The Truth About Dragons
Dragons are often relegated to the realm of myth, but in my experience the energy of these beings can serve as an ally in our everyday life. Dragons in the western tradition tend to have a bad rap. For example, in some Judeo-Christian theology, the dragon is considered a symbol . When I first encountered this type of being in my own life I was taken aback. My roots stem from the Judeo-Christian tradition and much of my training and personal evolution stems from this background.
In eastern cultures, dragons are looked upon in much the same way westerners consider angels. These beings bring with them blessings, help, and unique power to facilitate change. Dragons are also represented in the Biblical tradition as well, but they have a different name.
Several years ago, I had my first encounter with a dragon-like being. When I saw it I heard the word seraph, even though at the time I had little familiarity with the term. I looked up the term and the literal meaning of the word is, ‘flaming serpent.’
In my experience, the creature looked exactly like the traditional conceptualization of a dragon, with a few minor differences. I realized after this first encounter I had interacted with a seraph – one of the classes of angels. Continue reading
Changed Life Is A Mission Accomplished
From time to time a client will ask me how I manage to stay focused when people so frequently seek the same advice over and over. “I don’t know how you put up with me,” they might say.
Well, in all honestly, I don’t feel I am ‘putting up’ with them at all. On the contrary, I feel honored that they feel safe enough to share their concerns with me. If it’s important to them… then it’s important.
What does concern me, however, is that I will be able to offer them some helpful direction and healing during a time which must feel to them like they are in a dark pit of hopelessness, or that the rug has been pulled from under them. They are often in shock over an incident, usually connected to a relationship or a career. But there always is an answer, or a solution. Continue reading
When Your Child Is Your Spiritual Coach
Coming from a family who never communicated their personal feelings, I learned a lot about the importance of communication between age groups in my early teens, when I was sent to live with a Dutch family with three children for several months.
I always admired their closeness, but it wasn’t until I actually moved in with them, that I realized just how far their caring and sharing went towards feeling part of such a close knit family. They prayed together too, and included me, always asking for healing for my mother who was having treatment at the time for her ‘nervous condition.’
In later years, as a recovering alcoholic in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), I would often hear the expression, “A family that prays together, stays together.” I am sure this family has stayed close all these years, even though we have lost touch. Continue reading
The Key Elements To Infinite Possibilities
What is it that your life is full of? What have you attracted, what do you wish to change? A trip into the mind is imperative to review our past experiences and emotions, because mindset is paramount for true success. Success in career. Success in relationships. Success in finances. Success in mind.
There are countless success stories of individuals who had fewer opportunities early in life. Some came from poverty, some from a broken home. They often provide clear evidence that through the mindset of knowing that our accomplishments rest in our choices, all possibilities can exist. For centuries sacred teachings have known these principles. We in the West have not embraced them until recently. Continue reading
The Spiritual Lesson Of Depression
Although I have experienced some depression, as we all do from time to time, I have never experienced the extreme depths of darkness and despair that some people do. I sincerely hope that through my psychic work I am able to alleviate some of that dark cloud of gloom and fear for them. There is usually emphasis in these psychic readings on how, one day, when they look back, they will no longer be able to imagine how awful it felt when they used to be in that black hole of depression.
Such was the situation with one of my clients, who later became a friend. She is a psychic herself, and was being severely judged when she couldn’t keep her appointments or dates with customers and family. Naturally, there were a few understanding individuals, but I felt that most were blatantly judging her as ‘flaky’ and unreliable.
We weren’t in contact every day, but when we were, I was aware of what she was going through, and I could only encourage her with the great things I saw ahead for her in her wonderful work for spirit. The Spirit world were using me as a medium to assure her that they were going to help her heal, and will then encourage her to get back to work. Continue reading
Following What Is True for You
Have you ever noticed that whenever you really enjoy what you’re doing, it’s as though there seems to be an energy flow or undercurrent carrying you? Don’t you wish you could live this way all the time?
Unfortunately, it seems too often we fall prey to worrying about what others might think of us, or we choose the practical path or the road most traveled. We get caught in the trap of following the opinions of others, rather than tuning in and listening to our own inner guidance.
When you follow the flow of what is true for you, it doesn’t mean you are shirking your responsibilities. It also doesn’t mean you are being selfish. It simply means you are choosing moment to moment what feels right. We are influenced every day by society’s standards of what’s right, and we seldom do a self check-in instead. Continue reading
Does Your Life Own You?
Addressing our desires, needs, goals and actions is imperative as we go through life. Ideally this happens on a regular and consistent basis. Yet, life sometimes has the uncanny ability to delay our well-defined plans, or simply start it without us. It can also unexpectedly speed up our plans.
If you reflect on your current life status, are there aspects of it that make you cringe a little? Is your career, financial health, relationship, or family life in a space where you are just ‘getting by.’ Are you living month to month on your paycheck? Stuck in a stagnant relationship? Do you hate your job? Feeling overwhelmed?
If such feelings are prevalent, then it indicates that your life owns you, instead of you owning your life. Your life owns you when your everyday routine consists mostly of elements of necessity, not of desirous choice.
There is no doubt that modern society has burdened us with the pressures to succeed, to pay the bills, to live where we live. Navigating the meandering river of our material needs occupies much space in our mind. My brain hurts! Continue reading
