Talking To The Animals
I am often contacted for psychic readings about animals: missing cats, dogs present and past, sick horses and, even that brutal question as to whether it would be kinder to end an ailing animal’s suffering. Today, just such a request came in from a long-standing client, asking me to communicate with her little doggie, Patches.
She needed to know if Patches wanted to continue, or whether he preferred to be released from his physical discomfort and allowed to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. She knew he wasn’t feeling well, and yet, the veterinarians have been unable to diagnose his problem. It’s one of the most heart-wrenching requests I have been faced with in some time.
I sat quietly and envisioned Patches in my mind’s eye. He kept showing me the number 12. Before going further, I contacted Patches’ owner, and asked her the meaning of the 12. He is twelve years old, my client responded. Although the ultimate decision will be my client’s, I felt this was a subliminal message from Patches – his planned life span was to be here for 12 years.
Although the ability to communicate telepathically usually is lost in childhood in our culture, where there is love for animals and willingness to re-learn, that ability can be revived ~ Penelope Smith
I believe that we are all born with the ability to communicate with animals telepathically, and there is an increasing practice of this awareness and communication internationally. I have been called foolish for believing that animals can communicate with us. Because of condemnation by others, it’s easy to shut down, become insecure, and just think it’s only our wild imagination when we feel we are getting impressions from our pets, and even wild animals. But it is not.
Because I do networking for abused and homeless animals online, I get to see some horrifying cases, which I would, frankly, prefer never to witness. Yet, the networking done by so many in this field is helping so many rescue animals find good homes, that I decided I will continue to do my part in these networking efforts. In addition to this, it occurred to me that it will also do absolutely no harm to send some healing and loving energy to all animals in distress. It feels right, so I focus on healing them anyway.
It’s important not to believe everything others tell us, especially when it doesn’t resonate with us. In our day-to-day lives, we are conditioned to make sense of, and analyze everything we do. For example, we are lead to believe that if we can’t see it, feel it, or hear it, it doesn’t exist. This is a left-brain view. We tend to forget all about our right brain, because we spend so much time using mostly our left brain. Our intuition is connected to the right brain. We can see the right brain as a muscle we haven’t used in a long, long time, which needs to be exercised to become strong again.
So, how does one communicate telepathically with animals? The important first step is to quiet your mind. Silence all the chatter going on in your left brain; sit quietly and calm your mind to access your intuitive senses. If you try to communicate with an animal when your mind is hyperactive, the animal picks up a busy signal. Not to mention, if our minds are cluttered, we also won’t hear them clearly.
We can all remember how to listen and perceive the true nature and essence of an animal’s unique personality and soul. The universal language of telepathy allows us to use our natural intuition and abilities to communicate with other species ~ Anna Breytenbach
Send the animal a wave of unconditional love, as you ask their permission to talk with them. It doesn’t matter if they are right next to you, or in a far-off location.
When I studied animal communication, I was told that we will experience an animal’s communication coming to us through feelings and images – like a movie playing in our head. Silent words or mental images are a great way to send messages. These words or images are vehicles carrying the energetic content of what we are relaying to the soul in animal form.
You may simply want to ask an animal what is stressing them, and often, you will be directed to imagery in their particular surroundings, as you sense chaos or noise, or humans around the animal shouting.
You can help in de-stressing an animal by reassuring them. Remain receptive and you will learn about behavioral issues, their worries, wishes, and health symptoms bothering them. You can also use the insights you gain to help create awareness of the sentient intelligent wild and domestic creatures around us.

Such a lovely blog, thank you. I agree that it is so important for us as fellow- beings with the animals to be connected with them and to have an awareness of their feelings.
Thank You Shani!
