Is There Such A Thing As Destiny?
During a recent visit to my dentist, Daniella, I managed to ask her a couple of questions about her background. For obvious reasons one rarely gets a chance to say much to one’s dentist!
Daniella is a very professional, natural young woman, and I asked her how she ended up studying dentistry in Spain, as I knew she’d spent her early years in England. Her father is Spanish and her mom is English, and this prompted me to ask how her mom and dad met.
I must admit, the first thing that would come to most people’s minds is that Daniella’s mom might have fallen in love with a young, dark and handsome young Spaniard, whilst holidaying in Spain in the Seventies. It wasn’t like that at all. Continue reading
The Healing Power Of Empathetic Listening
“They don’t listen to anything I say,” are words we often hear. People long to be acknowledged, and from my experience this is something people in many parts of the world are missing, as we all rush from place to place. The inhabitants of a modern day home tend to become like passing ships in the night to their loved ones, and hardly communicate with one another.
Really listening to another goes straight to the heart. It opens the empath and the medical intuitive’s eyes to that which any X-ray or computerized tomography (CT) scan cannot. Active listening is the most powerful catalyst for change in any healing therapy. Continue reading
Talking To Your Unborn Child
A decade ago, I congratulated a client on her pregnancy. She was a soon-to-be single mom. Lucy was battling her own demons, and insecurity after fighting the battle with alcohol and drugs, and had fallen head over heels for Justin during a recent stint in rehab. Naturally, she was devastated when the man she loved did not show the slightest interest in ever being a part of their son’s life.
Lucy was a beautiful, and exceptionally talented young woman, but had no idea how special she was. She was a slip of a thing and seemed so vulnerable. She only had a couple of friends, since so many others, as well as family, had given her the cold shoulder because of her substance abuse. Like myself, she’d had many slips by falling off the wagon, but I believe that to this day, she is winning the battle. Continue reading
Set Your Intentions For The Highest Good
A message I just received from a friend and colleague, prompted me to write this blog. In a previous message to her, I had mentioned how my partner and I hadn’t quite nailed our niche place to settle, even after a major cross continent move over two years ago. She replied that over the past two years she has come to the conclusion that, despite her deep spiritual beliefs, the world has gone crazy. She is battling to find a reason why she is here, after all of her struggles and heartache.
So many spiritual teachings, including those found in A Course In Miracles, speak of how everything is just an illusion. How do we know what is real? How often have we have stopped to consider this? Being exposed to so much of what is going on around us, not just locally, but globally through social and other media, makes us question all the more. It makes it challenging to still feel like we are able to make a difference in the life of another human being or animal in this day and age. Continue reading
Daydream Love And Abundance Into Your Life
Have you come to a point in your life where you know that you no longer intend to settle for the way things are in your life? Or are you ready to consider that, perhaps, you actually allowed yourself to accept a less than ideal relationship, or situation? Then, as we head towards a new year, maybe it’s high time for ‘out with the old, and in with the new.’
So often my customers say, “It’s just my luck, I should have known I’d be used again.” Or they believe they will always attract the unavailable ones, the cheaters, or those with addiction problems. When a person’s subconscious is being fed statements such as these, they are taken on board as gospel by our subconscious mind. If we have programmed our subconscious to accept such dialogue, it is what it expects, not just now, but in the future too. Continue reading
Restlessness Is A Spiritual Growth Opportunity
When I was a teenager, one of my more ‘vocal’ cousins said to me, “You don’t seem to stay in one place for very long… just five minutes and, poof, you’re off again!”
At that time of my life I could put this down to my musician father’s wanderlust. He was a Sagittarius, and we not only often moved towns and countries, but frequently continents too. Such an unsettling way of life is usually not ideal for a Cancer like myself, but I seem to have inherited my father’s restless genes.
Today, my husband and I are in a tranquil setting since our international relocation over two years ago from a more volatile environment. Still, the restlessness persists. My menagerie of pets – five dogs and three cats – at least keep me relatively at peace.
I do know that actions provoked by restlessness can involve inevitable stresses, as was the case with our most recent big move. Unlike the days when I was still doing things solo, or when I was still living with my parents, this time I had the many pets to consider. Their well-being moving from one continent to another was one of the biggest stresses I have ever experienced. Continue reading
