The Time I Visited All My Pets In The Afterlife
Life has become much clearer to me over the years. But not in the usual way you might expect.
Having a Near Death Experience (NDE) during surgery at the age of 34, plus practicing as a professional psychic reader fo over 46 years, changes your outlook on life and death in many ways.
One of the questions my clients sometimes ask is, “Do pets go to Heaven?” From my lived experience, the answer is a resounding, yes!
During my NDE, I remember quickly rising up through a tunnel toward a light so bright I had to squint my eyes. I then arrived in a space that felt like the outside of an elevator. It was some kind of ‘in-between area.’
As I stepped inside, every pet I had ever loved in my life up to that moment was gathered around my feet, tails wagging, overjoyed to see me. Dogs and cats…they were all there!
So yes, in my experience, your pets will be there to greet you, just as mine were. On the other side, there are animals of all kinds, peacefully coexisting and filled with joy. I have no doubt our pets in Heaven know when we are coming home to join them. They wait for us with open hearts.
In Heaven, if you wish to have a home, you will. What you think becomes your reality there. So, of course, your beloved pets will once again live with you. They are already running, playing, and waiting for you and you will recognize each one of them.
The Who’s Who Of The Spirit Realm
Communicating and working with Spirit can become confusing when you need to discern who exactly it is that you are engaging with.
Terms like Spirit Guides, Ascended Masters, Angels, Ancestors, among other, are often used in this context, but the distinction between these entities is not always made clear. It can be very confusing.
For this reason, I have compiled a quick guide to the ‘who’s who’ of the spirit realm, and how to best work with each group of spirit energies.
Angels
Angelic beings are pure Love and Light. Angels have never experienced a human incarnation. They serve as our guides and protectors.
Angels are our constant guides, steering us on our journey through life and helping us to achieve our dreams and goals.
They gently nudge us forward along our life path and deliver to us unconditional love from the Divine, but only if we ask for their support.
They never overstep the Law of Free Will, unless it is a life-threatening situation that demands divine intervention.
You know you are in contact with an Angel if you feel warm ‘tingles,’ and a sense of unconditional love, inner peace and well-being.
What Happens To Our Pets When They Cross Over
I am an animal lover. Since childhood, I have been blessed to share my heart and home with numerous cats and dogs. These beloved companions have filled my life with joy, unconditional love, and countless cherished memories.
However, as many pet owners know all too well, this deep bond also brings the inevitable heartache of loss. Saying goodbye to a furry friend is one of the most painful experiences one can face.
Through my work in energy healing and mediumship, I have gained deep insight into what happens to animals after they die. I hope to offer some comfort and understanding to those who are grieving the loss of a pet.
In my experience communicating with animals in spirit, I have found that most pets remain close to their human companions after death. This transition can last for days, weeks, or even months.
Many animal souls remain close to their former physical home, still connected to the familiar energy of their human family. For them, the concept of death is not as immediate or final as it is for us. They do not always immediately realize that they are no longer in their physical bodies.
I often encourage clients who are grieving a pet to create quiet moments in their home to become more spiritually aware. By slowing down and sitting in mindful silence, many people notice subtle signs of their deceased pet’s presence.
Clients have told me remarkable stories over the years of hearing the familiar bark or meow of their departed companion, feeling the gentle pressure of their pet curled up next to them, or hearing the sound of paws tapping on the floor. Some have even heard the jangling of their pet’s collar or the scratching at the door that they used to hear every day.
Our Pets Speak To Us In This Life And Beyond
Some of the most beautiful messages I’ve received as a medium have come from departed pets.
They bring messages of love, gratitude, and reassurance that they still walk beside their human companions in spirit. They also offer wisdom and insight into their owners’ lives from their unique perspective.
It is deeply moving to experience the enduring love of a pet from the other side. The grief of losing a pet is often unacknowledged or misunderstood, yet it is real and important to process and share.
