The Difference Between Emotion And Intuition
Clients sometimes tell me during psychic readings, “I just have this gut feeling,” or “I don’t know, but something about this seems off.” I love when people say things like this. It means they are noticing the whispers of their inner guidance system. They may not yet have the confidence to fully trust it, but they’ve taken the first step to becoming more aware of whispers of their highers self, asking to be heard.
The challenge comes when we try to sort out whether that “feeling” we have is an actual intuitive nudge or just an emotion bubbling up from our human experience. From a spiritual perspective, emotions and intuitions are not the same thing. Both are important, but they function very differently.
When you can tell them apart, you can make decisions with greater clarity, avoid unnecessary drama, and walk more confidently along your spiritual path.
Emotions and intuitions may seem similar because they both arise within us without a clear explanation. However, emotions are usually connected to our human reactions. They can be triggered by what’s happening around us, our personal beliefs, or our physical state. As any expert drama queen can confirm, they can sometimes be big, loud, colorful, and full of urgency!
Intuition, on the other hand, is usually quiet, calm, and strangely neutral. Even the most powerful intuitive messages can be completely free of emotion. They carry a simple clarity that doesn’t shout or demand, but simply is. In fact, these emotion-free intuitive hits are often the most accurate and meaningful, because they’re not wrapped up in temporary moods and personal biases.
The Spiritual Power Of The Words You Speak
Have you ever stopped to truly consider the words you speak? Most of us talk all day, every day, without realizing the impact of each syllable we send out into the world.
Words are much more than just communication sounds. They’re vibrations, frequencies, and intentions. Whether spoken softly, shouted out loud, or whispered quietly to yourself, every word carries mystical energy.
In many spiritual traditions, the spoken word is seen as a powerful metaphysical force or divine power. It is a force of creation and transformation.
From magical incantations to sacred ceremonies, words have long been used to shape everyday reality, influence the world and improve life.
The earliest recorded reference to the power of speech dates back to ancient Mesopotamia. In the city of Uruk, magical incantations were found carved onto clay tablets dating back to approximately the 5th century BCE. These spoken spells were used for protection, healing, and influencing others, revealing a deep understanding of the energetic and powerful nature of speech as early as 2,500 years ago.
Around the same time, the ancient Egyptians believed in the concept of heka, which is often translated today as “magic” but really means “divine creative power.” They believed the gods used heka to create the world, and that humans could access this same creative power through sacred words called hekau.
Protect Your Energy From Toxic People
If you’ve ever felt emotionally drained, manipulated, or physically unwell after spending time with someone, know that you’re not alone. I do relationship readings for people stuck in toxic relationships, or dealing with energy vampires in their family or workplace, on a daily basis.
These relationships and people feed off your energy, often leaving you feeling depleted, anxious, or confused.
Why do so many people allow these people into their lives? Often, they simply have no choice. These toxic people may be family members, coworkers, in-laws, friends we’ve known for years, other relatives, or even life partners.
As a deeply empathic person myself, I understand the profound sensitivity that comes with feeling the energies around you.
Being surrounded by energy thieves can feel like standing in front of an emotional vacuum or caught inside a whirlwind of chaos. If you don’t prepare yourself energetically and spiritually before engaging with these types of individuals, your emotional and physical well-being will suffer.
It’s exhausting trying to maintain your peace in the presence of drama, manipulation, or constant criticism. Take for example family gatherings or in-law visits.
These moments can trigger a cascade of emotions due to clashing personalities, judgment, gossip, and unresolved history. It often feels like nothing you do is ever right, and it becomes a true test of inner strength.
Moving Forward After A Breakup Or Divorce
Going through a divorce, or the end of a long relationship, can feel like your world has come crashing down. The dreams you shared, the life you pictured together, and all the emotional energy you invested can suddenly seem lost.
It’s not just about losing a person; it’s also about letting go of a future you once hoped for. It can be difficult to know how to move forward.
However, even in the midst of any ending, there’s an opportunity for a fresh and meaningful new beginning.
Accepting that your relationship has ended is one of the most important steps in the healing process. It’s normal to grieve what could have been, but don’t dwell on the past. The past is a place to learn from, not a place to stay.
True acceptance means letting go of blame, resentment, and regret. This isn’t because the hurt didn’t happen, but because holding on keeps that hurt alive.
Acceptance can be difficult. It means accepting that your life will look different than you expected, and trusting that there’s still joy and beauty ahead. Many spiritual traditions remind us that everything happens for a reason, even if we don’t understand it right away. When we reach acceptance, our heart chakra can open again, releasing stuck emotions and making room for healing. Continue reading
Mercury Retrograde: A Time To Revisit, Reflect And Realign
Has it felt like the universe has been playing a cosmic prank on you lately? Maybe your phone or computer has started acting up, or your travel plans have taken an unexpected turn, or maybe every conversation feels like a confusing game of telephone?
You’re not imagining any it, and you’re definitely not alone. Blame it on the astrological phenomenon known as Mercury Retrograde.
Mercury began its current retrograde motion in the sign of Leo on July 18, 2025. This phase will last for 24 days, ending on August 11, 2025, with Mercury still positioned in Leo as it returns to direct motion.
But this energetic shift doesn’t stop there. After Mercury stations direct, we enter the shadow period, also known as the post-retrograde shadow or retroshade. This phase usually lasts for about two more weeks, meaning the lingering effects of the current retrograde may continue through August 25, 2025.
Mercury retrograde occurs three, and occasionally four, times each year due to the planet’s swift orbit around the Sun. As the innermost planet, Mercury completes this journey in just 88 Earth days.
During its retrograde phase, Mercury appears to move backward in the sky from our earthly perspective, creating a temporary disruption in its usual energetic influence. Because it is the planet that rules communication, travel, and information, its retrograde motion often stirs up confusion, delays, and misunderstandings in these areas of life.
