The Girl Who Healed Animals At The Pet Cemetery
I grew up in Germany. My dad, coming from an extremely poor background, worked his hands to the bones to provide a roof over our heads and food on the table. Mom and dad married when she was only 19 and we lived in a house built beside my grandfather’s on a small farm.
My maternal grandfather was a pharmacist and had bought the land on the hill, where he built his house after he came back from the war. He had been imprisoned in France. Times were hard, but the land my grandfather was able to purchase the land at a low price. It was the last lot on the hill, before the heavily forested area, and it was an old pet cemetery, which was unknown at the time.
Around the time I went to high school, I started finding injured animals. Or maybe they found me? The first was a black bird with a broken wing. I brought her home and named her Raven. I learned how to feed her, and how to stabilize the wing so it could heal.
The next animal was a mouse. She had a bloody foot and was almost frozen to the ground. She was barely alive and seemed relieved as I picked her up and carried her home. I put her in a terrarium I had inherited from my brother, after he had used it for his ‘frog project’ in school. His 143 tadpoles turned into frogs all over the backyard, and mom was livid! Thanks for my Dad, they all moved to a pond.
My next surprise guest was a black cat. I came home from soccer practice and there he was, sitting on my desk in my room. It was a problem, because mom did not want any pets in the house! Period. I could hide the small animals, but what to do with a big, black cat?
I begged my parents to let me keep Fritzi. He was like a dog. He followed me wherever I went. My family voted for Fritzi to stay, on mom’s condition that he sleep on the porch. But, of course, Fritzi the black cat slept on my pillow instead. Sadly he was killed after a few months, when I called him for lunch and a car ran him over. I was devastated. Heartbroken.
Old And Worn, Or Shiny And New?
My dad was an avid coin collector. This is probably why I have the habit of collecting spare change to look at the dates or any flaws on each coin. I guess it’s in my DNA.
One of my favorite memories of my dad is sitting at his antique roll-top desk looking at his coins with a magnifying glass. Some coins were old, dirty, beat-up, others new and shiny. It is easy to be attracted to the new and shiny coins.
I remember my father telling me some of the ones that look so old and ugly are sometimes worth much more than they may appear to be. When we go on looks and youth alone, the old, tarnished silver dollars in our lives might look like they are not worth much, but sometimes they are priceless.
My dad always said, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” After he had passed, my mother took some of his silver dollars in for appraisal and much to her surprise some of the silver dollars were worth thousands.
When I am doing readings, my dad, who is now in spirit, will sometimes come through to show me a certain old coin. It is my personal psychic symbol meaning the person I am reading for has something, or someone, in their life that may seem ‘old and worn-out,’ but worth much more than face value.
It is human nature to choose things that are bright, new, young and shiny. Sometimes we make bad life choices regarding people, places and things on appearance alone. I once bought a sports car for the way it looked. It was red and looked feisty, but it was not a great choice for the snow and ice we have here during the winter. Totally impractical. What was I thinking!
I have been reminiscing about my dad a lot lately. I asked him once if he could only live in one of his former houses, which one would he choose? Without hesitation his answer was the old family house in Maine. He was the third generation to own that house. “Why the old house,” I asked. His reply, “There is nothing in the Florida house I cannot replace. The old house has memories that are irreplaceable and priceless, right down to the wood and square nails that hold it together.”
We Are All Somebody’s Somebody
This is a story about a child who grew up thinking one way, but in time discovered that things are not always as they seem. How we choose to think, or see, or feel about life is how we will live it.
His journey started in the fall of 1961. At birth he appeared to be perfectly ‘normal,’ except that he was underweight and arrived a little early. It was later to be discovered that he had sight in only one eye and did not respond to sound in his left ear. This caused him to also experience difficulties later in learning how to talk. He also had some health issues with the functioning of his heart.
He was fortunate to grow up with a loving family, who understood early on that he was different, but for the most part they didn’t treat him any differently. With the help of speech therapy, hearing aids and glasses, he learned to manage and adapt, but there was a burning anger and frustration inside of him as he grew older.
In time, he increasingly realized how different he was to the other kids, to the extent that it made going to school and interacting with others very frustrating.
Then something wonderful happened. His father, who had been an Eagle scout in his youth, also got him involved with scouting. Suddenly, his world opened up. Although as a family they often went camping and taking canoe trips, this was different, because he was spending time with other boys his age.
