The World Is A Metaphor For Human Consciousness
The natural world around us reflects the internal evolutionary patterns of human consciousness. Seasons are a good reflection of how we as humans evolve and grow at the level of consciousness. The closer you get to the poles the climates are often cold and rigid. These climates do not support a large variety of life.
We see something similar taking place within the human mind. The more polarized and rigid someone becomes in their thinking patterns the less variety and the less diversity of life experiences take place. We can have very rigid patterns of thinking, which tend to leave us cold and static in our experiences.
As we move more toward the center of our globe, we see more diversity of life. We also begin to see seasonal changes taking place on a more regular basis. There are seasons where trees lose their leaves, animals hibernate, and activity slows down. In consciousness this could symbolize a person that is beginning to expand their consciousness. Someone willing to change and grow.
This level of consciousness that northern and southern regions represent easier it is for someone to accept the ebb and flow of life. An acceptance of both the light and the dark can emerge at this stage and people become more aware of their emotions.
The closer to the center someone gets within consciousness the more diversity and love they experience. They are not focused on polarity at all, but instead accept life as it comes. This often includes acceptance of the storms in life that are produced by the overall polarized climate.
Astrology Forecast October 18 – 24, 2021
Mercury will resume forward motion today, but because it takes another week or two to get out of the retrograde shadow period, don’t assume we’re out of the woods yet! Continue to back up all your computer work and digital devices; take everything you hear with a grain of salt; tale extra care if you have to travel; and expect the unexpected until the retrograde after effects completely clears.
We have a lovely Aries Full Moon coming up on Wednesday, also called the Hunter’s Moon, which will generate a confidence in our skills and abilities, energetic vitality, mental sharpness, and sense of financial security. It is also a good time to be assertive and take on difficult challenges. Having what we need, as well as receiving something we want, are further positive aspects of this Moon. The restrictions we’ve faced over the past 18 months will now culminate in some solid solutions and relief.
Beware the Taurus Moon square Jupiter in Aquarius on Friday, because there is a risk of conflict and drama in romantic relationships. The Taurus Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn later in the day could also cause us to be emotionally selfish and restless, which could get us into trouble if we act impulsively on our sudden urge for adventure and excitement.
The Sun will enter karmic Scorpio between late Friday and early Saturday morning, which will shift our focus to the possibilities that await us. For the next four weeks, we will feel more in tune with spirit and our divine destiny, releasing the things that no longer serve us and embracing the true wonder of our lives. This is also a time when the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest, and we can more easily receive messages and guidance from our loved ones on the other side.
With the Moon traveling through Gemini this weekend, it could be an ideal time to try your hand at a channeling session, or connect with someone who can translate important messages from the spirit world for you.
The Spiritual Calling Of Animal Rescue
I have always felt that I have two life callings: my work and taking care of rescue animals. And I aim to do both to the best of my ability.
A neighbor stopped me today as I was walking my dogs. This often happens when I am out with them. He asked me why I chose to walk the dogs, while I have a large plot of land for them to freely roam.
Well, they do run around on the property, at least the two younger ones do, but the pleasure of walking them is immeasurable. It is a true joy to see them relishing in the unfamiliar smells and the intriguing creatures they encounter in the countryside. They even made friends with a nearby farm’s goats and another neighbor’s cat.
I also enjoy the lovely countryside around me, which I will be less likely to experience on my own had it not been for the reminding me every day that it is time to go ‘walkies.’ Apart from the obvious exercise being advantageous for my health and well-being, it is also a sort of a meditative process and spiritual practice, because I am required to be very present in the moment.
One of my dogs is a warren hound, known in Spanish as a podenco. They are a Mediterranean rabbit-hunting dog breed. So, she’s a hunting dog and if she suddenly makes a dash to chase something, she could easily catch me off guard and pull me over. I can therefore no afford to be distracted or preoccupied. Instead, I must mindful and aware, which is very beneficial for my inner peace and spiritual alignment.
My dogs and cats are all rescues, some from unthinkably harsh backgrounds. Looking after them has involved a lot of care and veterinary visits, including many specialist observations and surgeries. When you take rescues into your home, they tend to come with much fear and many insecurities, which takes patience and unconditional love.
Two large rescue dogs, that have since departed this life to cross over the rainbow-bridge, wouldn’t allow me to touch them and refused to come inside the house. I provided them adequate shelter outside, but it still bothered me, because the winters can be harsh here in Spain.
The Healing Power Of Positive Self-Talk
Most people indulge more in negative self-talk, than positive. But self-talk is not supposed to be negative and overly critical. We are supposed to use it to encourage, empower and motivate ourselves to achieve success and follow our dreams.
Our brain has the conscious mind, the subconscious mind, and what is known in hypnosis as the critical factor of mind. This critical factor is that part of our consciousness that checks and filters every through and idea that enters our mind. It is like the gatekeeper or the guardian between the conscious mind and the subconscious. That is how hypnosis works – it is a way to bypass the critical factor so that we can access the subconscious and reprogram it with new information and insights for healing and self-empowerment.
The role of the critical factor is to protect our mind, but this is not always a good thing. Because of the job the critical mind is tasked to do, it tends to be critical of everything. It is unfortunately also that part of our brain that says we are not worthy or deserving, that we cannot do things, or achieve things.
