My Dad’s Missing Slipper
After my father passed, my wife said that she could hear me talking to my dad in my sleep, both as an adult and as a child. I didn’t remember talking to my dad. Apparently I would talk about my dog when I was growing up, and I would carry on a conversation with him for a long time, as if he was standing right next to me. She said I also mentioned a teacher, Mrs. Whooton, my fifth grade teacher. In time the dreams with my dad stopped, because my wife says she no longer hears me talk to my father anymore.
My sister had asked me if I wanted any of his stuff. I already received a lot from him growing up and before his passing, so I could not really think of anything. But I remembered a pair of very nice slippers my wife and I had bought him for Christmas, shortly before he passed away. Continue reading
The Ouija Board Is Not A Game
I often have clients and yoga students asking me my opinion on the Ouija board. Well, I have a hard time even writing the word, if that is for-shadowing of my more detailed view on this matter.
It is one thing to develop your intuition and tell your guides that you want to communicate with loved ones who have passed, and quite another to open yourself like a sponge and allow all energies in.
When you open yourself blindly to anything that wants to come in, you cannot control or filter what comes in. There is no protection. When you go through your guides, they will protect you and allow only positive vibrations and energies that you know in. Continue reading
Helping A Young Psychic Develop
A young person with a psychic gift must be recognized early on, and nurtured in their development. If not, they may experience a lot of confusion and even trauma. Their gift must be seen and experienced as a blessing, not a curse.
My niece Rachel was one of the more fortunate. She clearly had a gift from a very tender age. When she was a little girl I would give my brother and sister in-law some time off by babysitting Rachel and her older sister. Every time I would go over to their house to watch the kids, Rachel didn’t want me to read her normal children books. She would grab the family photo album and look specifically at old pictures of deceased family members. She would look at these photos with much interest and talk to the people in them as if they were sitting right in front of her. Continue reading
The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy Of Fear
Recently, people have been posing their last question in a reading as: “Is there anything I need to beware, or frightened about in the coming year?”
Sometimes a psychic or spiritual advisor can bring a client additional anguish in their lives by encouraging them to focus on a fearful occurrence which could happen, rather than encouraging the person to be vigilant at particular times or steps they can take to go in a more positive direction.
I recently witnessed a typical example of additional fear being created for a customer when a lady who came to me with her daughter for a private mediumship sitting. The girl’s father committed suicide two weeks before. Although we did manage to get some closure for them from the reading, as well as actual messages from the deceased, they were both still very anxious, because of what their priest had communicated to them almost immediately after the deceased took his life. The Haunted Typewriter
When I was growing up my mother had a typewriter that had been in the family for a long time. I never knew much about its history.
One day I was invited to a family reunion at my aunt and uncle’s house. After my mother had passed away I never had much contact with them. We sat around and talked about my mother being a psychic and how she experienced many paranormal stuff as a child. My aunt took out a family photo album she had shown me before and in one of the pictures there was a picture of an old, black typewriter. She told me that it was a 1920’s Royal typewriter and that my grandfather received it as payment for working on someone house. The homeowners didn’t have the money to pay him for his services. Learning To Know Joy In The Afterlife
Shortly after my father’s death in 2005, I started sitting in monthly mediumship circle with three friends. It was on our third gathering that my dad began the first of many communications from the wonderful world of spirit.
Energetically it seemed most appropriate, because one of our sitters had been my dad’s hospice nurse. How lucky I was during those final six months of my dad’s life, not only to have the wonderful support of this earth angel from hospice, but also to feel so connected to her through our interest in things of a psychic nature. When my grandfather was in this physical realm he spoke several times with me about the afterlife and how he intended to make contact with me after his passing, if there was any way for him to do it. He kept his promise.
He is one of the few people that I could talk with about anything related to psychic abilities, mediumship and paranormal phenomena. I think he was so open-minded because he was a true believer. He firmly believed that the soul exists, and that life lives on after death, just in a different form. He shared with me many times in great depth how he has seen his body from above as he floated during out-of-body experiences, and many other astral traveling experiences. Continue reading
