Do You See Dead People?

That is one of the first things I ask people that take my psychic development class. When I first started my professional career as a psychic medium, people often asked me the same question. I used to be a little reluctant to answer.

Now, my quick reply is simply, “Why, yes I do.” Even though I am a medium, when they sometime appear in a place I’m not expecting the pleasure of their company, it can still startle me. My first reaction is to simply ask spirit what they would like me to know? Am I simply invading their space? It is my experience that spirit will try to get our attention in various ways.

I have never seen or heard an evil spirit, or had an adverse experience with the spirit world. I have encountered several playful spirits, who might move objects from their original place in my home, for example. For example, my scissors still hang in the same spot in my old house since my mother lived in it. Once in a while I find them on another hook where I keep my car keys… in a place across the room.

My first reaction is usually, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m losing it.” Then I hear, “It’s me just letting you know I’m still around.” Then I know for sure my mother is in the kitchen with me. Loved ones in spirit always like to communicate with us, especially to give guidance, help with life decisions, give comfort and help heal life’s heartaches.

Several spirits have communicated to me that they give advice, but are not invested in the way we use it, or not. It is like they are watching a movie. If it turns out not to be what they expected, they don’t feel upset, sad, or disappointed with the outcome. They merely hope we make the best choices for ourselves. Remember, spirit is not judgmental. You always have the ultimate decision for yourself.

‘People on the other side’ is how a lot of people refer to the departed. My personal opinion is there is no death. Energy is never destroyed. It merely changes form. People on the other side know us much better than they did in the physical world.  They see our spirit much clearer and that is what they are most connected to.

From spirit we came and will return. Even though we feel separated by the death of the body, it is possible to establish and maintain contact that transcends life and so-called ‘death.’

Spirit is around us all the time. Truth be told, we have loved ones and spirit guides around us all the time. You think of someone and it’s like a phone call or text that they always answer. Even though you may not see them or hear them, they are never that far away. In my experience it doesn’t matter how long they have been out of the physical body. It could be just a few minutes or several hundred years. The connection can be made.

That brings me to the question: can I communicate with a spirit that never knew me in the physical world? The answer is yes. When we cross over, all energy is connected. Some of the ways spirit lets us know they are around include touching our face, especially on the cheek, or a smell of something that reminds us of them. Or it may feel as though you just walked through a cob web. That usually happens in the house I have on the coast of Maine.

While driving you may even hear a voice telling you to “slow down”. Believe me that is one I always listen to. Sure enough, an animal or state trooper is usually within the next mile. And sometimes my grandmother gives me the taste of my favorite cookie… calorie free.

In closing I hope you understand that you are never alone. Spirit loves you.
