Paranormal, Or Perinormal?
When we hear the word “paranormal,” we often think of ghosts, psychic abilities, or UFO sightings. But what does the term really mean?
Many of us have had moments that feel mysterious or beyond our understanding — experiences that challenge the way we see the world. What’s interesting is that these experiences aren’t always “paranormal” in the traditional sense — they may actually be “perinormal.”
Understanding the difference between these two ideas can help us see our everyday experiences in a new light, making it easier to connect with the mystical side of life without feeling overwhelmed by the unknown.
“The word “paranormal” comes from the Greek word “para,” which means “outside” or “beyond” normal. It refers to things that are beyond the limits of what we can scientifically measure or explain.
Paranormal experiences, such as ghost sightings or psychic phenomena, defy logic and leave a lasting impact on those who experience them. They’re those mystical or supernatural experiences that break the rules of reality and are completely “outside of normal.”
“Perinormal, on the other hand, comes from the word “peri,” meaning “around” or “near.”. These experiences are on the edge of “normal” — they’re those things we sense, feel, or observe that are related to subtle, measurable energies or natural laws, but also remain mysterious and unexplained.
Perinormal experiences show us that the spiritual and mystical are often much closer to reality than we realize – they just exist in a space we do not yet fully understand, or perhaps never will?
The Magic Of Dowsing Stands The Test Of Time
Dowsing, also known as “divining” or “water witching,” is an ancient practice that uses a tool such as a pendulum or divining rod to locate what is hidden, most commonly underground water, minerals, or lost items. it is also a divination method used to tap into the unseen or mystical to gain spiritual, psychic, or energetic insights.
While skeptics dismiss it as pseudoscience, dowsing has persisted in many cultures for thousands of years, standing the test of time as a mysterious blend of mysticism and physics. I believe its continued presence throughout history speaks to its importance and continued relevance in today’s technological society.
Dowsing has ancient roots dating back thousands of years, although its exact historical beginnings remain uncertain. Archaeological evidence suggests that the practice dates back to ancient Egypt and China, where early civilizations used rudimentary dowsing techniques to locate water and minerals. Cave paintings in North Africa from around 8000 B.C. depict people holding forked sticks, which many experts believe may be dowsing rods.
The ancient Greeks and Romans were also familiar with dowsing, especially for locating underground water sources. They considered the dowsing rod or pendulum a sacred tool capable of tapping into hidden energies. It was believed that certain materials, especially wood or metal, could act as conduits for detecting invisible forces in the earth.
In the Middle Ages, dowsing became more widely practiced in Europe, often by miners searching for metal veins, especially during the mining booms in Germany and England. However, due to its inexplicable, mystical nature, dowsing also increasingly became associated with the occult and witchcraft, leading to its condemnation by the church.
Always Keep An Open Mind In Psychic Readings
In high school, I predicted that a friend of mine would lose something valuable and then have a car accident shortly thereafter.
I also warned him that the loss of something valuable would be an omen: a sign from the universe for him to be more careful and responsible.
He looked at me like I was crazy.
A few months later he lost his wallet because he had been careless. He later told me it reminded him of what I had said and it shook him up enough to start being more careful in his daily life. He even stopped his bad habit of never using his seat belt when driving.
Good thing he did. A few months later, he drove his car off a cliff! The police officer told him that he would have been killed if he had not been wearing his seat belt.
He brought up the story at our ten-year high school reunion and praised me as the person who saved his life. Of course, I did not mention the eye-rolling and “you’re crazy” look he gave me at the time. Besides, saying “I told you so” is not very dignified.
Not much has changed since high school. As a professional psychic, I still have to tell my clients things that makes them doubt our connection or my ability, and sometimes even my sanity! You learn to suck it up and deal with the raised eyebrows and side-eyes.
I understand how it feels for them, because I have had to keep an open mind as a psychic client, too. Many years ago, a medium told me that I would also work as a psychic one day. I thought this was really strange because I had been in the performing arts most of my life, and in my mind there was no way she could be right. But here I am today. Even psychics don’t always know where life is taking them.
Toxic Friendships: End It, Or Mend It?
Like all relationships, friendships have their ups and downs, testing the bonds that bind us together.
A true friend is someone who genuinely wants the best for you, celebrates your victories, and supports you through challenges. They offer encouragement, share your joys, and lend a sympathetic ear during difficult times.
