Crossing Over Into Unconditional Love
Is my mom okay? Is my dad still in pain? Is my friend trying to speak to me? Is my grandmother proud or ashamed of me? Does my husband forgive me?
These are just a few of the many questions that I am asked by bereaved family members and friend, when they lose someone dear to them.
Firstly, it is important to understand that we are all spirit with a temporary physical body. And we have free will in how we choose to live our lives. Some of us choose to be kind and giving, while some are abusive and filled with anger. It is not our place to judge each other, simply to know that free will was a gift given to us before we came into this current physical body.
When I am asked these questions, the initial part of the answer is always going to be the same. The person that you lost simply left their physical body behind; their spirit never faltered.
When someone crosses over, no matter who, or how, the moment of crossing is always met with pure love. Their angel reaches out a hand and when they touch the light shows them that there is nothing to be afraid of.
They instantly know that the place where they are returning to is a place of light and harmony. It is a place of pure, unconditional love. Hate disappears, hurt or pain disappears. There is no shame, not disrespect. And there is only unconditional love for those that remain here on earth waiting for our turn to join them.
All Hallows Month Is Ideal For Self-Reflection
I did a reading for a new client yesterday, and during the session, I kept hearing the word “roots.” I told her, “You should get back to your roots.” She confirmed right away that she’d been thinking about moving back to her hometown to be closer to her family and friends.
That got me thinking about how October is often a time to think about where we really belong in life and in the world. This season, we’re thinking about place, direction, and home. It is the ideal time to reflect on whether it’s maybe time for a change, or if we should return to our roots.
It also got me thinking more about my spiritual roots and ancestry. October is a time to think about our physical lives and the spiritual truths, values, and principles that have been passed down to us. Are we still following those principles? Are we living in a way that reflects the wisdom of those who came before us? This is the kind of reflection October brings out, encouraging us to reconnect with our roots and the bigger picture of where we’re headed.
October, also known as the All Hallows Month, has always had a special kind of magic about it. It has always been a big deal in many spiritual traditions, because it is seen as a kind of in-between month.
This month is a time when the physical and spiritual worlds feel closer to each other, synchronicities multiply, and messages from the unseen find their way more easily into our lives. It’s no coincidence that so many cultures honor the dead and celebrate the mysteries of life and death during this season.
Embrace The Transformative Power Of October
October is one of the most transformative months for anyone who works with intuition, energy, or spiritual guidance. As the leaves fall and the air begins to cool, the spiritual atmosphere seems to ‘heat up.’
This is the season of shadow and light coexisting, where transformation becomes not just possible, but necessary.
Nature herself models this beautifully. Trees release what no longer serves them without resistance. The days grow shorter, urging us inward. And the whispers from the other side grow louder, inviting us to deepen our trust in the unseen.
The veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is said to be thinner this time of year, making it easier to receive messages, notice synchronicities, and tap into your own inner knowing.
October is an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and share our wisdom with others who may be feeling the energetic shifts.
This belief is not new. Across many cultures, October has long been seen as a threshold month. It is considered a liminal time when the unseen draws closer to the seen.
In Celtic and Pagan traditions, the end of October mark Samhain, the great harvest festival and the turning of the year. It is known as a sacred doorway between worlds, when the living can more easily connect with ancestors and the spirit realm. Fires are lit to honor the departed, and divination rituals practiced to glimpse what lay ahead.
Need Help? Just Ask Your Spirit Guides!
Talking to our spirit guides is one of the most beautiful gifts available to us at any time, day or night. Sadly, so many people are not even aware of this powerful resource, while others neglect it, not realizing how helpful it truly is.
Why do people not reach out to their guides? For some, it may stem from disbelief. They doubt that spirit guides exist or assume such beings only assist those with psychic abilities.
Others feel unworthy, thinking their requests would be a burden. Some feel too busy to set aside time, believing they must light candles, perform complex invocation rituals, or use specific divination tools to connect.
None of this is true.
