I Am Proud To Call Myself Psychic
I have been naturally psychic all my life, and have been working as a professional psychic for over 20 years. After all these years I am still curious about people’s responses when they ask me what I do for a living.
People’s responses to me being a psychic can sometimes be so predictable that you don’t even need to be psychic to know what they are going to say. No, I am going to tell you what your name, star sign or favorite color is, just because you thought it funny to ask. My typical response to these kinds of questions is inevitably, “Why, did you forget what it was?”
Now, I could tell them I am a Licensed Reverend or a Certified Life Coach. I could also tell them that I am a Certified Massage Therapist for over 8 years. I could even say that I am a Certified Reiki Master, or better yet, that I was a casino dealer for twelve years, before I ‘jumped off the cliff’ into the rest of my life. But my favorite thing to say is simply that, “I am a psychic.”
People have different ideas about what this really means. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the term ‘psychic’ as being of, or relating to, the psyche. It is also described as lying outside the sphere of physical science or knowledge. The word is further also defined as someone who is sensitive to non-physical or supernatural forces and influences; or as a person who is marked by extraordinary or mysterious sensitivity, perception, or understanding.
As all psychics are well aware, we can be looked upon askance in the best of times, and with horror during the worst of times. It’s rarely an easy gig! But, oh, so rewarding.
Live Only For Today, It’s Plenty Enough!
Living just for today is plenty enough to keep us busy. Why make it more stressful by also worrying about yesterday and tomorrow?
We can easily become inundated with the drama and chaos of the modern world, and bogged down with other people’s negative energy. These days there is generally a feeling of having to go, go, go, and do, do, do!
The demands of staying in the ‘rat race’ hypnotizes most people, until they are left feeling drained, depleted, and unable to function properly anymore. Many folks are constantly feeling exhausted, and they don’t know why.
Sometimes it’s all you can do just to get through the day. And often that is all you really have to do. If you just focus on what you need to do for just today, you will find the daily demands of modern life much more manageable. Living just for today is plenty, don’t put it upon yourself to do anything else, except to live in the now.
Spirit says people are too focused on worrying about the past, the future, and what could possibly happen. That is not the way to make the most of every day, says spirit. The better way is to live each moment fully. Make more of an effort to see, feel and hear what’s going on around you, in every very moment.
It is really that simple. When you rise in the morning do not focus on anything else, other than paving the way mentally for the day ahead. It keeps the mind free of nonsense. Living for today is plenty enough, doing it any other way steals the joy and substance from the moments.
Taking ‘The Next Step’ In A Psychic Reading
A variety of life questions can motivate someone to call a psychic or medium for a reading. It is often a situation that has arisen in a relationship, or maybe a work issue, their financial outlook, or maybe even getting some help interpreting a dream or synchronistic event. And sometimes their question is very unusual, or even unique.
Whatever the reason is that originally prompts you to call a reputable psychic for a reading, you will usually have your questions answered, or resolved. But it typically does not end there. Once the basic question has been addressed, you will usually find that spirit then opens up an invitation for deeper exploration, for you to see more clearly why this issue may have occurred and what opportunity, gift or lesson awaits you underneath the reason for the call. I call this second phase of the reading ‘the next step,’ and its purpose is typically spiritual guidance and personal growth.
The range of psychics, and their unique services and specialties, are endless. Psychics, mediums, intuitive, empaths, diviners, cartomancers (Tarot), spiritual life coaches, healers, channelers, and so on. And each have their unique way of seeing into your life, gaining insight into what is happening, and then offering their interpretation and guidance.
Knowing what’s ahead on their path, and how to best handle it, is the biggest reason people reach out to readers! Psychics can also identify repeat patterns, as we can often see backward (retrocognition) and forward (precognition) in time, and can tell if what’s occurring in your life has happened before, or if it is likely to happen again.
Why Take A Psychic Development Class?
I am planning to take another psychic development class this May, as well as teach a similar class in the same month. But why would I need to take such a class, while I am already working as a professional psychic medium?
The answer is simple: if I learn one new thing from another spiritual teacher, that can be passed along for the benefit of my clients, it is definitely worth my time and effort. And, of course, some of us simply enjoy being lifelong students!
It doesn’t matter the length of time a person has been a professional. A little tune-up is always a good thing. Taking lots of different classes usually boost a person’s confidence.
Yes, I do believe you can teach ‘old dogs new tricks.’ It is always nice to meet new colleagues in the metaphysical field and have inspiring discussions on ways to improve the standards and professionalism of our work.
Whenever my daily work becomes a little lackluster, I always know it’s time to ‘get out of the water’ and take a class or attend a seminar or workshop. It keeps me excited about the work I do. It is great when you learn a new technique or method that can improve your service to others.
Professional psychic mediums always want to better the level of their work. Yes, no matter how ‘good’ one is, there is always another level to reach. Always looking for a way to validate evidence from spirit and confirm that indeed life goes on after our spirit leaves the physical body.
Love, Joy And Happiness After Years Of Hardship
I have a client who used to be extremely depressed. I recommend she speak to a therapist or counselor instead, because I felt that is exactly what she needed at the time. She had been harboring a lot of bitterness, grief, sadness, anger and other toxic negative emotions for a very long time. She needed professional help that I felt was beyond my scope of expertise.
So, she found a therapist and went for counseling, but months later she told me that the only thing she felt she accomplished was her spending thousands of dollars on help she never really received. She had still found no relief from her deep distress.
She had been bitter for a long time. While raising her children and attending church, her husband would cheat on her. She also worked the entire time the children were young, until they graduated. Meanwhile, he would leave on ‘business trips’ to go and gamble away their hard-earned livelihood, and spend time with other women. Then one day, he met someone he wanted to marry. So, they divorced and he moved far away to be with his new wife. He was a narcissist.
Her sadness and grief was also due to the loss of her mother, whom she had taken care of for 20 years after her father passed. She sacrificed a lot to dedicate herself to serving her mother’s needs. During this time she had no notion of self-care. She suffered on all levels: emotionally, physically, spiritually. She even gave up going to church. She was slowly dying inside and didn’t even know who she was anymore.
Dare To Find Your Way Again!
Why should there be a yellow brick road? The answer is simple: everyone should have a personal path to Oz.
In the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz, after losing her way home, Dorothy was advised to follow the yellow brick road. Along the way, she was given a pair of beautiful ruby slippers. She was also cautioned not to remove these special shoes and not to lose sight of the yellow brick road.
There were times when Dorothy threw caution to the wind and walked away from the path. I recall watching scenes from the movie and holding tightly to the edge of my chair in anticipation of the perils faced by Dorothy. There was the Wicked Witch of the West and her army of dutiful, misguided monkeys. There were wind storms and spells in which day was cast into night. There was even a cranky old man who pretended to be the omnificent power of the Universe.
Much like Dorothy, each of us has faced difficult times in our lives when we have found ourselves without direction and far from home. Some of us have even forgotten where home was, while some never want to return. But within the metaphysical context, home is akin to the center within each of us that is the dwelling place of the soul, which links us to our life purpose and mission.