Soon, he became involved as a manager of the football team, and later as an athletic trainer. He had found his role and calling, figuring he can’t play himself, but he can certainly help others play! He had finally found something he was really good at, and by the time he was a senior in high school his reputation was such that he was recruited to be a student trainer for All-state Boys Basketball.
Later he attended college on a scholarship as a student trainer and participated in several championship teams, including as the head student trainer for the co-ed training room. College, however, not only afforded him his dream career, but it also offered him the opportunity to help those kids who weren’t playing on the A-teams. He could teach them how to participate in their own way, and still succeed. After graduating he became a certified athletic trainer.
Invoking The Angels Of Abundance
True abundance and well-being is the natural state of the human soul. We are meant to dwell in abundance and well-being, because we live in an abundant, harmonious universe.
However, there are some people that constantly dwell in lack consciousness and a scarcity mentality, which is then reflected in the lives they live. This will often emerge through the negativity and judgments they have about their circumstances, as well as their endless criticism and envy of others.
Angelic energy allows us to move from this mindset of limitation and lack into the true abundant flow of the Universe.
Sometimes people confuse ‘abundance’ with the collection of wealth, prosperity and material things. Yes, collecting these things can be one aspect of abundance, but true abundance is way more than just material prosperity.
True abundance is to have enough of all that we need to accomplish our higher purpose and fulfill our spiritual destiny. This includes many other valuable things, beyond money and material comforts, such as enough time to reach our goals; a healthy work-life balance; nurturing relationships; good health; adequate energy and vitality; a sense of purpose; spiritual wisdom and authentic living; and lots of love, happiness and joy. These are the true luxuries of life!
An angel of abundance helps us to get into the flow of abundance, and help us understand that abundance is meant to flow. No wonder we refer to money as “currency.” The very name that we use to define our medium of trade in this reality, has its root in flow. An angel of abundance is therefore not so much about delivering lots of material stuff to us, but more about awakening us to the natural flow of life and our true spiritual purpose in this lifetime.
My Psychic Connection To The Animals
My spiritual journey started early, at the age of five. And my first psychic experiences were to listen to the needs of the animals, and to know their concerns.
Animals have an energy that is very relaxed, and kind. Their wants and needs are very simple. Some animals have the sole purpose of serving humanity, especially our pets. And they love to be useful. They don’t complain. Although cats can be great companions, dogs are probably the most devoted servants to the, often thankless, human species.
Our pets will often pick up the traits that they sense we want from them. The most amazing thing I found about our pets is that they absorb our pain and even take our illness upon themselves. I have seen this happen many times.
When I first realized I could communicate with the animals, I started listening more frequently to how I could help and support them. One day, I was walking around in my childhood neighborhood, when I sensed an animal calling out to me for help. When I turned around, I saw a beagle at a neighbor’s house shaking his head vigorously, and whimpering. I could feel his distress.
When I got close, I immediately saw the cause of his anguish. His ears were covered in parasites, to the extent that he was bleeding from repeatedly scratching himself. A voice within urged me to fetch ointment for the dog, so I ran to my house and in my naivety returned with a jar of petroleum jelly, which I applied to his ears. Well, it actually worked! The beagle was very grateful, he could not stop thanking me. Applying Vaseline to his ears became my daily job.
Are You An Old Soul?
An ‘old soul’ is a person who wise beyond their years. It is someone who has a deeper understanding of human nature and the world we live in. I also believe that an old soul is a person who has learned valuable life lessons from their past incarnations or former lifetimes.
How do you know you are an old soul? Well, if you can see the bigger picture of things, and you are always wanting to learn more, then your current lifetime is probably not your ‘first rodeo.’ Old souls are typically highly intuitive and empathic. Their psychic senses are heightened, and they understand who they are in this life.
Old souls are attracted to wisdom and truth. They are not much for superficial lifestyles and trivial pursuits. They are not materialistic. Instead, they focus more on the beauty and simple joys of life, instead of the indulgences of material wealth and luxuries.
They feel the need to follow their own path in life, seeking their own truth and understanding, free from the opinion and views of others. They want to understand more about life and what makes things tick They live their lives the way they want to, and they find purpose and inner peace on their own terms.