Your spirit guides are always with you, and around you. They are present in your everyday moments, from your morning coffee to your nightly dreams. The only thing you need to do to consciously connect with their guidance is to pause, quiet your mind, and open yourself to communicating with them.
You can speak to your guides silently, in thought, or aloud with your voice. Think of it as a heart-to-heart with a trusted friend. There is no ceremony required, just you being sincere and heartfelt.
Once you accept that you’re never alone and that loving, wise beings walk beside you in spirit, life takes on a more luminous texture. Our spirit helpers are devoted to supporting our soul journey, and they wait patiently for us to ask them for help.
Trusting Spirit’s Guidance During Life Transitions
When life knocks you down, when things don’t go your way, when your dreams begin to feel like nightmares, don’t fall into the trap of believing it will never get better. Your life is not over.
Challenges like these are often small nudges from the universe, guiding you to face a new direction, to try something different, and to move forward. It’s a chance to release your past and forgive those who played a part in your pain.
Our angels, guides and ancestors are with us always. They feel our sorrow, and they celebrate our joy. They gently guide us toward the right path, but we don’t always hear that quiet inner whisper.
Our spirit allies will always try to intervene when something threatens us that isn’t meant to be part of our journey. Still, the choice to listen is always ours. When we ignore their guidance, we often find ourselves veering off course.
We’ve all done this. I know I have. In 2008, I was receiving clear messages to slow down and walk away from a job that was draining me emotionally and spiritually. But I resisted. I didn’t know how I would pay my bills if I left.
For months, my guides urged me to let go and move on. Eventually, I did. I quit. I had no idea how I was going to survive financially, but I knew I couldn’t stay any longer for the sake of my well-being. It took every ounce of courage I had, but I finally left.
Anger Blocks Intuition, Joy Clears The Way
For years, I carried a weight I didn’t fully understand. It wasn’t physical, and it wasn’t easily named. It was more like a festering storm tucked away inside me, a simmering anger that lingered in the corners of my being.
I thought I had mastered the art of containing it. I could smile, be reasonable, even offer calm advice to others.
But deep down, I felt its subtle pull, like an ominous undertow. It twisted the flow of my intuition, muffled the inner voice I used to trust, and dimmed the vibrant colors of a magical world around me.
Anger, I came to realize, is not always loud or aggressive. Sometimes, it is silent and slow-moving, like a heavy fog that sneaks in while you are not looking.
It dulls the senses. It compresses the heart. And perhaps most insidiously, it clogs the channel between you and your inner knowing. The kind of knowing that does not need explanation, just a quiet space to rise and speak.
For the longest time, I kept reaching for inner clarity. I meditated, I journaled, I pulled cards and sat in silence, hoping for something to break through.
But the insights felt fuzzy, the messages confusing. It was as if someone had turned the volume down on my inner voice, and I couldn’t figure out how to turn it back up.
Are Your Loved Ones Sending You Signs?
Have you ever felt as if someone who has passed away was trying to reach out to you? Have you noticed any unusual signs? Maybe you suddenly caught a whiff of their favorite perfume? Or maybe a song you associate with them started playing when you were thinking of them.
Though these moments may seem insignificant or random, they could actually be signs from beyond. Yes, really. The people we love who have passed away are still with us. They’re energetically around us more than we realize, watching over us and cheering us on.
Sometimes they try to send us reassuring messages, but we don’t always pay attention. Life can get hectic. It’s easy to miss these signs when we’re busy with our daily routines.
But the signs are still there. We just need to slow down, take a breath, and open our hearts to noticing them.
Not everyone sends the same kind of sign, and not every spirit communicates in the same way. Some loved ones are very obvious. They might move items like coins or feathers for you to find, flicker lights, or send a butterfly or dragonfly right into your path.
Other signs might be more subtle. They might cue up a meaningful song for the two of you or make the number 11:11 appear repeatedly until you finally say, “Wait a minute…what’s up with that?”
These are all ways they’re saying, “Hey! I’m here. I’m okay. I see you. Are you okay? No need to worry; you’ll be just fine. I’m looking out for you.”
