Living With Lady Luck!
Are you closely acquainted with Lady Luck, or is she a stranger to your life? To be lucky or not depends on your personal view on luck. If you see luck as being pure chance and something you have absolutely no control over, then this will become your reality experience. Should you, on the other hand, see luck as that moment when opportunity and careful preparation finally come together, then this should have a massive impact on how much good luck you receive in your life!
Search your memory for the last time you bought a lottery ticket and what went through your mind when you did? Did you just put it away, not think about it and tell yourself that you never win anyway? Were your thoughts on something else, or did you conjure up some images as to how great it would be when you take your prize home? Hardly surprising what the outcome was, is it?
What we call luck is the inner man externalized. We make things happen to us ~ Robertson Davies
No, I am not suggesting you rush out and buy a load of lottery tickets and have blind faith that one, at least, will win big time, as that would also be the road to ruin. I am, however, suggesting that you try to adopt a more optimistic mind set as to what you can expect to attract into your life.
Our very beliefs define the energy frequency at which we vibrate and this, in turn, creates our attraction point. In simple terms, it is incredibly hard to attract good luck if you feel that you do not deserve it, or it is just downright impossible.
So, where do these beliefs come from? Did you grow up in a negative or overly critical environment? I know that I did, and I also know, from experience, that this being the case, things very rarely went right for me. I have lived as a skeptical pessimist myself and I now know, first hand, that having an optimistic outlook certainly gives off the right vibration and attracts good fortune as a result.
All well and good, but just how does one stop thinking that Lady Luck will continually pass you by, and adopt a healthier mindset instead? In short, you need a strategy and here are some good ones:
Write It Down
Start by carrying a notepad in your pocket or bag. Whenever a negative thought like never or always pops into your head, write it down. By carrying out this exercise, it should really help to increase your awareness of your typical daily thoughts, and ultimately help you to uproot any deep-rooted negative beliefs you may have and replace them with healthier and more positive ones. Doing so will make a huge difference to your life.
I’m a greater believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it ~ Thomas Jefferson
Before you retire for the evening, take out your journal, peruse those negative thoughts and write a contrasting positive thought in the column opposite. If you do not have a close friend with you at the time, you could always call upon your guardian angels for some added inspiration while doing this. Once completed, you will find that you have a definite answer for all of your negative beliefs! How powerful is that?
Therefore, every time your internal critic puts in an appearance and recites the negative to you, you can then challenge this belief with a new and more positive one. The more you do this, the more you will rewrite your internal script of negative thoughts and attract positive outcomes.
For example, instead of telling yourself that you are going to be interrogated by your future mother-in-law, tell yourself instead that you are going to find out some interesting things about her – as she will with you. When going to a party, instead of saying you have, as usual, nothing to wear. Put it to yourself instead that you have some beautiful items in your wardrobe that will look fabulous on you at the event… and you are going to have great fun accessorizing them!
Consider The Company You Keep
Has your negative thinking become a life-long habit? Should this be so, then you may find that your family and friends try to draw you back to your former way of thinking. However, like does attract like, and therefore it may become necessary for you to take a careful look at the company you are keeping.
True, this can be the hardest thing to do, but if you wanted to give up the unhealthy habit of smoking cigarettes, then you would not want to socialize with a group of smokers, would you? Equally, if cutting down on the amount of alcohol you are consuming, you would not spend most of your leisure time down at the local pub.
Luck, good or bad, is the invisible play of mind upon affairs, the effect of mental aptitudes and habits which are not in sight, but which work and bring forth their due issues ~ James Vila Blake
Truly, if you want to rub shoulders with Lady Luck on a regular basis, then you need to be most careful of the company you keep. However, if you cannot find any upbeat people to interact with, then consider reading inspirational books and watching uplifting videos. Spend your leisure time wisely.
Keep The Positivity Flowing
By writing down just one good thing that has happened to you every day, it should help to continually strengthen your level of optimism. Yes, you can find something inspiring to write about, even if it was someone you don’t know giving you a warm smile on the way to work. Whatever the positive event may have been, just record it in your gratitude journal. Do this for 30 days and see what happens! You may just find that Lady Luck herself has meanwhile shown up in your life. And if you treat her right, by keeping the correct mindset, she will never again walk out on you, but become your life-long companion instead.