I cannot get the job I really want.
I’m not worthy of a happy, healthy relationship.
I am not smart and pretty enough.
People just don’t like me.
Why do bad things always happen to me?
The one big problem with the critical factor is that it does not always see or hear things the way they really are. It can convince of things that are not true at all. For example, it may you that others are trying to get you fired from a job, when in fact the boss is trying to help you keep your job.
Astrology Forecast October 11 – 17, 2021
We initially could find ourselves more interested in socializing than working today, as the Moon moves through Sagittarius, but later in the day it transits into Capricorn to inspire us to be more productive for the next three days. A Capricorn Moon tends to make us feel more serious and determined and we tend to be more focused and able to concentrate.
Ideally, you may want to tackle as much as you can by Wednesday, as things will start to go somewhat sideways when the Moon moves into Aquarius on Thursday. We can pretty much write off the rest of the workweek after that, as constant interruptions, unexpected work, and a sudden shift in direction are all aspects of this Aquarian Moon. Mercury being in retrograde for another week will not make things any easier either!
Friday promises to be a happy and harmonious day with the Sun in Libra trine Moon in Aquarius. This aspect is also known for a sense of vitality, health and well-being, so make the most of it with an early morning walk or run, and a healthy breakfast. If you have the day off, you might even consider a visit to the spa.
Mercury in Libra sextile Venus in Sagittarius will continue the upbeat trend on Saturday evening with a cheerful lightheartedness and inspired creativity. A good time to get back to finishing that art or craft project you have been procrastinating. The weekend will generally prove much calmer when the Moon travels into Pisces and slows outer movement. Going within, self-care and ‘me time’ will be the theme.
Jupiter goes direct on Sunday, and as the third planet to resume forward motion this month, a sense of order and peace will move us through the rest of October. Remember that Jupiter is all about expansion, growth, and gifts, so practicing gratitude and asking Spirit for direction will go a long way once this planet starts moving forward again.
The Power And Beauty Of Your Inner Divine Light
A friend recently asked me to help her hang a new chandelier. And reluctantly, I agreed to give up my treasured Sunday evening movie time to help with the project.
Arriving at her house, I found her with a very heavy box nearly five feet tall. At first, I could not fathom the actual size and shape of the chandelier hidden beneath the layers of packaging and thick pieces of unyielding plywood and cardboard.
I was surprised to eventually find what seemed like a chaotic mess of tangled wires affixed to hundreds of tiny quartz crystals. Could it be a warehouse or shipping mishap, I wondered?
I stepped back and took a deep breath, asking myself if I had maybe taken on more than can handle. But before I could speculate any further, my friend proceeded to life up the chandelier to allow each of the seemingly coiled wires to gently fall into place!
I was amazed at how something that appeared so entangled and messy one moment, could suddenly transform into this breathtaking spectacle of sparkling light. Then we added the large quartz stones for the ends to complete the fixture, and soon it was hanging in my friend’s dining room. And I stood back in awe of its magnificent beauty. I was speechless.
This experience reminded me of those times in life when everything seems to be upside down and off-kilter. Those unexpected situations that render us temporarily overwhelmed. I have no shame in admitting that I have succumbed to feeling somewhat defeated in moments like that.
But what I have also learned with the guidance of Spirit is there is always the opportunity in our lives to transform with just a little bit of courage and perseverance a seemingly messy dilemma into something positive and beautiful. No matter how difficult a situation might appear, there is always a silver lining. Continue reading
Life Invites You To Dance
In the quietude of the morning, as the sun gently rises with a golden glow glistening through the trees, I feel a calm within reflecting the clear blue sky. The season is changing. The heavy heat and humidity of summer has dissolved into an idyllic balance of coolness, warmth, and lightness in the air.
It is a time of transition, moving toward autumn, but not fully there yet. For me, it is a season of revitalization and renewed inspiration. The vastness of nature expands all around and the interconnectedness of every soul within it reaches the forefront of my awareness.
Today, I will be intuitively teaching a dancing with nature class at the World Peace Sanctuary nearby. All of life is a dance with nature and its Creator. We are invited into that partnership and party of life, to move together in joy and harmony.
But how do we join the flow? It begins at the feet, at the root of the tree of life. In Srimad-Bhagavatam, the great celestial sage Narada instructs, “As pouring water on the root of a tree energizes the trunk, branches, twigs and everything else, and as supplying food to the stomach enlivens the senses and limbs of the body, simply worshiping the Supreme Personality of Godhead through devotional service automatically satisfies the demigods, who are parts of that Supreme Personality.”
Not only are angels, nature spirits, and demigods part of the tree, but so are we. Like leaves upon it, we are connected not only with the twigs, branches, and trunk, but with the root, the very source and sustenance of all life. By watering that root with our whole-hearted attention and intention, we are nourished, supplied, and satisfied.
But what does this mean practically? It means peace and growth rest not in pursuit of individual desires, but in harmony with and service to Divine desires. Endeavoring to serve separate interests is futile and unfulfilling, just as watering the leaves and limbs of a tree individually would be. They would dry up and die if simply watered separately.
