What Is It Like To Be Psychic?
I have been asked many time what it is like to be psychic? I have always felt this to be an odd question, because in my mind I am just an ordinary human being, the same as everyone else.
We are all born with our own particular gifts and talents. Mine just happens to be a sixth sense.
Everyone of us is unique in our own special way. I just happen to have certain psychic abilities. I feel I was given these gifts to help people, to offer them insight and guidance from the spirit realm.
In the time of the European witch persecutions of the 16th century, and the American witch trials of the 17th century in Salem, people like me were often called ‘witches.’ At the time it was the only understanding people had as to why someone would know things they are not supposed not know.
Throughout human history people like me have been honored and appreciated, but also mocked, shunned and persecuted.
People tend to fear what they do not understand, and it continues to this day. Many people remain skeptical of psychic and paranormal phenomena. To them it just cannot be real. I can assure you it is.
Many more people in the world actually have psychic abilities, but because it is so misunderstood, they just do not know it, or they simply choose not to recognize, accept, or use it. These gifted individuals ‘know’ or ‘sense’ things, but choose not to call themselves a ‘psychic.’
How To Get More From Your Next Psychic Reading
There are several ways you can ensure to get the most from a spiritual reading session with a psychic or medium.
Firstly, proper etiquette is important. Show respect for Spirit by being prepared for your reading. Have your questions ready. Clear your mind. Focus on what is being said and what you can learn. If you are not sure of the context, ask for clarity.
There are also things you should refrain from doing during an online or phone psychic reading.
Do not pour drinks, go to the bathroom, turn on the TV, or let the dog out during your reading. You would not do those things if you were in person at the psychic’s office. Get those things out of the way before you call.

Psychic Tools And A Book Of Raffle Tickets
Psychics and mediums are always learning. Often, our clients become some of our greatest teachers, reflecting spiritual truths and new insights back to us in unexpected ways.
One of the most enriching aspects of my spiritual journey has been participating in a small mediumship development group. We regularly meet to hone our mediumistic skills under the guidance of our wonderful mentor, who brings a touch of playfulness to our sessions.
At our most recent meeting, she introduced a fascinating psychic exercise using a book of raffle tickets. Each of us were asked to tear out a ticket identical in color to preserve anonymity and place it in a container.
Then we each drew a ticket at random to be paired with someone. The idea was to tune into the energy of the person whose ticket we had drawn and offer a psychic reading based solely on that energetic connection. Though similar to psychometry, the process felt slightly different and refreshingly new.
The reading I received from the person who picked my ticket turned out to be quite accurate. They picked up on discomfort in my foot, which made me laugh because I had been dealing with an ingrown toenail that morning. It was a small detail, but striking in its specificity.

Today’s Reality Is Not Tomorrow’s Certainty
Much of our lives are too often built on the unknown, the future, our tomorrow. We forget that the moment of living is right here, right now, in the present. We are living today, in this moment.
People don’t need to question what’s happening right now, because that’s usually already evident in their lives. However, they do need to ‘see’ ahead, so they can be prepared for what is to come, or reassured that they are going in the right direction. Well, of course, you won’t see it right now! The future hasn’t happened yet. One cannot see a distant curve in the path ahead, until you actually reach it.
Psychic predictions often make less sense in the present than it ultimately will in the future. If we wish to probe the future, we must also be open to trusting the process and have the necessary faith that Spirit, God, Source, Universe, the Divine always has our best interest at heart. All will unfold as it must in divine time for our highest good.
It is also insightful to understand and heal the past, and be fully aware of what influences are happening right now, in this moment, so we can figure out how to proceed into the future, better comprehend the changes coming, to get there more easily, and to be steady and ready.
Why Integrity Is Non-Negotiable In Psychic Reading
I often come across psychic-related news stories that just baffle me as a spiritual person. They all have one thing in common: regular people who lose a lot of money, often in cryptocurrency scams, after trusting a fake psychic or fortune-teller.
In a bunch of cases recently, people were encouraged to invest in cryptocurrencies or other investment schemes over the course of weeks or months. Whenever they had any doubts, they were reassured and encouraged to keep investing.
But when they tried to withdraw their money, they found that it was all gone. The money was never invested, the platforms were fake, and the people they had trusted were no longer available.
These stories often end with victims feeling embarrassed and confused about how they got drawn so deeply into such a scam.
The so-called “psychic” usually operated under a fake name. They weren’t linked to any reputable platforms, and had no online presence or reputation to speak of. They usually disappear as soon as the authorities get involved.
What bothers me most about these stories is the lack of integrity and the misuse of trust. No ethical psychic practitioner is going to advise clients that way.
My first reaction is always: How can someone do this to another person? Then, I can’t help but also wonder: How could someone be so gullible and irresponsible to follow such questionable financial advice?
The Blessing Of Mediumship
As a medium, there is nothing more rewarding than bringing through a loved one who has passed on to Spirit. It is tremendously fulfilling to be able to deliver messages from another plane and to put someone’s mind at ease here on Earth.
Often, departed loved ones will come through to give a progress report of sorts, so that family or friends will know that they are happy, pain-free and adjusting beautifully to their new surroundings.
In addition, they might weigh in on a family dilemma, reassure a friend that the right decision was made or confirm that everything is currently on track for success.
Readings of this nature are a win-win-win for everyone: for the person who has passed on to Spirit, for the person requesting the reading, and also for me.
Over the years, I have received countless confirmations from readings given privately and in the various spiritualist churches. Although I would never take Spirit’s work for granted, because all messages are important for different reasons, there are many that stand out because of the wonderful reactions they caused.
Once, I was attending a potluck supper at one of the churches and, as I was standing in line for the buffet, I felt a tap on my shoulder. As I turned around to see who was there, an older woman said, “Well, here he is!” She pointed to a man standing beside her.
A few years before, Spirit had advised that she would be getting remarried and, at her age, she didn’t believe it for a minute. Fast forward a few years and she brought him to the church supper in the hope that I would be there to meet him in person.
