Embracing Your Shadow Self
In today’s so-called enlightened world, most people tend to concentrate on the ‘light’ so much that they tend to neglect their darker or ‘shadow side as a result. Truly, this is a pity as we can learn so much from it! Carl Jung said, “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
So just what is our Shadow? Interestingly, this is the side of us that we tend to hide from other people. Simply put, it is the home for our guilt, fears, emotional traumas, but yet at the same time, also houses our beauty and hidden abilities!
In fact, any side of ourselves that we tend to keep secret from other people forms our shadow side. Generally speaking, anything that we may class as being unacceptable by society, or our social circle, we tend to store away at the back of our mind. Continue reading
Clearing Toxic Energy From Your Home
When I read for a client, I am not just reading their energy, but I am also reading the energy of their loved ones, co-workers, friends, their home environment, as well as their work environment and community. During a psychic reading in can become evident, for example, that the home environment is toxic, stagnant, or energetically polluted, which has a negative effect on my client.
This pollution is not always metaphysical in origin. Sometimes it is caused by a physical contaminant. For example, it can be a mildew issue, which will make me smell mold and sense moisture, like a smothering humid feeling, or see black mildew spots on a psychic level. You get to choose which colors you like to have on the palette of your life – not what anyone else thinks you should have. It’s okay to paint exactly as you wish, as all great artist do. Color can empower you, color can uplift you, color can heal.
Embrace all your favorite colors, even the darker shades, including black. A lot of people fear the color black, but without the darkness of the shadows we cannot truly appreciate the light. I personally like the color black. It makes me feel good about myself. A few years ago I went to court for my divorce hearing. I had no lawyer; I chose to represent myself. I was wearing a black dress suit, with large, black leather purse. The judge took me seriously and granted all that I negotiated for. I give credit to my choice of wearing the color black. The Beautiful Season Of New Beginnings
Back in the Fall I posted a blog, titled Autumn Wishes, where I mentioned planting bulb, while wishing for a beautiful flower and praying for the fulfillment of a desire. At that time in October, it was my invitation for us to pause and notice the inexorable pull toward Winter Solstice. The days were growing incrementally shorter, ultimately culminating in the darkest day of the year.
But here we are now, and it is Spring again. Yes, it is the beautiful season of new beginnings, renewal and rebirth! Fresh buds are blooming, hibernating animals have been awakening and the earth seems to be coming to life again. Farmers and gardeners are now planting their future harvest, as temperatures slowly rise. Continue reading
Born To Be Psychic
What is it like to be born a psychic? The easy thing to say, that most will indeed say, is that it is both a gift and a curse. But that is such a broad statement. Personally, I have always loved being psychic.
I remember being three years old, when I knew that I saw and heard things which were not there. I would look at people and I would know things. I would know how they felt, in all senses of the word, and I would see colors around them, which told me how they were feeling physically.
I did not know what this was at the time. I just knew that when I saw a person with a certain color around them it meant they were feeling a certain way. I would try my best to avoid being around people that made me feel what they were feeling. But as an empath, I could not prevent these experiences. Continue reading
It’s Lucky I’m So Tough
In the area where we live the government has a program called Homeshare. What that means is people like my husband and myself will take in an individual with some type of disability. We are paid to have them come and live with us as part of our family. After our daughter passed away, we thought we might enrich our lives and help with our grieving by helping out someone else. We did not want to look after children or someone with extreme difficulties, as we are seniors and felt someone of that nature would prove to be too much of a burden for us. Continue reading
