Your Spirit Guides Will Never Lead You Astray
“My guides must hate me! Why else would they lead me to things that cause me so much pain?” someone once said during a reading. “And where is my guardian angel when I need him?”
It was not the first time I’ve heard such sentiments from a distressed client. This kind of disappointment and frustration is not uncommon because it cuts to the heart of spiritual seeking.
It is certainly a valid concern. If angels, guides, and ancestors are meant to guide, support, and protect us, then why do they sometimes lead us to pain, heartache, and even trauma? Do they really have our backs, or are they inflicting suffering upon us for some strange reason?
I confess that there was a time in my own life when I also asked these kinds of questions.
But after years of working as a professional psychic and energy healer, as well as through my own spiritual growth journey, I’ve since come to a comforting conclusion. Our spirit helpers always operate from a place of divine wisdom, unconditional love and compassionate support.
Then why, you may ask, do bad things sometimes happen to good people? It’s simple, really. Any detour from our highest good does not occur because spirit somehow miscalculated, neglected, or misrepresented anything.
When we encounter trouble, it is usually our own doing, or something we co-created with others. Whatever the reason or cause, we alone are always the common denominator.
Below are a few examples of such self-inflicted calamities that I have repeatedly come across in my work, as well as how they differ from actual spirit guidance and divine intervention.
When The Universe Has Other Plans
The universe has its own divine timing, and when we align with it, things unfold with natural grace that almost feels magical. When something comes about easily and effortlessly, it is meant to be.
How often have we tried to force change in our lives? Whether we’re striving for a career breakthrough, financial stability, or relationship transformation, we often push, hustle, and exhaust ourselves trying to make things happen.
Yet, in the spiritual realm, there is an understanding that not all struggles lead to fruition. Sometimes, a lack of movement is not resistance but divine redirection.
I believe that some paths in life are predestined. On a soul level, we choose specific experiences —challenging or joyful — before we are born so that we may grow, learn, and evolve. Though often mysterious, these soul contracts reveal themselves through synchronicity, intuition, and even delay.
A personal experience brought this truth into sharp focus for me last year when I decided to sell my home. Despite being in a seller’s market and having a desirable, well-maintained property, I received only a few viewings and no solid offers. It was baffling. Logically, everything pointed toward a quick sale.
A trusted psychic colleague then offered to read the situation’s energy for me, since reading these matters for oneself is usually not the best idea. She told me unequivocally that the house was not meant to sell at that time.
Miracles Happen When We Release Attachment
We tend to hold on to things and people that no longer serve us. Fear keeps us attached, as does the comfort of the familiar.
The unknown can feel unsettling, even when we know deep down that letting go is the best way forward. Our attachments, whether to relationships, material possessions or past experiences, often come from emotional bonds that make letting go feel impossible.
Some people cling to relationships, even when they have been treated badly, because they do not believe they are worthy of anything better. Their self-worth is so wrapped up in the presence of the other person that the thought of leaving feels like losing a part of themselves.
Others cling to material possessions not because they need them, but because these things give them a false sense of security or define their identity in some way. The more we hold on to something, the more our energy becomes wrapped around it, creating an invisible barrier that prevents new blessings from entering our lives.
This was a hard lesson for me to learn and overcome. Years ago, I put my father’s house on the market. It had been on the market for over a year and not a single offer had come in. At first I couldn’t understand why. The house was structurally sound, in a good location and fairly priced. But despite my best efforts, no buyers came forward.
Later I realised that my own energy of resistance was preventing the sale. I was not emotionally or spiritually ready to let go. My attachment – rooted in resentment, anger and unresolved emotions – created an energetic blockage that kept potential buyers away.
A Premonition Dream Could Save Your Life!
While meditating one afternoon and deep in the alpha state, I heard a clairaudient voice say to me: “You need to get to work because someone needs the message you were given last night.”
I wasn’t feeling very social that day and definitely not in the mood to work, but the voice was crystal clear and very insistent.
I mentally asked the voice to show or tell me how and what this message could be? Almost immediately I saw my dream journal in my mind’s eye.
So I stopped the meditation session and went to get my dream journal from my nightstand. I always keep it handy, along with a clip-on night light, so I can record my dreams at any time.
Over the years, I’ve trained myself to recall significant dreams and write down as much as I can remember.
Keeping a dream journal has become incredibly valuable to me personally and in my psychic work. Dreams act as a bridge between the material world and the spirit realm, offering profound insights and guidance.
One of the greatest benefits of dream journaling is the ability to track ‘warning dreams,’ also known as premonition or precognitive dreams. These dreams are forebodings of future events, alerting us to potential dangers, challenges, or negative events that we may soon encounter in waking life.
