Life these days can be very demanding and it is often a challenge to successfully balance all aspects of mind, body and soul. Busy work days, financial responsibilities, and the demands of our social and family life, can make it so easy to allow our spiritual practice to slip. Fortunately, the metaphysical power of crystals can help us keep our spiritual motivation going. Here’s how.
Ask For Support
Should you feel the need for support from a particular crystal, then all you need to do is simply ask for it. For example, do you think you need to increase your self-discipline, or that your resolve should be strengthened? If so, gently hold some malachite in one hand and request that it helps and supports you to this end. In fact, you could carry it with you at all times whenever you sense the need of its help. As I began to approach my teen years, I became more eager to develop my intuitive abilities. It was important for me to start finding my purpose. I had become a part of this adolescent spiritual group, where kids from different cultures and religious backgrounds came together to find common ground.
On the last night of a camping retreat, we gathered around a large table with magazines and art materials surrounding us. Our teacher instructed us to put our vision on paper, so we could have a visual tool to motivate and inspire us for the future.
There was much laughter in the beginning, but then the room became more serious and quiet. Everyone began filling their paper with colorful images and commenting on how awesome the project was. In the final hour, we all went around the room and shared our vision boards with humor and emotion. Overall we learned that each one of us is unique and driven to make our imprint in this world. In a recent psychic reading, the client had just visited a psychic fayre, with no intention whatsoever to purchase any more crystals for her collection. She did browse one counter with its beautiful arrangement of crystals. As much as she kept walking away from that particular display, she felt one particular smoky quartz calling her back! So yes, she bought it. Her question to me was how she could best go about programming her new purchase.
Although crystals given as gifts are said to be more powerful, it is my belief that there are also times that a crystal will call out to us, because it has a certain role to play in our lives at a given time. A quartz crystal given as a gift will often be given with loving intention, which is empowering in itself. I have spoken to students who are convinced that they feel at their academic best when wearing a quartz-crystal given to them by a loved one, not to mention the sense of safety and self-confidence a cherished crystal tends to instill in us. As we move into the last six months of the year, we should reflect on what we wanted to accomplish this year. What dreams, visions, plans did we have at the beginning of the year, and where are we in the process of manifesting what we desire most?
Many of us might not be where we imagined, and sometimes we feel like giving up when we encounter challenges. Or we may be close to achieving our goals, but need to take a new perspective and reaffirm our vision.
The following are some of my ‘wisdom questions’ I use to help me move forward around what I desire. Read the rest of this entry »
Think for a moment of all the heavy emotional burdens we tend to carry: resentment, anger, jealousy, vengeance, hatred. When we carry all that baggage, in some cases for years at a time, our mind, body and soul suffer the consequences. It can do a lot of harm over time, since these emotions are associated with very powerful negative energy! The good news is, there is a simple and effective way to leave all of it behind: the miracle of forgiveness.
True forgiveness is not just about our relationship to others. It begins with forgiving ourselves. If you were to take an honest inventory of your outlook on life as it stands right now, what would that be? Are you often judgmental, bitter or harsh on yourself and others? It’s time to offer some forgiveness. Read the rest of this entry »
“You have four beautiful angels with you, and you aren’t even communicating with them!” These were the words of another psychic at a psychic fayre I was working at several years ago. I had never met him prior to this particular event, and he shouted those words at me as I was walking through the entrance towards my designated work table, to get ready to set up.
And he was so right. As much as I still vividly recalled my vision of angels when I was nine years old, and as much as I was using angel cards in my own readings, and constantly telling my client aware of the angels all around us, I hadn’t been speaking much with my own angelic team. To cleanse using the smoke of burning sage is an ancient Native American healing art, also known as smudging, which is designed to help clear negative energy. It can be used in your home, office, car, and also on your own energy.
If you are feeling depressed, angry, frustrated or even having trouble sleeping, smudging with sage can help you clear your negative thoughts and start anew. To sage yourself, buy organic sage. Place the sage in a bowl or an abalone shell (my preference because of the ocean energy it brings). Using a match or lighter, light the sage. It will briefly produce a flame and then it will just smolder and smoke.
Using your hands, pull the smoke into your face and upper chest area, over and over. While doing this, think about what you want to clear. Be specific and detailed. Then think about what you want to bring into your energy: peace, calm, love, positivity, hope, guidance, kindness, self-love, self-acceptance, vitality, youthfulness, energy, patience. It is helpful to take a shower afterwards, to cleanse all of the vibrations you just released off of your body and energy. Read the rest of this entry »
Spring is one of those times of year that we attempt to bring renewal into our lives, and change for the better. Perhaps we attempt to change old habits, or create new ones. Have you ever tried? Yes, but have you ever accomplished them? Have you ever stopped to wonder why, so often, you haven’t been able to make long term change?
Everyone wants to make change. I am really going to lose weight. I’m going to stop smoking. Oh my, I’m going to quit swearing. I’ll quit procrastinating, or stop doing that obnoxious thing I so often do. I’ll start exercising. I’ll be a better person. I’ll organize my life. I will find time for change!
We truly believe that we have the will power to succeed in instituting these changes into our lives. Maybe for the first few days it actually goes okay. So, why don’t these changes become permanent? Why can’t we seem to follow through? Why can’t I change my life? Read the rest of this entry »
