The Spiritual Counselor’s Vision
Many years ago, I encountered a vision of a smiling toddler. The child’s joy was overwhelming. As I hung out in a rim state of consciousness to see more, the image faded as quickly as it came. Several years following this glimpse, I found myself staring into a photograph of my best friend’s two year old daughter. I realized at that very moment that the vision I previously experienced was a foreshadowing of my closest friend’s daughter, who is now an adult.
Throughout her childhood, I continued to receive spirit messages about her well-being. As each one emerged, I shared details with her parents. One message in particular came to me during meditation. I envisioned her standing on the grounds of what appeared to be a prominent university. While I could not make out the name of the school, I could see old stone buildings that were situated atop a beautifully landscaped hill.
She was smiling in the vision, as she proudly stood with her backpack in place between her shoulders. I interpreted this vision to mean that she would someday attend a great university and that any anxiety her parents held with regard to her future would soon dissipate in the blessing of a perfect match between student and university.
Destiny In Your Hands – The Art Of Palmistry
It is sometimes said that our destiny lies in our own hands. Well, it is true. Literally. With the ancient art of palmistry we can learn deeper truths about ourselves and, yes, even our destiny.
Palmistry, also known as Chiromancy, is the divination of meaning by reading hands. Someone new to this field may think that palmistry is only about the lines on the palm of the hand. However, the size and length of the fingers themselves, fingernails, and the ratio of the digits, all also hold deeper meaning.
Each of us has a dominant hand. The aspects of this hand usually represent the part of ourselves we project to the world, much like our Sun sign in Astrology. The less dominant hand represents our more hidden aspects and desires, which corresponds to our Moon sign. It’s therefore best to examine your dominant hand for an accurate reading.
Tarot And The Future
The Tarot is a wonderful resource for gauging which direction we are heading in life. However, too often people seeking information will misunderstand the system. They want to know the future, but the Tarot does not create the future. The Tarot is a metaphysical tool and does not negate metaphysical laws. We can certainly see which direction we are headed in our lives, based on the insights the Tarot can provide. However, it is important to pay attention to the whole message that is coming through.
Rushing to the end of a Tarot reading is unwise, since there are often elements of change that are integral to the outcomes. I often explain it like this: the Tarot works in much the same way as a Global Positioning System (GPS). The end point will represent the coordinates that we either desire, or are currently headed toward. The other cards represent the path to get there. At times, the Tarot will provide directives that help us along the way. Just like with a GPS, we cannot expect to get to the right location if we are unwilling to follow the instructions necessary to get us to the right place.
The Soul Self In The Age Of Technology
I used to work as a realtor for a short period of time. Most likely the short duration of that career was, even though I absolutely love people, that I sucked at the selling part.
As part of that chosen career path, I felt compelled to purchase and carry a cell phone. Customers looking for a salesperson usually will not wait long and will often just move on to the next available agent – hence the need for a phone that I had to carry with me constantly.
When I was out visiting family or friends, I had to explain immediately why I was carrying this device and my need to answer it quickly, so that I didn’t lose a potential sale. Everyone seemed to understand the situation.
If my phone rang and it was only someone wanting to chat or another type of call, I simply explained to whomever was on the other end that I was thus engaged and would call them back. However, this did not always go over well! People who call someone sometimes feel their call must be taken and followed through with a conversation.
The Fallacy Of Future Happiness
One of the most consistent messages that come through when I am doing readings for clients, is the effects of the stories we tell about life and our circumstances. This is the first in a series of two blogs discussing two types of stories that people often tell themselves that have the potential to promote self-sabotage related to nearly every area of life.
We are all storytellers by nature and every experience that we have as human beings is an interpretation of the world around us. We apply labels to the world around us and the circumstances we find ourselves in every day. One of the most damaging stories that we tell ourselves are the future stories of happiness.
Spirit will often give us insights into patterns in our own lives to avoid. A consistent pattern to avoid is the fallacy that something in the future will eventually cause happiness. Happiness simply does not work like that.
Psychic Predictions Are Potentialities
I have had readings with psychics and mediums that are considered the best of the best, and some of their information and predictions did not always work out so well. But I have always understood from a spiritual perspective that this is something that can happen from time to time.
People usually contact a psychic or medium for reading because they have questions and concerns. They are looking for answers, for guidance and support. Most people are looking for advice and closure in times of strife or turmoil – to give them hope that the sun will indeed rise again tomorrow. Of course, many people also hope to receive predictions about future outcomes.
Can You Rely On Psychic Prediction?
Prophecy is the act of predicting the future outcome of an event. Many sacred texts have references of a prophetic nature. Historic figures like Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce are infamous for their prophecies. In ancient times leaders would consult prophets. Many times it was before an important battle, to see if the gods were on their side. Let us fast forward to the 21st century and consider prophecy in modern day readings.
Predictions for relationships, career changes and such like, as well as the timeframes for such events to happen, are common requests during psychic readings. They are all valid requests and meaningful to the client. There is usually a desire and passion for direction and knowledge within the request.
What is important with these predictions is to bear in mind that the mechanics of Natural Law prevail in the future outcome. Quantum Physics, at a simplistic overview, is about probabilities. Sort of like winning the lottery and the probability of picking all the lucky numbers. It is deterministic and every so often there is a winner.
