The Nadi Leaves, also known as Nadi Astrology or Palm Leaf Astrology, are ancient texts found primarily in South India, specifically in the state of Tamil Nadu. They are believed to contain the pre-written life stories and destinies of millions of individuals, inscribed thousands of years ago.
According to tradition, these prophetic records were created by the Saptarishis (Seven Sages) like Agastya, Bhrigu, and Vashistha, who used their yogic powers to foresee the past, present, and future of humanity. The Sages are said to have recorded these destinies out of compassion for future generations.
Originally, the Nadi Leaves were archived in Hindu temple libraries, especially in South India. These sacred texts were carefully preserved by temple priests, who regarded them as divine revelations. As the centuries passed and the original leaves began to decay, they were carefully recopied onto fresh palm leaves to ensure their survival.
Making The Most Of Void Of Course Moon
Did you know that the moon has an astrological “pause button”? Every once in a while, the Moon literally takes a celestial break. In astrology, this is known as the Void of Course (VOC).
During this time, the Moon is considered “void,” meaning that it is not forming significant aspects with other celestial bodies in its current sign, and it has not yet entered the next sign. It’s a brief pause, a momentary break in the Moon’s journey that invites us to take a time out to recalibrate, reflect, and reset.
The concept of the VOC Moon dates back to Hellenistic astrology in the first century BC. Ancient astrologers observed that activities initiated during this phase often produced unexpected or unfavorable results.
While its origins are ancient, its relevance remains, especially for those who seek to align their actions with cosmic rhythms. Traditionally, astrologers advise against making important decisions or starting new projects during this time due to the perceived unpredictability associated with this lunar phase.
The concept was popularized in the 1940s by American astrologer Al H. Morrison who spent decades researching and writing about this astrological phenomenon. He recommended using this time for subjective, spiritual, and non-material concerns such as prayer, meditation, or rest.
According to Chris Brennan, a prominent astrologer specializing in Hellenistic astrology, the term “void of course” comes from the Greek word kenodromía (κενοδρομία), which means “running in the void” or “running in emptiness.”
How Will Saturn Return Impact Your Life?
Saturn return is typically a momentous, but intense time in everyone’s life. This significant astrological event occurs when the planet Saturn returns to the same position it occupied at the time of your birth, typically around the ages of 29, 58, and for some, 88.

Any karmic lesson that you have not yet learned, any necessary life challenge that you have not faced, anything that you have avoided, denied or neglected is likely to surface at this time, demanding reconciliation, reevaluation or reckoning, whether you like it or not.
That is why I often tell my clients during a reading, “Learn this lesson and learn it now, while there is still time.” Avoidance, denial, procrastination, and self-deception will not save you from Saturn’s return bringing it right back to your door. In fact, it will only make it much worse and more difficult to resolve.
Our Saturn returns typically occur in three distinct phases during our lifetime, with approximate age ranges based on Saturn’s orbital cycle of about 29.5 years. Each Saturn return serves as a powerful milestone, helping you to develop a more authentic, grounded, and resilient sense of self as you move through the various phases of life.
How Venus Debilitation Impacts Your Love Life
As we find ourselves in the midst of the annual Venus debilitation transit until September 18, it’s important to understand how this cosmic event tends to affect our love lives and relationships.
In astrology, debilitation refers to a planet being in a weaker or less favorable position in the zodiac, which affects its ability to express its natural qualities. When a planet is debilitated, it is limited in the expression of its positive qualities and may instead exhibit more challenging qualities. There Is More To Astrology Than Horoscopes!
Astrology is an ancient, complex metaphysical tradition that originated over 4000 years ago in Mesopotamia. Yes, indeed! Old Babylonia was its birthplace, not Harry Potter’s Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Neither was it concocted by an enterprising editor of some trendy newspaper or magazine.
Actually, the first horoscope in the modern press is credited to the British astrologer Richard Harold Naylor who wrote a horoscope for the newly born Princess Margaret, titled What The Stars Foretell For The New Princess. It was published three days after her birth on August 24, 1930 in the Sunday Express weekly newspaper. It was so popular with readers that he was asked to write more horoscopes for the publication.
The sun sign astrology we see in modern day horoscopes was not originally intended for the individual, but it has become a useful gateway to entice people into a deeper exploration of astrology. Nothing wrong with a little ‘cheese for the mice,’ as long as we bear in mind that true astrology does not exclusively revolve around our birth sun sign.
Our sun sign is only one letter of the astrological alphabet, albeit a highly significant letter. The other planets in our natal chart do view our sun as the center of things, but the cosmos and our individual lives contain so much more.
The layered complexity of a nativity, a client’s individual birth story crystallized in an exact moment of time and place, is a story as rich as the history that birthed it. Ancient Babylonia carried the first seeds of the western, tropical system of astrology that many of us practice today.
Dating Guidelines For Astrological Compatibility
As a professional astrologer, I’m often asked by clients if their zodiac sign is compatible with someone they are interested in, or currently dating. For this purpose, I have developed over the years through study and experience some simple, yet essential guidelines for astrological romance.
If you are in search of your soulmate, consider the following cosmic guidelines:
Never Date A Neighbor
Rarely are we compatible with the sun signs preceding or following our own sign in the zodiac, even though they flow into one another. Exceptions to this guideline are the Fire and Earth signs: Aries with Taurus, Leo with Virgo, and Sagittarius with Capricorn, but only if the fire sign partner has distinct personality traits of the divine feminine and the earth sign partner tends more towards the divine masculine.
Opposites Rarely Attract
Traditional astrology books on compatibility suggest seeking out the sun sign opposite to your own sign, but in my experience these differences can often be dealbreakers in this day and age. While we want variety and choice in a relationship, I find most people are rarely truly attracted to the signs opposite theirs.
Divination And The Element Of Air
Various ancient cultures, metaphysical traditions and mystical teachings identify five elements that constitute the world we live in. In Western occult traditions, these elements are typically arranged in the hierarchical order of spirit (aether), fire, air, water, and earth.
Spirit or aether is the nonphysical element (or ‘fifth element’) that serves as a bridge between the physical and the metaphysical realms. Spirit is the bridge between the body and soul.
Fire is the masculine element representing inner strength, transformative power, courage, protection, purification, and assertive action.

Air is my favorite element in spiritual practice, as is associated with ideas, concepts, inspiration, and innovative thinking. It is also the element of wisdom and divination.
Working with the air element sharpens ideas, enhances experiments, and paves the way for new inventions. Musicians and artists are typically inspired by the element of air. Air is however a fickle element as it can come as a gale-force hurricane, or a calm, soothing breeze…just like our thoughts.
