The Lotus Flower Reading
I recently attended an online psychic development workshop. In one of the tasks, we had to partner with another student and do a ‘flower reading.’ I know touching an object using psychometry works well in readings, but this is something else.
Our teacher paired us up and we didn’t know in advance with whom. We also had to intuitively pick a flower for our partner beforehand. At the beginning of the session, we had to show the other person the actual flower or a color photo of the flower we had chosen for them on our shared screens.
In preparation for this, I placed many pieces of paper, each with the name of a different flower on it, into a bag, shook it up, and drew one. Spirit guided me to select the Indian lotus flower or nelumbo nucifera.
When it was my turn to read for my classmate, I relaxed and observed the image of the lovely white lotus in front of me. The depth of information that came forth in the reading about her past, how her life was now, and what lay ahead, was truly amazing!
The reading revealed that she was going to be blossoming soon like the lotus, because she currently finds herself in a strong development stage. I later learned that she’d been through some dark times, almost giving up on herself. She had recently begun doing deep shadow work, as well as exploring her psychic development.
She is also recovering from a recent trauma and the lotus is traditionally known for being the ideal gift for someone recovering from any traumatic experience or physical injury. Many years ago, I attended a Yoga class during which the challenges of the lotus position was discussed in-depth. The teacher said that through proper breathwork and becoming more flexible, one’s body will allow you to achieve this pose.
I was only 19 years old at the time and not very supple. I saw no hope of achieving that position for quite some time. However, only a few classes later, we did a session during which a lot of emphasis was placed on our breathing. And to my amazement, I was able to easily get into the lotus position!
Discover Your True Strength And Inner Beauty
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Are you looking at only the outer appearance, or are you looking at the soul behind the flesh? Are you seeing the spirit within you?
Take a few minutes today to shut out the noise of the world, as well as any negative self-talk you may tend to indulge in. Then be still, take a few deep breaths and go within to explore who you really are on the inside.
Shift your awareness out of your mind and into your heart and gut. Uncover the inner strength that lies beneath the tears and hurt. See the love that longs to come to the surface and be shared with others. Find your inner spiritual truth.
So often we tend to see only our defects and not the good that lies underneath. It is time to see yourself as the best possible version of yourself. Begin to realign the way you see yourself and make it positive, confident, and powerful.
Trust me, I have been there too. I used to be always looking for affirmation from others that I am worthy, beautiful and worth being in their life.
Then one day, Spirit woke me up. Spirit spoke clearly and said, “Sheri, close your eyes and see the real you within. Feel your true power. Feel the essence of goodness that you are and what you can give to others. Help others to also see their perfection within themselves and guide them to not give their power away to others who cause them pain and hurt.”
It was a powerful moment of enlightenment for me and the message from Spirit has stuck with me for decades since.
Now, you may think that you have nothing to offer. Maybe you feel old, or unattractive, or not smart enough, or successful and talented enough. Maybe you believe your partner left you for another because you were not good enough, and so on. But none of these ideas you have about yourself are true.
You are a spiritual being in human form. You were created in the divine image of God. There is an inner beauty, a goodness, an infinite intelligence that lies beneath your physical exterior, no matter who you are or what you look like.
Astrology Forecast September 13 – 19, 2021
The astrological showstopper this week is Mars entering Libra tomorrow, where it will spend the next six weeks focusing our energy on love, relationships, harmony, and beauty. Even if we plan to build a new business or tackle a home project, Mars will infuse more visual beauty and balanced planning into the mix.
Today’s Half Moon in Sagittarius can cause some problems at work, family issues or public arguments and conflicts. Be sure to start your day off with a calm, level-headed mindset and take extra care to keep your cool. Best to avoid that difficult client or toxic coworker at the office, and don’t take the bait of returning your mother-in-law’s phone call today. And stay calm and centered in traffic, because road rage may be more likely today.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be our most productive days of the week, so if there’s something you simply must get done, these would be the recommended days to deal with it.
Come Thursday, the Moon will travel through Aquarius for three days, which could upend our plans or bring unexpected information or situations to the surface. The main thing to remember is to practice a lot more patience and flexibility under this influence, adjusting to whatever arises at any given moment. Expect the unexpected. And remember, if one door closes, it’s time to start looking for an open window!
On Friday and Saturday we may be experiencing some emotional upheaval in love, relationship or marriage with Venus in Scorpio square Saturn in Aquarius. Conflict with your partner may arise due to misunderstanding or disillusionment. If your spouse is spending time away from home this weekend, be careful not to overreact due to unfounded feelings of jealousy or abandonment.
Sunday’s Pisces Moon will give us the chance to stop and reflect, offering a great opportunity to see the higher purpose in any shifts or changes that pop up this week.
Love, Joy And The Pursuit Of Happiness
According to the United States Declaration of Independence “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” are the inalienable birthrights of every human being given to us by our Creator, God, Source, the Divine.
Sadly, I find very few people to be successful in their pursuit of happiness. The same is true for finding love and joy. It seems many are merely stumbling through life trying to find it.
A teacher once told me life is like school. For some of us it’s like kindergarten – easy, uncomplicated, and lots of fun. For others it’s like graduate school with lots of difficulties and challenges to overcome.
Searching for joy, love and happiness does seem to be a ‘wild goose chase’ for many people. It truly is like chasing wild animals. The faster we run after it, the more it seems to flee. I don’t believe joy, love and happiness can be found. Well, at least not in the ways that many of us are hoping to find it.
