Your Self-Imposed Prison Of Thought
You reap what you sow. As a man thinketh, so he is. You are what you eat. Create a vision board, hold that thought and see your goal come to fruition. What we think is what we manifest.
These are probably some of the most common and regularly used phrases to redesign and renovate the thoughts and movements of our lives. They work for some people, when placed in the scope of their reality. But why work only for some and not for others?
The answer I received from spirit was odd, to say the least: “One thousand times in his head he is in a big, famous prison.” This is what was related to me in my sleep state and Spirit must have felt it was of some importance, because they chose to wake me from a sound sleep in order to hear the message clearly… and resoundingly.
My first thought was: what on earth is this? What could it possibly mean? Then, as I delved into it further, I could discovered the true meaning.
The only famous prison I am personally aware of is Alcatraz. Just saying that name sends shudders to many people who have actually visited the place.
Next I thought of a human being found guilty of a crime and then have the most severe punishment handed out, of being sent to that dreadful place. I can only imagine what that must be like: locked up for an indeterminate amount of time, no freedom, and only periodically getting out for a breather. Imagine the rest of the inmates, the fearing for your safety and the struggle to survive. Continue reading
Spirit Is Always With You
How do you connect with the spirit inside of you? Ponder this question for a moment. Then shut your eyes, breathe deeply three times… and ponder this question again.
Spirit is always inside of you. It does not take a time out to go get a coffee, or have a nap. Spirit simply is a part of you that never dies. When you close your eyes and simply breathe, you will feel lighter. That is spirit trying to be more prominent than the ego. Spirit never causes stress, discomfort, unease or negativity. Spirit is pure 100% unconditional love, and every person has this inside of them.
However, as you move forward in life, ego will always try to override spirit, whether in decision-making or choices that are important (or simple). Ego can create discomfort, doubt, fear and the wrong type of attitude to live a spirit-filled, love-filled life.
How do you change these patterns? At least once a day, simply sit, breathe slowly, eyes closed, hands on lap. No parts of your body should be crossed, i.e. legs, arms or hands. Now feel the essence of your true spirit flowing in your body and around your soul. Feel the essence of goodness that comes to you from this energy. Continue reading
The Truth About Dragons
Dragons are often relegated to the realm of myth, but in my experience the energy of these beings can serve as an ally in our everyday life. Dragons in the western tradition tend to have a bad rap. For example, in some Judeo-Christian theology, the dragon is considered a symbol . When I first encountered this type of being in my own life I was taken aback. My roots stem from the Judeo-Christian tradition and much of my training and personal evolution stems from this background.
In eastern cultures, dragons are looked upon in much the same way westerners consider angels. These beings bring with them blessings, help, and unique power to facilitate change. Dragons are also represented in the Biblical tradition as well, but they have a different name.
Several years ago, I had my first encounter with a dragon-like being. When I saw it I heard the word seraph, even though at the time I had little familiarity with the term. I looked up the term and the literal meaning of the word is, ‘flaming serpent.’
In my experience, the creature looked exactly like the traditional conceptualization of a dragon, with a few minor differences. I realized after this first encounter I had interacted with a seraph – one of the classes of angels. Continue reading
Changed Life Is A Mission Accomplished
From time to time a client will ask me how I manage to stay focused when people so frequently seek the same advice over and over. “I don’t know how you put up with me,” they might say.
Well, in all honestly, I don’t feel I am ‘putting up’ with them at all. On the contrary, I feel honored that they feel safe enough to share their concerns with me. If it’s important to them… then it’s important.
What does concern me, however, is that I will be able to offer them some helpful direction and healing during a time which must feel to them like they are in a dark pit of hopelessness, or that the rug has been pulled from under them. They are often in shock over an incident, usually connected to a relationship or a career. But there always is an answer, or a solution. Continue reading
Fishing With An Angel
It was early afternoon when my friend Barry and his long-time fishing buddy, Keven, were to head north to the pier, to catch whitefish. Right before he was ready to go he received some news from Keven that their mutual friend Steve had passed in his sleep the night before. Keven said he was now too depressed to go fishing with him, but wished him luck if he decided to go on his own.
I encouraged Barry to go. I felt it would be good for him to have some time alone. He could think about his friend who passed, remember sweet memories shared between them.
I didn’t hear him come back home later, as I was fast asleep, but when I awoke in the middle of the night, I looked in the cooler to see how many fish he’d caught. It was filled up pretty good with whitefish. I was happy to know that he had a productive fishing trip, and I fell back to sleep. Continue reading
