You Are Meant To Be Here

Lately, I have been hearing cries for help from some clients who say things like: “I really don’t want to be here anymore, and I won’t even be missed if I’m gone”. In my experience this sense of hopelessness amongst people has intensified this past year.

Some 18 years ago I was very ill, and from this traumatic time in my life I came to realize that we do plan our lives before we incarnate. I vividly recall one out-of-body experience during an unconscious period of my hospital stay. There I sat with a counsel of wise beings who told me I still had work to do, and it somehow all made sense to complete the lessons this time, even though, quite frankly I really did not want to be here either! So, based on some profound spiritual experiences, and well as past life regression, I do believe we have a ‘pre-birth plan’.  I feel my pre-birth plan was discussed long ago with that same Counsel of Elders who was there during my profound out-of-body experience in intensive care.

I remember one particular past life regression experience in which I felt I was hovering over very green land, like a bumble bee. When I explained the experience to my then mentor, who was a past life regression specialist, he said: “Oh yes, you hadn’t taken on form yet and you were perusing places in which to have your next incarnation”. It all resonated with me and I realized that, I had, in fact chosen England as the following country of birth for the experiences it would bring. England was the starting point this lifetime, with many more continents I would move to and feel more connected to spiritually than my country of birth.

I feel we aren’t meant to recall all of our past lives. Perhaps, to do so would equate to information overload or, be too traumatic, because we will have experienced tragedy in other incarnations too. It makes sense that our past lives will influence the places we have an affinity with, or where we get a sense of déjà vu when we visit and don’t quite know why. Even our current talents, which may not be inherited from our parents, can be brought with us from a previous existence. Our taste in clothes, people we tend to gravitate to, and even music can have past life connections.

I feel that before incarnating to this earth school, and even to other galaxies, we meet with our wise counsel of beings, together with our guides, to discuss and choose from options in relation to the lessons – both gentle and harsh – we wish to experience from our spiritual growth, as well as choosing our earth family. Sometimes, we will feel very connected to our blood or adopted family on a soul level. There are other times we will choose certain parents, simply as a way to get to this planet for the genes and characteristics they can pass on to us for a specific life lesson.

I believe we choose the itinerary for our journey, but that there are choices along the way which will have significant impact on our life paths. We pre-set goals and challenges and this is often the time we may choose to invoke the guidance of our guides, angels and ancestors. And, I believe they do hear us, but that they will not interfere with our free will, unless we ask.

For example, a goal might be to build one’s own corporate empire this lifetime in order to experience the challenges that come with  the demands of the business world, not to mention dealing with staff. For many, the lesson can be abuse or loneliness, even if for just a short period of time, whilst learning to love oneself to change our circumstances, as well as realizing that we actually don’t need anybody else’s approval to feel complete and good enough.

I once heard the term “flow chart” used to describe our life plan, into which free will is incorporated. On our life journey our guides orchestrate synchronicities as a catalyst for us to experience additional lessons. These synchronicities often happen when we least expect them to!

If we recalled all of our past lives, we would already have many of the answers. I feel we can expand more by not knowing, although I have enjoyed tapping into visions of some of my past lives with the help of an experienced past life therapist.

We still have the ability to create our reality, and to manifest more abundance for ourselves, but if we have chosen to experience a certain illness, or to attract a toxic individual, we do have choices as to how to deal with those challenges.

Trust that the world needs you, with all of its challenges. As the Desiderata says: you are meant to be here.
