The Sins Of The Forefathers
Ancestor worship is a wide-spread belief system, in both primitive and sophisticated cultures. Ancestral healing unfortunately gets very little attention these days, even though some of our patterns and energy imbalances may well stem from our genetic pool.
My first exposure to the concept of communicating with our Ancestors occurred many years ago, during initiation into the Southern African culture of divining and healing. During my training to become a Sangoma*, in a remote area in Southern Africa, time was always put aside for offering prayers to, and for consulting with the Ancestors. Communication Is Key To Long-Term Love
It is so important to always keep the lines of communication open. Without it our relationships will not grow. I cannot stress enough how essential this is. It is the foundation, as it allows us to share our interests, to organize our lives and to make the best decisions.
Working together is the way we talk and listen to each other, not at each other. Always be clear about what you want, and need to say, so that your partner hears it accurately and understands you, and does not get any mixed signals. Talking To The Animals
I am often contacted for psychic readings about animals: missing cats, dogs present and past, sick horses and, even that brutal question as to whether it would be kinder to end an ailing animal’s suffering. Today, just such a request came in from a long-standing client, asking me to communicate with her little doggie, Patches.
She needed to know if Patches wanted to continue, or whether he preferred to be released from his physical discomfort and allowed to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. She knew he wasn’t feeling well, and yet, the veterinarians have been unable to diagnose his problem. It’s one of the most heart-wrenching requests I have been faced with in some time.
I sat quietly and envisioned Patches in my mind’s eye. He kept showing me the number 12. Before going further, I contacted Patches’ owner, and asked her the meaning of the 12. He is twelve years old, my client responded. Although the ultimate decision will be my client’s, I felt this was a subliminal message from Patches – his planned life span was to be here for 12 years. Gemini – Two For The Price Of One!
The glyph for those born under a Gemini Sun, between May 21 and June 21, is the Roman numeral for the number 2. The Twins. Like their symbol, Gemini tends to have more than one side to their personality. They may have a public persona, and an entirely different private side seen only by their closest friends and confidantes.
Many Geminis are excellent communicators and love to talk. This comes as no surprise, since their planetary ruler is Mercury, the messenger. Asking Your Spirit Helpers To Help Solve Problems
Earlier this week, I called upon my spirit helpers to assist me in finding some direction. I needed some help with something which, although not yet urgent, has been niggling at me. I needed to find some information which I would require soon. Although there is information on the subject available online, I hadn’t been able to come up with anything useful to date, even after doing several searches.
So, two night ago, I asked my guides to point me in the right direction and sure enough, today, I did a random search, typing in keywords which literally ‘popped up’ from nowhere. These search terms brought up some useful information and contacts. I believe spirit delivered, and quickly!
When I invoke spirit’s help, I usually call upon my angels and guides individually, but this time, prior to going to sleep, I envisioned I was liaising with the same council of wise beings I recall being summoned to during a life threatening illness many years ago. At that point in my life there was a decision to be made in the presence of these wise souls, as to whether or not I was going to come back to this earth plane. I was on life support at the time. Mediumship is the term used for spirit communication and is distinctly related to connecting to the spiritual essence of loved ones that have passed on. Throughout history, this label has been relegated to specific individuals called mediums, and the primary source of messages come through channeling or other experiences. However, the practice of mediumship can also be an individual or private practice.
Spirit is the transcendent force that unites all things, and it is this interconnected nature that allows us to connect with God, angels, spirit guides, and even loved ones that have transitioned into the realm beyond.
