Generally people are mostly familiar with conventional hypnosis, the kind which conjures up images of advertisements for weight loss and to stop smoking, as well as the entertainment version of volunteers running around on stage, performing all manner of antics. Addiction And The Calling
If my spiritual calling was masked by addiction once upon time, how many other people could also be masking their calling with such escapism?
As a recovering alcoholic, addictive behavior is something I know all too well – together with the co-dependency behavior that inevitably surrounds the addict. I actually credit my experience with alcohol, and the realization that there is no escape that way, as leading up to me heeding my calling. My life purpose was to work for spirit, and any time not being in touch with that calling left a huge void, or ‘hole in my soul’ type of feeling within me.
My initial training into the mystical was in the African tradition, whereby one is selected by the ancestors and called to the task of healer, priest, counselor and diviner. Everything Changes, Or Does It?
Nature always inspires me to think deep thoughts. I often find myself really pondering things that maybe I wouldn’t have, had I not taken a moment to stop and look out my window.
I was thinking about the changing of the seasons today. Change is all around us constantly.
Consider what we hear daily. We say things like “nothing stays the same” and “it’s a change for the better”, or “change is inevitable”. There is also the popular phrase “don’t be afraid of change”. 2011: Doom, Gloom And Celebrity Gossip
The year 2011 has kicked off with yet another batch of psychic predictions from all over the globe. It has become an annual tradition to predict as much doom and gloom as possible, and this year the custom was once again upheld with much enthusiasm and zeal.
The usual depressing prophecies and upcoming disasters were numerous this year, coupled with some mindless trivia about celebrities and movie stars. Why? Because bad news and gossip sells. It is what most people like to hear and it is what most people like to fear. Scientific studies have shown that people prefer bad news in the media. They find it more interesting, respond to it more often and remember it much longer. They also pass the news on to others at a much faster rate. Aura Colors Come From The Chakras
I remember going to church as a child and the pastor would be up there preaching. I would see the outline of a red aura around his body, because of the high level of spiritual energy his body was producing.
The meaning of aura colors are numerous and variable. These colors originate from the seven chakras of the human body system.
The first aura color is red. It stems from the root chakra and it symbolizes passion, healing, love and creativity.
The next color of the aura is yellow. This color attributes happiness, creativity and promotes clarity of thought. Next up is green, which symbolizes luck, envy, healing and prosperity.
The color blue is significant, because it indicates inspiration, inner peace and spirituality. It is a very strong spiritual connectivity color. Continue reading
The Purpose of Purpose
Too often we go through life asking ourselves what our ‘purpose’ is. Why are we here, what are we meant to do? If we get far enough into this thought process, the next question is usually: how do I get to there from here?
The purpose of purpose is really very simple. We were born to be the best version of ourselves that we can possibly be. What that means for each individual is unique to each person.
It boils down to being content in our own skin. That is, of course, easier said than done – even for the most highly evolved and spiritual people. In fact it can be harder, because for those who walk the path close to Spirit the path is never an easy one.
There is one aspect of purpose that remains true, regardless of who you are. One must never use purpose for your own purpose. Yes, check your motives. Why do you do what you do? Why do you think you need what you need? The truth is most people look to others for their self-worth; they look to others to validate their own existence. Continue reading
