Throughout time mankind has explored the ability to communicate with the gods, with nature, or with each other on a non-verbal level. It is extremely common for us to use the term intuitive. these days. It is often the explanation given by many an entrepreneur or successful decision-maker: “I just trusted my gut,” or “What I love about Mary is she is just so intuitive and makes the right decisions.”
The term psychic on the other hand, although nowadays often well known within a household, conjures up for so many outside the metaphysical community feelings of distrust, fake, absurd, not possible. Perhaps these attributes are attached because of our personal belief system that does not value or agree with the skill set. This also can impact our personal relationships if we know it is real and others judge us since we may then hide our abilities as being psychic and connected with the unseen realm or worse shut down and not continue developing them. Being Spirit’s Messenger
A friend named Laura lost her husband to terminal illness just a few weeks ago. I have known this friend for over three decades, and our friendship has been one of touching base every now and again, mainly on birthdays and anniversaries. She did let me know, however when Bill had passed.
The last time I saw Bill was about 15 years ago, when he came to me for divination – throwing the bones. Our connection wasn’t such a strong one that I would expect him to be present in my dreams within just four days of his passing. But he was there, in three of my dreams, one after the other. I gave those dreams very little attention, so the memory of them was vague by the following day.
My friend Laura has always been somewhat skeptical, even afraid of ‘the other side.’ When I had the fourth dream, still, within only a few days of Bill’s passing, I noted every detail and told her what had happened, and asked how she would feel if I shared what I felt was a message for her. Maintaining The Connection
We may not always know or understand why we have connections with particular people, and even after they have passed it still seems vital that we keep those connections in place. Also, how we stay in touch may not be the same for each of us, it just is important that we do.
Many years ago, I had a lovely older friend named Pat, who came from a very affluent, upscale family and was certainly refined in every manner. It was noticeable in the way she dressed and spoke. Her whole demeanor exuded the firm self-confidence of someone who has been used to having the finer things in life.
Somewhere along the road, Pat fell in love with and married a rough-and-tough, stevedore-type fellow named Bill. By all appearances they certainly did not seem like a compatible couple, however, they stayed happily married, produced three offspring and had over 30 happy years together. Continue reading
Remembering Grandpa’s Visitation Message
Sitting on my bed, looking outside at the newly fallen snow, I am reminded of the message my grandfather gave me last year, around the same time.
I remember I hadn’t had a visitation from him in some time and was wanting to connect. In order to receive a visitation from my grandpa, or anyone I wish to connect with from the other side, is usually pretty simple. I simply say a prayer and ask, “If it can be please let it happen!” I put out the invitation and let it go.
With his last visitation I am almost asleep. As usual, grandpa stepped in on the left side, happier than the happiest person I had ever met. It is what he always projects out – pure happiness and light, shining his huge smile over me. He was a pretty large man in life and his entire being reminds me of pure sunshine, with a huge smile. Telepathically he is always telling me he loves me. It is the greatest feeling ever, pure joy and bliss. Exactly what I imagine Heaven to feel like. Continue reading
How To Conduct A Séance
When I facilitate a séance, it is to give the sitters opportunity to communicate with departed spirits that have crossed over to the other side, which the spirits like to call ‘home.’ Spirits often like to call the day they left the earth plain their ‘birthday’ going back home. Death is the beginning of their life in the other side, as some people like to call it. Matter cannot be destroyed it just changes form.
A séance is group session aimed at communicating with spirits. The word séance comes from the French word for seat, session or setting (from the old French seoir, which means to sit).
There are usually three to twelve people in the séance. I prefer six to eight, and if possible a mix of female and male energy. When people come to my space for a séance I have a nice round wooden pedestal table. Lighting is a personal preference. Some mediums like very little light, some like a red light, because they believe it is easier to see spirit in red light. I personally feel spirit can communicate in any kind of lighting. One Scary Ghost Ride
Just to let you know my friend, don’t take anything for granted. The next time you plan a family trip, remember, it could become a scary ride. Yes, even road trips can be haunted.
I was born in New Brunswick, on the East Coast of Canada, and through a variety of moves over the years ended up living in the province of British Columbia, which is on the opposite coast.
There are 12 children in our family and for most of the years that I have lived in the West, I was the only sibling residing out this way. Consequently, there were many times when I would take a plane trip and head East to visit my rowdy, motley crew.
A few years back, after a four hour plane ride, I ended up at my little sister’s place in Ontario. Because my sister prefers driving, we hopped in her car the next day and she drove for another six hour trip, and we landed at my brother and sister-in-law’s home in Montreal. We spent a casual few days visiting with them, as well as other members of our clan. Continue reading
Soul Rescue Versus Soul Retrieval
Sometimes soul rescue and soul retrieval are intertwined as being the same thing. There is a subtle, but key difference in my view.
In the case of soul retrieval we are finding an aspect of self and returning it back. Soul rescue refers to being of service to a spirit or soul that is temporarily lost, or needs guidance to continue its journey in non-ordinary reality, in the realm of Spirit, having left the physical plane.
In the shamanic community there is a technique known as soul retrieval which represents the fragmented self. The fragmented self is a part of us that becomes temporarily ‘disconnected’ from our etheric soul, from the context of associative memories of a time in our life. Continue reading
