The Color Palette Of Your Life
You get to choose which colors you like to have on the palette of your life – not what anyone else thinks you should have. It’s okay to paint exactly as you wish, as all great artist do. Color can empower you, color can uplift you, color can heal.
Embrace all your favorite colors, even the darker shades, including black. A lot of people fear the color black, but without the darkness of the shadows we cannot truly appreciate the light. I personally like the color black. It makes me feel good about myself. A few years ago I went to court for my divorce hearing. I had no lawyer; I chose to represent myself. I was wearing a black dress suit, with large, black leather purse. The judge took me seriously and granted all that I negotiated for. I give credit to my choice of wearing the color black.
Color, like features, follow the changes of the emotions ~ Pablo Picasso
Certain colors produce calm in people, while other colors have the potential to make them anxious, or aggressive. For example, the color red can bring up all sorts of emotions. For some it elicits anger or hostility, while others may experience joy or warmth.
People react differently to colors. What works for one may send another over the moon. Some people have had a good or bad experience in a place associated with a certain color. When they see that color again later, it produces a memory of the event.
Top interior designers usually understand how color may affect mood. Color can actually make or break the sale of a house, or the rental of an office space. For example, a massage therapist would want a space with the color that may help produce calm and relaxation in her clients. Some holistic practitioners use color therapy as an alternative way to help produce healing for people and pets.
Explore the magic of color, and always choose the colors that make you feel like the best version of yourself.
