George Michael sang about it, prayers have been written about it, songs have been sung about it… and yet it remains a mystery to so many. So, I put forth this question to you: what is faith and where does it come from?
Right now there is either silence on your end, or a rapid fire response. Or maybe you are saying, “Well, let me think about it.”
They say faith moves mountains, but then that begs the question: do you have Faith in faith? That’s a different concept altogether – one that must be looked at.
It’s easy to go to your preferred place of worship on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, or whenever it is that you attend. Lovely. Absolutely. Without a doubt. There you show your faith. How To Create Your Sacred Space
I used to get rather uptight about whether or not I was dedicating enough preparation time prior to seeing clients, both for psychic readings and energy healing sessions. That was until I visited a well-known elderly spiritualist, who lives in the countryside outside of Johannesburg, South Africa.
His words to me were, “You work with those on the other side, just like I do, but I feel you fret and think the preparation needs to be a lengthy process”. He was right, I was anxious as to whether the prep time with my guides was ample before sessions began. “I just want you to ‘set your intention’ each morning before you begin,” he concluded. Hearing him say that felt like a load off my shoulders. For me, keeping it simple was what I learned years ago in Alcoholics Anonymous, and of course it works. Contact After Death – How Long Does It Take?
I have been asked how long it takes a soul, recently crossed over, to come back and connect with a loved one. This is particularly a concern for those souls who depart in a violent manner or through illness, and often at a young age.
I’ve learned through experience that the actual time in our Earth time can be different from soul to soul. It tends to depend on the belief system of the person prior to them returning to spirit, because if they didn’t believe there would be a time of ‘orientation’ to their new surrounds.
Sometimes people will come to me for a mediumship reading hoping to connect with a loved one who recently passed away, and they would be disappointed when they don’t get any messages from the individual they had hoped to connect with. The Calling Cards Of Spirit Whispers
I was thirteen years old, and out walking with my father when he said, “I want to talk to you about something”. I thought, “Oh no, is this going to be a talk about the birds and the bees!” And then he began, not a talk about the facts of life, but a little chat about what he called ‘The Spooks’.
My dad spoke about his conversion from atheist to spiritualist some ten years earlier. He told me how my mother had taken a bet with him and he lost. Losing meant he would have to accompany her to a spiritualist church in London. He went to the spiritualist church one Sunday night when Joseph Benjamin, a well-known medium, was on the platform.
Even standing right at the back didn’t stop this medium homing in on my father with a message from his recently deceased father. The message blew my dad away, especially when through Joseph Benjamin he was getting told off by his father about the way the tools he’d inherited were rusting away with neglect in the shed, amongst other things. Awakening, reconnecting and realigning with the Divine Self is no doubt the most important first step in personal spiritual growth, individuation and ultimate transcendence. To rediscover your Higher Self and tap into your Higher Consciousness is usually a very awe-inspiring and life-changing experience. But your new found spiritual awareness and rediscovered Divine origins may soon lose its power to transform your life if you do not adopt a new lifestyle that includes some kind of consistent spiritual practice.
Divine Living and spiritual practice goes hand in hand. A Divine Life is impossible to achieve without some form of regular spiritual practice, in order to increase and maintain your connection and alignment with the Divine Self. What you come to know and believe about your own spiritual origins is meaningless, unless you have a direct and personal daily experience of receiving guidance from your inner Divinity. Care Of The Soul
One radical difference between care of the soul and a great deal of modern psychological work is that the former offers a profound appreciation for the personalities who are important in our lives, even if they are flawed people and even if the relationship is not perfect. Psychology prefers to analyze with the goal of increased understanding, yet understanding does little for the soul.
Imagine telling stories of those that have crossed over, not for insight into ourselves, but simply to establish a deep, continuing relationship with them. The soul is given eternity in that exchange, while understanding offers it little more than another fragment of logic. It has nothing to do with establishing a home for the infinite within our finite lives. Continue reading
If Only We Had Some Patience In A Bottle
What is one of the most valuable commodities that anyone can possess in this day and age? What is the one precious thing we all seem to lack?
I believe that, given the opportunity, some of us would even trade all of our earthly possessions for a lifelong supply of this magical substance. It is the one thing that can secure us so much happiness, inner peace and long-term fulfillment.
Have you guessed what this ‘eighth wonder of the world’ is? Well, it is the virtue of patience, of course!
The Dutch say that “a handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains”. There is no doubt in my mind that should some genius be able to develop a magical formula to capture patience in a bottle, that person would overnight become the wealthiest and most famous person on the planet!
