If you’d asked me a few years ago how I welcomed a new day, I would’ve rattled off a checklist: what needs to be done, what must be scheduled, what’s urgent and what’s not. I thought a structure schedule and curated life was strength. I believed that manifesting my future meant controlling it before it even arrived.
But somewhere along my spiritual path, I began to dance to a different rhythm. It was a kind of sacred tempo that doesn’t rush or demand. That doesn’t forecast before it senses and feels.
Today, I want to share that magical alternative rhythm with you. I call it reverse planning. It’s not a rigid system, but an invitation to trust time the way a rune whispers its truth.
Our modern culture tends to treat calendars like hammers. We use them to nail down the future with agendas, meetings, goals, and deadlines. On paper, life appears orderly, efficient, and decided. But for many of us, that creates a low-level anxiety that’s hard to name.
We wake up already carrying the weight of what hasn’t even happened yet. The day feels predetermined before we’ve had a chance to participate in it.
As someone who reads runes, symbols that speak across the ancient thresholds of time, I’ve come to believe that true guidance rarely comes in the form of a command. Instead, it arrives quietly, in the pauses, in the spaces between breaths. That’s where reverse planning begins: with presence, not pressure.
True Love Has No Time Limit, And No Deadline!
We live in a busy world where most of us have gotten used to a very hurried life. Everything is on a strict schedule and time limit, because we now judge everything this way.
We have become a restless society demanding instant solutions and immediate gratification in all things.
If the line is too long at the supermarket or fast food restaurant, some of us get upset. If we have to wait for our doctor when we have an appointment, we become annoyed. Some cut in front of others, or even cross streets while the light is still red, because they hate to wait.
Similarly, if we do not get an immediate reaction from our latest love interest, some of us do not become just a little restless or anxious. No, they get really upset!
If this kind of hurried, rushed way of life plagues you, then you may definitely need an major attitude adjustment. Because your naturally loving heart and your capacity for love and romance may be in serious trouble.
Maybe your heart never got the memo that there was no need to constantly hurry up and adhere to time limits and deadlines.
What happened to dating? Romantic chats? Patiently anticipated expressions of affection? Dozens of love letters, and more recently emails and test messages? The joint holidays and weekends away? The looking forward to new adventures together?
You Are A Human Being, Not A Human Doing!
We are living in a fast-paced world where we feel we must do many things every day, hardly having much time to just be. To just stop. To think. To just be.
Instead of embracing the fact that we are a human beings, we are in this day and age more focused on being humans doing.
We get caught in up in the web of life, with its chaos and drama. And we get frustrated and feel so rushed. There is no time to truly do the things we want to do; to spend time doing the things that matter the most.
Today, take a moment to just sit for a few minutes and simply do nothing.
Meditate. Just think about nothing and if thoughts come in, ask yourself: is this thought helping me to get in alignment with my true self? Am I in touch with the higher self that allows happiness to be a part of my space and life?
If the thoughts that are coming in are not happy or healthy, or not helping you to be spiritually aware and give you that feeling of being fulfilled, then you just allow them to go in and out. Just let it be.
No need to over think, or evaluate, or spend energy on it. Just let it go. If a thought comes in and it’s a stressor for you, note it and remember to maybe get rid of that thought or person from your life.
Take Out The Toxic Trash With A Self-Love Meditation
I’ve been teaching meditation for over 30 years now, and it is something that has been widely misunderstood. It has also been hijacked by people with nefarious, materialistic agendas.
Meditation is not about emptying the mind or having no thoughts. Rather, it is about removing and replacing negative thoughts, repetitive patterns, abusive programming from childhood, and conditioning imposed by sadistic or wounded individuals.
Meditation is about inviting God, Spirit, Source, the Divine back into the heart, soul, and mind.
When we are children, everything begins with love. Children are eternal optimists, even when they have been traumatized.
But almost every child encounters at least one parent, relative, teacher, classmate, or authority figure who is abusive. These individuals attempt to rid themselves of their own overflowing toxicity by dumping it onto others: verbally, emotionally, or physically. Their words become programming, much like a computer virus.
