The Fallacy Of Future Happiness
One of the most consistent messages that come through when I am doing readings for clients, is the effects of the stories we tell about life and our circumstances. This is the first in a series of two blogs discussing two types of stories that people often tell themselves that have the potential to promote self-sabotage related to nearly every area of life.
We are all storytellers by nature and every experience that we have as human beings is an interpretation of the world around us. We apply labels to the world around us and the circumstances we find ourselves in every day. One of the most damaging stories that we tell ourselves are the future stories of happiness.
Spirit will often give us insights into patterns in our own lives to avoid. A consistent pattern to avoid is the fallacy that something in the future will eventually cause happiness. Happiness simply does not work like that.
A Sense Of Curiosity – A Message From My Guides
It is customary these days to get information instantly by using various methods of modern technology. Knowledge of all kinds is at your fingertips whenever you need it. Although some research is mandated for school or work projects, while other inquiries are conducted to satisfy a general need to know, we challenge you to look at your world from a different viewpoint and conduct a different kind of search.
Allow time to stand still every now and then. Extend your curiosity internally. Take some time to reflect on your past decisions, current situations and potential future.
The past can be a delightful place to visit in order to reminisce about wonderful experiences, evaluate decisions or learn from events, however, we do not suggest that you ‘live’ there permanently. When you consider some of the questionable choices you might have made, be kind to yourself as you ponder what was decided and why. Remember that your younger self will not have had the benefit of the great experience, wisdom and insight from which you can learn now.
Psychic Predictions Are Potentialities
I have had readings with psychics and mediums that are considered the best of the best, and some of their information and predictions did not always work out so well. But I have always understood from a spiritual perspective that this is something that can happen from time to time.
People usually contact a psychic or medium for reading because they have questions and concerns. They are looking for answers, for guidance and support. Most people are looking for advice and closure in times of strife or turmoil – to give them hope that the sun will indeed rise again tomorrow. Of course, many people also hope to receive predictions about future outcomes.
Can You Rely On Psychic Prediction?
Prophecy is the act of predicting the future outcome of an event. Many sacred texts have references of a prophetic nature. Historic figures like Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce are infamous for their prophecies. In ancient times leaders would consult prophets. Many times it was before an important battle, to see if the gods were on their side. Let us fast forward to the 21st century and consider prophecy in modern day readings.
Predictions for relationships, career changes and such like, as well as the timeframes for such events to happen, are common requests during psychic readings. They are all valid requests and meaningful to the client. There is usually a desire and passion for direction and knowledge within the request.
What is important with these predictions is to bear in mind that the mechanics of Natural Law prevail in the future outcome. Quantum Physics, at a simplistic overview, is about probabilities. Sort of like winning the lottery and the probability of picking all the lucky numbers. It is deterministic and every so often there is a winner. Psychic Prediction – Free Will, Fate Or Divine Destiny?
Psychic reading is often assumed to be synonymous with fortune-telling, and while they may seem similar on the surface they are in fact two very different practices. Psychic reading is a spiritual practice… a sacred portal to manifesting your true destiny. Fortune-telling, on the other hand, is a fallacy and potentially dangerous and destructive.
Yes, fortune-telling is a myth. Nobody can ‘tell your fortune’ for the simple reason that you don’t actually have a ‘fortune.’ Your fortune is something you create every day through your beliefs, thoughts, choices, decisions and actions. You are a spiritual being continuously seeking physical expression in your current incarnation. And therefore you are the creator of your own reality experience, and the designer of your own destiny. Depression And Being Idle
I recently did a psychic reading for a dear client here in my local area. Her question to me was, “Why am I so depressed? Lately I have had time off from work, I really haven’t been doing very much, but I am feeling depressed and tired.” She went on to ask me what might be causing this depression and what she could do to prevent it.
I am clairaudient and instantly heard the word, “Idleness.” It came to me loud and clear, and I shared this with her. She paused for a moment and said, “You know, I think you may be right! I am usually more depressed when I get my two weeks vacation and I have nothing planned. I don’t enjoy my usual hobbies and I just end up laying around and over-thinking!”
Apparently, when she has too much free time, she starts to worry about things in her life that does not usually bother her. She even has a sudden fear of dying when she isn’t being productive! Continue reading
Hold On Tight To Your Dreams
There are times when we are tempted to withdraw from the world, sit around, and feel sorry for ourselves. For many of us it is all too easy to get into the rut of complaining about how everything bad only happens to us, and how unfair life is. Some of us also easily complain that other people seem to have everything, and we have so little. When this kind of thinking takes over, it may be time to ask yourself some really tough questions.
Am I in a comfort zone? Is it really too difficult to make the necessary changes to have a better life? Do I really want to get well? What benefits am I possibly getting from choosing to remain stuck? Has my circumstances or my health status become my new identity? Am I always looking in the rear-view mirror, wishing I could rewrite the past? Do I obsess about what could have, should have, would have been? Continue reading