Like happiness, the right to love is also the natural inheritance of every person. The well-known channeled text, A Course in Miracles, delves into the idea of love from a spiritual perspective. It states that it is impossible to teach love. Instead, the goal should be to remove the blockages or obstacles we have to allowing love’s presence in our lives.
I have seen repeated evidence of this in doing readings for many years now. Certain reading themes are repetitive and common themes are ‘finding love,’ or the ‘lack of love,’ or ‘loss of love.’ In all these readings one thing always becomes very clear: love itself is not an ‘out there’ thing. It is also not something that can be received from another person or thing.
In readings, Spirit will often say, “Love is not a feeling.” This one initially took me a while to understand myself, until I realized that love is in fact an intrinsic quality of being. It is already within each of us. We refer to it as the Higher Self, the Soul, or the Spirit. No one is ever separated from this innate love because it is an intrinsic aspect of our very being.
The Special Magic Of Autumn
I’ve often wondered if in a former lifetime I might have had a birthday in the fall? More specifically, I sense it must have been in the month of September, because I typically experience increased awareness and great change during this month.
Being a Gemini, born in June, this makes absolutely no sense, but I don’t always pay attention to what makes sense. I rather go with what feels right.
I feel a special magic in the air in the fall that I do not experience in any other season. In the autumn the world of the living seems to move closer to the afterlife and our deceased loved ones.
Traditionally All Hallows’ Eve on October 31st is believed to be time when the veil between the two worlds is most thin and we can more easily connect with our departed loved ones on the Other Side.
In the Northern Hemisphere September is the time of year when Mother Nature is shedding her leaves as the cooler air moves. Might this also be a time for us to let go of the aspects of our lives that no longer serve us? And could it be that our deceased loved ones in Heaven support and help to facilitate this need for us to surrender and let go?
The energy of September is an in-between state of transition that will ultimately spark us into new beginnings. But sometimes we need a little bit of extra magic, as it takes much courage to let go of the old and familiar to step onto a new path.
Our family and friends in Heaven want to see us progress and grow while in the Earth realm. Our loved ones who have crossed over to the Other Side can see forward and backward in time. They have the ability to open doors for us who are still in this life.
Astrology Forecast September 6 – 12, 2021
Today’s New Moon in Virgo inspires our organizational and idealistic sensibilities as we embrace the new energy in the air. The first two days of the week will prove quite productive under this influence. Use this time to clear a path and start setting up new ventures and schedules. Venus in Libra trine Jupiter in Aquarius today and tomorrow adds to the idealistic and positive atmosphere. But be careful, as a Virgo New Moon can also cause us to be moody and irritable.
Balance will be the theme as the Moon cruises through Libra on Wednesday and Thursday, so we’ll be able to take a breather from the persistent pace of the previous two days. This will also be a good time to review our relationships and make sure we are connecting on a heart level with loved ones, rather than being superficial and insincere.
Wednesday’s Libra Moon conjunction Mercury in Libra will be a good day for business success and making lucrative deals. This aspect inspires us to be more focused, mentally clear and capable of making good decisions.
Venus will move into Scorpio on Friday, bringing our deeper desires and longings into focus. The spiritual aspect of Scorpio will infiltrate all we do, especially with the Moon in this sign on Friday and Saturday. Speak from the heart, follow your intuition, and trust the process. A lot of memories could surface under these influences. A walk down memory lane may fill us with gratitude and appreciation for the journey our path has taken us on.
Sunday’s Sagittarius Moon is all about having fun, so cast off the scattered vibes of this week and make this a ‘me day’ with lots of self-love and self-care. Take a day at the spa, a trip to your favorite spot, or spend the whole day catching up on all the shows you’ve missed. Whatever you choose to do, the main aim must be to feed your soul and nurture your spirit on your own terms.
Grandma’s Love Was The Best
I remember what Grandma was wearing when she passed away. I also recall exactly what she said and everything else that happened that day, right down to the violets I picked in the backyard to place in her hand. She was wearing an oversized Winnie the Pooh T-shirt that could have been a night dress, I’m not sure. She had her red robe on and black slippers lined with greyish fluff.
She was told she was being taken to the nursing home, but it was actually hospice she would be going to. She could no longer walk and had fallen, and no one was able to pick her up. Not even myself. I wish I could, but I just was not able to.
I sensed she wasn’t to going be with us very much, and I was very upset about it. But constantly having to give her blood transfusions and her being in so much pain, it was the right decision at the time. I have made peace with that now.
Settling her into the hospice, Grandma was adamant the bed be taken out, as it was unbearably uncomfortable. She kept saying, “I just want to go home and die. This is no way to live. I’m ready to go.” She also told me, if I ever needed her after she had gone, all I would have to do is call her name, and she would be there for me. Grandma kept her promise to me. To this day I still feel her around me all the time, especially when I think of her and call her name.
I think the worst thing I ever experienced in my entire life was walking into that hospice room after she had passed and seeing her shell of a body. She was no longer there, obviously, but she was still around. I felt she was somewhere in the room looking at us and saying her goodbyes.
Pain had made her very bitter towards the end of her life. She wasn’t herself anymore because she was on so many different strong medications and invasive treatments. I sensed that she longed to be with her departed husband and her dear mother who passed when she was just a young girl. Her mom was also a psychic and apparently really good with things like Numerology and dreaming lucky numbers. I loved hearing all those stories.