Meditation is designed to replace that negative programming. Instead of hearing “you are worthless” looping in your mind, meditation allows you to consciously replace that tape with “I am loved.”
Think about the hurtful words that were spoken or screamed at you as a child. Then, during meditation, repeat the opposite.
Finding More Balance In A Busy World
Do you ever feel the busier you become, the harder it is to remain focused and stay in control of everything? Then you are not, I promise you, alone! Sometimes life can seem like you are always juggling and struggling, but not always winning as a result.
As a professional psychic, I have always been of the opinion that if we want something to manifest in the material world, we have to get the inside of ourselves, as well as our lifestyles, balanced and more harmonious first. Otherwise, we would simply attract more chaos.
By putting ourselves in a healthy, positive, and balanced place, we not only draw more abundance to ourselves, but we also achieve a less stressful lifestyle as a result.
This is not just spiritual philosophy; it’s energetic truth. The Universe is always responding to the vibration we emit. When we’re frantic, overextended, or emotionally scattered, we become magnets for more of the same.
But when we take steps to ground ourselves, reconnect with our inner guidance, and honor our natural rhythms, something beautiful happens: the energy around us begins to shift.
This shift isn’t just internal because others begin to notice it too. Opportunities feel more aligned, relationships grow more authentic, and daily life feels less like a struggle and more like a sacred flow. Reflections On Time…And The Timeless
During my morning walk with the dogs, I found myself nostalgically reflecting on a time in my life when “there was a place for everything, and everything in its place.”
As comforting as that kind of order once felt, I’ve shifted considerably in how I relate to time constraints in recent years.
Over the years, I’ve gathered a menagerie of many rescue dogs and cats who’ve taught me to prioritize what truly needs my attention and focus, and to stop “sweating the small stuff.”
A neighbor also recently reminded me, “Hay tiempo para todo.” There is time for everything.
The general approach to life in the Spanish town where I live is (sometimes annoyingly so!) very easygoing, with a shared belief that what doesn’t get done today will simply get done tomorrow.
You often hear the locals say, “Mañana,” with a smile, which seldom means “tomorrow.” It means, “Tomorrow is another day, so don’t stress, don’t rush, it’ll all get sorted in time.”
I’ve reflected on this often, and the quality of life enjoyed by most Spaniards is a testament to the fact that perhaps they’re doing something right? It is especially evident in family life still being a priority for people living here.
In our little town of around 8,000 souls, people still pause to smile and greet one another. I’m lucky to be able to converse with the locals in their own language, but I’ve also seen how warmly they respond to foreigners, especially those who are still finding their way with Spanish. There’s no judgment, just appreciation for the effort.
Reclaiming Your inner Peace In A Noisy World
When was the last time you sat down with yourself? I mean really be in the moment and connnect with your inner being. When did you last pay close attention to your thoughts, feelings, and sensations?
So often, we go about life on autopilot, barely acknowledging our inner world. Over time, this becomes a way of being.
We stay caught up in the human busy-ness that keeps us focused on the practical aspects of life. Important, yes, but often at the expense of our spiritual and emotional well-being.
The result is a kind of soul fatigue or a quiet weariness that stems from disconnection. We may notice a sense of restlessness or dissatisfaction, but struggle to trace its roots. That’s often a sign our inner world is calling for attention, urging us to slow down and truly listen.
Even when we do find quiet moments, we rarely use them to check in with ourselves. We live in a world of endless distractions: a computer at our fingertips, the internet in our pocket. This disconnect is creating a divide between real life and our presence within it.
Today, I felt inspired to write about reconnecting with our inner selves and creating more balance between our spiritual and practical experiences.
This doesn’t require a massive overhaul. It just takes intention. It can be as simple as spending a few quiet moments with your thoughts and feelings.
Here are three simple yet powerful ways to slow down and reconnect with simple, meaningful moments in everyday life.