The presence of true friends adds value to your life and fosters growth and positivity. You have a healthy friendship that thrives on mutual respect and care, where both parties feel uplifted and inspired to be their best selves.
In stark contrast, a toxic friend is often self-absorbed, putting their own needs and desires above all else. They manipulate situations to get what they want, with little regard for how their actions affect your happiness.
This type of friendship can feel draining, leaving you emotionally drained and questioning your self-worth. Instead of celebrating your achievements, a toxic friend may resort to jealousy or criticism, undermining your confidence.
Toxic friendships can deeply affect our emotional and mental well-being, often leaving us feeling drained and undervalued. These relationships are characterized by manipulation, constant criticism, and lack of support, creating an environment where one party consistently takes more than they give.
The dynamic can include jealousy, competition, or even emotional abuse, making it difficult to feel safe and authentic. Over time, toxic friendships can lead to diminished self-esteem and increased stress, underscoring the importance of recognizing and addressing these unhealthy connections.
The Missed Opportunities Of Prophetic Predictions
Psychics and mediums are mostly known only for giving personalized predictions and spiritual advice tailored to individual clients. People often come to us for help with personal issues such as relationships, career choices, and other life concerns.
But there’s a bigger picture that doesn’t get as much attention: the role of some highly gifted psychics in making large-scale predictions that address collective challenges or foresee major events that affect everyone. These larger prophecies, such as warnings of natural disasters, economic crises, or global conflicts, are often unrecognized, overlooked, and even ridiculed.
Large-scale prophecies can have a big impact on the greater good if they were to be taken more seriously. If documented and acted upon, they can help society prepare for significant events and improve overall well-being.
In our modern world, the value of prophetic insights from today’s psychics and mediums is more relevant than ever. While prophecy may seem outdated compared to modern science and technology, these predictions can help us navigate the uncertainties and complexities of the future.
At their core, prophetic predictions are warning messages from the spirit realm, universal consciousness, the divine. They’re not random or whimsical; they’re meant to guide humanity by giving us glimpses into possible future scenarios. These visions are also not meant to interfere with our free will, but to alert us to possible outcomes so that we can take proactive steps to prevent or mitigate any negative effects.
Angels And Miracles On The Battlefield
I remember my grandfather telling my mother about the atrocities of World War I. He was a young soldier at the time, fighting for his country in the trenches of France. My favorite part was the fascinating stories he told about the Angel of Mons.
The story of the “Angel of Mons” comes from the Battle of Mons, which took place on August 23 and 24, 1914. During the battle, British soldiers reported seeing angelic figures or supernatural beings who gave them divine protection against the German forces.
Although some called the Angel of Mons a myth, the general public chose to believe that spiritual intervention had thwarted a German breakthrough. After all, miracles can happen anywhere, right? These events were later popularized by Arthur Machen’s fictional story The Bowmen.
The British Army, part of the British Expeditionary Force, faced overwhelming German forces and suffered heavy casualties. They were forced to retreat as part of the larger retreat to the Marne, known as the “Great Retreat”.
Some British soldiers reported seeing supernatural beings during the battle. These reports included sightings of figures resembling longbow archers, specifically the phantom archers from the Battle of Agincourt (1415), and also angelic warriors.
Some soldiers also reported seeing a figure resembling St. George, a major figure in Christian hagiography, revered for his unwavering faith, courage, and the legendary deeds attributed to him. His story has been influential in Christian mysticism and has become a symbol of chivalry and heroism.
Protect Yourself From Psychic Scams
Over the past two decades of doing psychic readings, I have heard of many scams and frauds in my field.
It always saddens me when I hear about it, especially when I see firsthand the pain and devastation it causes the victims when some of them come to me for help. I have had to do a lot of clean up and damage control with clients who have unknowingly fallen victim to these types of scams.
Psychic scammers also make my work so much harder and ruin the reputation of authentic psychics everywhere. Psychic-related fraud leaves a bad taste in people’s mouths and makes the public doubt those of us who are genuine and well-intentioned.
To add insult to injury the criminal activity of these so-called “psychics” is something the media loves to report because of its sensational nature. Rarely do you see news reports of legitimate psychics helping to change, heal and even save lives.
With the rise of the internet, smart phones, social media and more recently artificial intelligence (AI), it has become much easier for scammers to defraud their victims in many new ways. Sometimes I feel that there are more fraudsters these days than at any time in my career. Or maybe they are just more visible now?