It has been several years since we said goodbye to our beloved family dog, Lucy. She passed away in 2016, just before her 17th birthday, and I can never fully express the love and joy she brought to our lives.
By sharing how she helped me communicate with her – both in life and after her passing – I hope her story can help you feel a deeper connection with your own pets on the other side.
Lucy’s story began just before Christmas of 1999. Our trip was to buy storage boxes for an upcoming move, but instead we came home with a puppy in a box! From that day on, she burst into our lives and our hearts.
For a little dog, she lived such a full life. Wherever we went, she followed – by boat, by plane, even across continents when we moved to Dubai. She reminded us that as long as we were together, life was one big tail-wagging adventure.
The Mystery Of Soul Groups And Soul Contracts
In my work as a spiritual counselor to many people around the world, I have learned that we all belong to soul groups or families, and that each of us chooses to participate in our current lifetime in a certain way based on a pre-birth soul agreement or contract that we commit to before we come into this world.
I like to think of it as “auditioning for a play.’ Before we incarnate, we can choose to be in a comedy, a drama, an action, a horror, an epic adventure, or even a combination of all of these. We can also choose to take a central leading role, or just be a supporting cast member, or perhaps even a cameo or extra taking a background position.
What position are we willing and ready to take? This in itself can be a great karmic challenge as well as a profound learning experience. For example, if we have chosen a role that has caused grief or harm in a previous life, we will return in this life to try to resolve these latent karmic issues. If we are successful, it is wonderful because we can then pursue a completely different role or existence, or move on to something completely different in a future role.
Soul groups consist of a circle of souls with whom we have shared previous lives and are likely to meet in future lives. These groups are our spiritual families, and the members play different roles in each other’s lives through the process of soul evolution. We continually change roles in different lifetimes with other members of our soul group to facilitate learning and growth.
By interacting with these familiar souls from lifetime to lifetime, we create ongoing scenarios that karmically challenge us, assist us in our soul growth and evolution, and ultimately lead us to a state of spiritual fulfillment and enlightenment where our soul has transcended material limitations and reached its highest potential.
The Angels, Spirits And Mystical Beings That Walk Among Us
When I was very young, I had a strange dream. I was in the living room of our house, and it was very late at night. I dreamed that I went to the window. The curtains were closed, but I pushed them aside to look out. There I saw a vision that I will never forget.
In our front yard stood an old woman with white hair. She was holding what looked like a glowing rock or quartz crystal.
I remember thinking to myself that this was all very strange, that it might not be good for her to be standing there in the cold so late at night. But I also remember not feeling surprised or scared. Instead, I felt comforted and curious at the same time.
Then the old lady turned around, as if she had noticed me. But instead of looking at me, she bent down, gently dropped the glowing crystal on the grass, and walked away.
Twenty years later, I was at the checkout counter in a supermarket and noticed an unusual old lady nearby. Something about her told me she was a very special soul. We are all unique, of course, but this lady was definitely not from around here! She was wearing vintage fashion that was clearly from the 1920s. Before I could figure out why she drew my attention, she started walking toward me.
Spiritual Is Sometimes Just Coffee, Cats, And Crochet
When I’m not working, spirit still comes to me when I’m in a very relaxed, mindful state. This often happens when I’m having my early morning coffee. Usually it is my guides telling me what to focus on for the day.
Sometimes I also perceive the name of a client who will be contacting me that day, or some information about a person in my life, or even a warning about something I need to be aware of.
The communication is always very clear, direct and significant, so I have made it a habit to always have my journal with me, especially when I have my morning coffee. That way I don’t miss or forget anything, as I sometimes did in the early days.
I also often receive spirit messages when I spend time with my sweet cats. Cats are little Zen Reiki healers, their purrs have a hertz frequency that is very healing and conducive to a spiritual state of mind. For some reason I can also see people’s auras better when the cats are around.
Another time my psychic awareness is heightened is when I am crocheting and suddenly I just know things. I “zone out” a bit and then answers just come to me about things I have been wondering about for myself and those I love.
