, profound moments of insight, and personal transformations that forever change our soul essence at a fundamental level.
Our soul memory is essentially the memory bank of our higher self. It is like stored layers of enlightenment or the akashic records that preserve all of our acquired spiritual wisdom and abilities, making them readily accessible after periods or even lifetimes of non-use or neglect.
I was reminded of this fact at a recent mediumship event I attended where a medium demonstrated some of the psychic techniques and methods she had relied on in her own psychic development journey.
