Sun Salutation For Opening Your Heart Chakra
Many people have an energy blockage or imbalance with their heart chakra, because this is where we hold our emotional wounds.
The heart chakra is where we hold on to every insult or criticism from our childhood. The unbalanced heart chakra can store the energy of every rejection, anxious moment, humiliation, and fear from our teen years, as well as every break-up and every disappointment in our lifetime.
Heartbreak is a very real phenomenon. For example, sometimes when the life partner of an elderly person passes away, they will also pass from a heart attack soon after. It is tragic evidence of a disconnection of the life-long energy bond between two hearts.
Blockage in the heart chakra can also cause various health problems, including heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, breathing problems, and problems with the thyroid, back, neck and shoulders.
The sun salutation is a choreographed set of yoga exercises that can be used to open the heart chakra and move energy throughout the entire body. Lifting your heart chakra pulls energy into the center.
Stand with your feet roughly one foot part, feet parallel. Tighten your buttocks and push your pelvis forward. Contract your abdominal muscles.
Reach your arms out to the side and slowly move them upward, as if you re scooping energy upward. Keep the arms perfectly straight, with elbows locked.
Bring your hands over your head into a prayer position, with the arms as straight as you can get them. Visualize that energy you scooped up pulsing between your hands. Then, keeping the hands connected in prayer, bring your hands down to your heart and feel that energy you ‘captured’ filling your heart chakra. Do this over and over as many times as you want.
Astrology Forecast March 7 – 13, 2022
Mercury joins the Sun in Pisces this week, adding to the spiritual, somewhat ethereal energy of this week.
Today will prove our most productive day under the Taurus Moon, so get as much out of the way as you can. The Moon will dance through Gemini Tuesday through Thursday, making us more prone to socializing and chatting mid-week.
The Taurus Moon sextile Jupiter in Pisces will bring us both social and financial success and have us feeling upbeat and confident, so this morning will be a good time to drum up some new business prospects.
The Pisces Sun sextile Moon in Taurus today will add to our sense of popularity and our ability to see eye-to-eye and successfully meet others halfway. This constellation lasts only a few hours, so strike the iron today while it is still hot, as the mood will shift towards insincerity, disharmony and even depression by the end of the day under the Taurus Moon square Saturn in Aquarius.
As Mercury moves into Pisces on Wednesday, most of our discussions will be centered on spirituality, the occult, and the supernatural.
Once the Moon exits Gemini and wades into Cancer, we’ll have two more days of watery energy on Friday and Saturday.
The fog will finally begin to lift on Sunday when the Moon moves into Aries and restores our energy and drive, though we may decide to channel that into restoring balance rather than charging out to run a marathon or paint the house!
Making Time For Our Loved Ones
With our hectic schedules in a fast-paced digital world, and everyone seeming to need something urgently, our lives can be crammed with to-do lists featuring mountains of tasks, duties, and obligations.
Sometimes it is hard to believe how quickly the time goes by and how long it’s been since we’ve last spent quality time with family and relatives. Social media ‘likes’ can never substitute meaningful interaction and connection with our loved ones.
We must create opportunities to maintain these connections, foster better relationships, and touch base with young and old. We will regret not doing so someday, when it is no longer possible or viable. I have been witness to many of my clients over the years having to reach out to their loved ones in spirit with a mediumship reading, because many things were never said or shared while they were still in this life.
For years, I used to call my 95-year-old aunt every weekend. She lives about 3,500 kilometers away in a different province. So, I haven’t seen her in a few years, more recently specifically due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
She is the last remaining relative in our family from that generation, on both sides of the family. She doesn’t hear well anymore, so the calls usually aren’t very long, but she always tells me how much she appreciates hearing my voice.
My dear aunt still has a wonderful sense of humor and sometimes she enjoys reminiscing about my mom and her other siblings. Although she has four grown children, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren, it always seems to bring a spark of joy to her day whenever we catch up and share a quick story or two.
Achieving Mind, Body And Soul Health
As spiritual beings we must take care of the sacred body temples that house us. Optimal health is part of a collective cycle that merges the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of who we are into one continuously moving energetic field. When any one of these three elements is out of balance, we miss out on the opportunity to show up for our lives with optimal focus, energy, desire, stamina, strength, and purpose.
Science has long recognized that stress has a negative impact on our entire being. I have consulted over the years with clients who complain of the physical manifestation of stress, often appearing as low energy, headaches, poor digestion, insomnia, muscle tension, and chronic pain.
However, as a spiritual practitioner and energy worker, I often also witness how stress can upset our energy fields and create blockages at the mental, physical, and spiritual level.
By getting in touch with how stressful events make us feel, we can more closely examine our personal triggers. Once we learn which events or situations are less ideal for us, we can implement methods for coping, as well as choose alternative options that are less stressful. Despite how seemingly difficult any situation is, we always have a choice to impact a different outcome or choose how we respond to the event.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, health and wellness has become a center stage issue for many of us. I find many of my clients are increasingly interested in finding ways to boost their immunity and building the body’s natural defenses.
