Why Some Of Us Must Walk Alone To Find Our Tribe
The topic of belonging comes up a lot lately in conversations with close friends, and it is often a concern for my clients when I do readings. A rise in loneliness appears to be a worldwide issue.
A conversation I had with a Spanish family recently was truly food for thought for me. We spoke about the disconnect with people in general, but the family in question strives to maintain family meetings and chats over meals, even though the younger ones spend more and more time on their phones.
One of the younger family members, told me that having a sense of community is part of his family’s religious practice. He makes a conscious effort to be disciplined about phone use when the family comes together. Hopefully, he will educate more of his peers about the importance of being present for in-person connection.
Personally, I have always tended to shy away from group gatherings, but I must say that I have been impressed by the warmth of the locals here in Spain, and their desire to include me in their community.
A few years ago, when my husband died just before Christmas, my Spanish friends in the farming community where I lived at the time told me, in no uncertain terms, that I would be joining them for Christmas and New Year’s family gatherings. I told them I’d prefer to stay home, especially considering the snow the previous Christmas that had confined us to our property for a few days.

What Makes A Spiritual Group Truly Work
We are all different. Each person is a piece of the puzzle that creates a group. All people are raised different. People may have different spiritual beliefs, different educational backgrounds, jobs, nationalities.
Yet, if the common goal is the same, there is no reason why we cannot achieve much more in our world. Some of us simply need to find a way to respect diversity.
Spiritual groups tend to be the especially challenging when it comes to diversity. Too often spiritually-minded people are expected to always agree with everyone about everything, in order to promote goodwill among group members and keep the peace.
But in any group people have to learn how to agree to disagree. It’s always okay to have your own opinion and express how you feel. One must just remember that not all of the group may agree with your thoughts.
In groups people all choose different roles, and the roles may change over time. Most groups have that one person that assumes the role of leader. The leader of the group is often selected by the majority. The leadership role usually fits the personality and consciousness of that individual, as do the other roles in the group.
The leader is usually a person that is able to communicate well with team members and good at listening to people. The ‘worker bees’ are usually good at taking direction and accomplishing the task at hand. Somewhere in the middle are the people that come up with ideas and can present them to the group, and help the suggestions come to fruition.
Nurturing Soul Bonds Beyond Rational Understanding
Psychology has provided us with invaluable tools for navigating life’s challenges. It helps us understand ourselves and each other, improves our communication, and builds stronger relationships. Whether we’re managing stress, boosting emotional intelligence, or making better decisions at work or at home, psychological insights guide us toward healthier, more connected lives.
However, there’s another layer to our existence that studying the mind alone can’t fully reach. While psychology breaks things down into patterns and causes, the soul deals in ongoing, heart-to-heart connections that go beyond intellectual discussion and analysis.
Psychology can explain why we feel anxious, how old wounds still affect us, and which coping strategies we tend to use. This kind of insight can spark real change.
However, understanding alone stops at the intellectual level. It doesn’t inspire the deeper truths and wisdom that make us feel truly alive and connected.
This is where ‘soul care,’ rather than analysis or therapy, offers a different path.
Rather than observing ourselves and others as case studies, soul care invites us to honor all our relationships — past, present, and future, as well as beyond this life — with warmth and continuity. It invites us to see friends, family, teachers, and deceased loved ones as conscious, eternal presences to be celebrated, not merely dissected.
Finding True Purpose In The Unity Of Love
There is a profound truth about life that many people don’t fully grasp until they reach the end of their journey.
Our true purpose in this life not about success, status, or the material things we accumulate. It’s about something far greater and more beautiful: love.
At the core of our existence is the simple yet powerful truth that we are all connected. That is why we must love unconditionally, share our gifts with the world, and show up for others with kindness, compassion, and authenticity.
Yet so often we get caught up in the pursuit of validation, accomplishment, and material success, only to realize – sometimes too late – that love is the greatest accomplishment of all.
Consider a drop of water falling into the ocean. Alone, it may seem small and separate. But the moment it merges with the vast ocean, it’s no longer just a drop-it becomes part of something infinite, part of every wave, every current, and every ripple.
That’s us. We are never really separate; we are all woven into the fabric of existence, flowing together in this great cosmic dance.
And when we live from love – when we choose to be present, to forgive, to uplift others – we become more than ourselves. We become a part of something timeless.
In the end, what matters most is not what we own or what we’ve accomplished, but the love we’ve given, the lives we’ve touched, and the hearts we’ve left a little warmer. Love is the thread that binds us all together, the force that carries us beyond this fleeting moment into eternity.
Surround Yourself With Love, Light And Positive People
Some people emanate a charismatic warmth and depth that is almost otherworldly. Their presence is soothing, their energy uplifting, and their kindness genuine.
These are the souls you want to stay connected with — the ones who inspire, support and nurture your growth. They bring light into your life, and in their company you feel understood, valued, and enriched. Such people are rare gems, and when you find them, you cherish them.
On the other hand, some people remain stagnant in their personal growth and soul evolution. They resist change and cling to old patterns and limiting beliefs. Again, this is part of the human experience, and it is not for others to judge.
Instead, I imagine them finding their own path elsewhere. I envision them thriving, but at a distance from my own journey. It is not selfish to protect your own energy; it is necessary for your health and well-being.
Then there are those who seem perpetually stuck in a schoolyard mentality, indulging in gossip and petty rivalries. Although they have grown physically, their emotional and spiritual maturity lags behind. The game of “grapevine” is their chosen pastime, spreading rumors, conspiracy theories and toxic negativity.
These individuals serve as a spiritual reminder of what we must rise above. Instead of engaging them, release them with love – let them be do their karmic growth somewhere else, far from your peace and joy. Continue reading
The Freedom To Live Your Truth
Honesty is one of those things we all know is important, but let’s face it — it’s not always the easiest option. Telling the truth often does not win you friends, make your family happy, or help you climb the corporate ladder.
But when you’re on a spiritual journey or facing a karmic reckoning — the truth is everything! It’s not just about being a better person; it’s about living in alignment with your higher self.
Being honest brings a sense of lightness, like a weight lifted from your shoulders. It frees you from the heavy burden of keeping up appearances and the stress of worrying about what others think.
On the other hand, dishonesty — whether it’s a little white lie or a big deception — creates not only tension, guilt, and physical discomfort; it’s a karmic tumor that poisons your soul, fueling a cycle of chaos and imbalance in your life.
Lies and deceit attract confusion, mistrust, and disharmony, disrupts your energy field and throws your whole being out of balance.
This is why it is said that the truth will set you free. You’ve probably heard the saying? It’s been said so many times that it may sound like a cliché, but there is deep wisdom in it. The truth allows us to live without fear, without constantly looking over our shoulder. It brings clarity and peace.
But let’s face it — truth can be scary. We often avoid it because we don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings, rock the boat, or face rejection.