Astrology Forecast February 28 – March 6, 2022
Expect the unexpected today and tomorrow, as the Moon travels through Aquarius and shifts our focus with new information or last minute changes in plans. Don’t fight the obstacles or revisions, as they are designed to serve our best interest.
Being patient and calm may be a tough call this morning under the Aquarius Moon square Uranus in Taurus, which may tempt us to be stubborn, irritable, and unpredictable. Take care not to give in to a capricious mindset or melodramatic mood.
Thankfully, the atmosphere will improve markedly with the Moon conjunction Mercury in Aquarius towards the end of the day, which will see us more mentally alert, focused and acting sensibly.
The Pisces New Moon and two planetary transits add an interesting tone to the week that highlights the spiritual and innovative aspects of our personality.
Wednesday’s Pisces New Moon heralds in a cycle of spiritual renewal over the next two weeks, revealing the reason for past delays, disappointments, or reversals. Think of this as an ‘aha’ phase, where everything will finally begin to make sense!
Getting things done is always easier under a fire sign Moon, so capitalize on Friday and Saturday’s Aries Moon to make things happen.
You may want to take things easy on Sunday as the Moon moves into Taurus and Venus and Mars enter the electric sign of Aquarius. Venus in Aquarius will inspire us to think outside the box over the next six weeks, while Mars in the same sign could create some unpredictable movement or inspire new paths to follow. Either way, with both these planets in the sign of friendship, we’ll have more than enough support and backing to move us forward into a brighter future.
Astrology Forecast February 21 – 27, 2022
Interesting insights and ideas abound under today and tomorrow’s Scorpio Moon, but take care not to get caught up in the mental gymnastics of ‘what if’s.’ Instead, keep your focus on the facts. Writing things down or taking a break in nature can restore some balance as you ponder current truths and realities.
The Moon in Scorpio is an intense, passionate energy that can easily escalate into impulsive behavior, vindictiveness and arguments. Tensions will thankfully be somewhat alleviated this morning by the sense of harmony the Pisces Sun and Scorpio Moon trine will inspire.
Tomorrow evening will be a good ‘date night’ if you are up for some romance this early in the week, or if you need to play catch up with that belated Valentine’s day celebration. The Scorpio Moon sextile Venus in Capricorn on Tuesday is ideal for matters of the heart. It is also the one night this week you are unlikely to have any disagreements with your beloved.
Wednesday and Thursday’s Sagittarius Moon casts an air of fairness and justice over things, as it inspires you to speak up and ask for what you want, or at least get closer to knowing what it is you want.
If you want to be sure you will get anything done this week, aim for Thursday through Saturday to make some real progress, as the Moon will march through industrious and determined Capricorn and move things along quite nicely. Thursday’s Sagittarius Moon sextile Saturn in Aquarius will give us a head start by boosting our sense of organization and responsibility, brining even the most ambitious goals within our practical reach. However, the serious, conscientious tone of the Capricorn Moon may also cause some of us to go into ‘workaholic’ mode, while neglecting family and personal life, so be sure to make some real plans for fun and relaxation over the weekend.
Sunday is all about friendships and unity under the Aquarius Moon, as we pause to connect with our favorite people and see what they’ve been up to.
Astrology Forecast February 14 – 20, 2022
It’s all about love and romance this week, as the Moon moves into Leo on Valentine’s Day and stays there until it culminates in a Full Moon on Wednesday! The Leo Moon brings with it an air of confidence and self-expression.
Personal desires, flirtation, passion, romantic, relationships, and friendships, as well as contemplating what we truly value in life, will rise to the surface in the coming days.
Mercury in Aquarius, will further heighten our ability to be friendly and intuitively aware in our interactions with others, and some of us will even be able to truly turn on the charm today!
The Leo Moon opposite Saturn in Aquarius tomorrow might place a depressing damper on our mood after yesterday’s love fest. We may even feel unhappy and dissatisfied, question our relationships. We might also feel abandoned or lonely.
If you find yourself in this state of mind on Tuesday, try to work through your feelings before Wednesday, as the Leo Full Moon may further inflame a negative state of mind with moodiness, dissatisfaction, and irritability.
On Friday the Sun will move into soul-based Pisces and completely shift our focus from the external to our inner being. As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces is a culmination of all we’ve experienced over the last twelve months and a time to go deeper and embrace our spiritual power and heart’s desires. We’ve spent the first part of the year looking at things outside of ourselves, and now we’ll be turning inward to see what personal and spiritual changes are forming.
Saturday and Sunday’s Libra Moon will aid us in determining how our inner desires are reflecting to the outside world, and how to approach things with more balance and ultimately, success.
