Psychics And Mediums: What’s the Difference?
Many people automatically assume that psychics and mediums are one and the same. The truth is, all mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums.
By definition, a psychic is any person with some form of extrasensory perception (ESP). ESP takes different forms and some psychics are gifted in more than one area. A medium, by contrast, is a very specific kind of psychic, someone who can communicate directly with the spirit realms.
For many reasons, psychics are sometimes viewed more skeptically than mediums by the average person. There is no “proven” way to tell if someone is psychic; everyone has some degree of psychic ability, but some are naturally more gifted than others. Growing Up Psychic – Part 1
I was born into a psychic family who lived in a haunted home. I was unaware of this at first and knew nothing about mediumship, clairvoyance or the supernatural. But the quest for answers began at a young age. It was inevitable, since there was a lot of paranormal activity in our house and I had a natural curiosity about all things paranormal.
I didn’t know at the time about being gifted or communicating with ghost or spirits, but I did notice whenever I went over to a friend’s house that I could feel a difference in the energy at his house. It was nothing like what I experienced at my parents’ house. And when I went to both grandparents’ homes I could feel that something was trying to communicate with me there. Mooney’s Mansion On Walhalla Road
In 1979, while still in high school, I had a profound paranormal encounter. At the time I was working for my brother-in-law for the summer vacation, to earn a few extra bucks. He operated a house painting service in those days.
He came up to me one day and said: “You will not believe where we are going to paint next!” To my shock and horror he revealed that we would be working at Mooney’s Mansion on Walhalla Road – one of the most notorious haunted places in Columbus, Ohio. I humbly requested to work on another project, but he refused saying he needed all his painters out there, since it was a large project.
Going down Walhalla Road again brought back many childhood memories and it still gave me the creeps. As kids we used to take a ride down the road on our bicycles to go by the old mansion. We hoped to see the ghost of old man Mooney and the place where he was supposed to hang himself off the bridge. Continue reading
Understanding Psychic Readings – The Clair Senses
The most commonly known and used ‘clair sense’ in psychic and spiritual circles is clairvoyance. This particular gift is very common in individuals that have a specific soul mission to use their psychic gift predominately for readings. It has even become a universal term that often includes the other clair gifts.
The term “clairvoyant” comes from the French clair, meaning clear (from the Latin clarus), and voyant, the present participle of voir, meaning to see (from the Latin videre)*.

Seven Types Of Psychic Ability
In the psychic world we often refer to the seven “clairs” when discussing psychic abilities. “Clair” is French for “clear.” In the mortal, mundane world, we receive messages via text, email, or in person all the time. In the psychic realm there are almost infinite numbers of ways to send and receive messages, and if you’re gifted with one of the “clairs” as some people are, you will know this.
While we as humans only have five senses, there are believed to be seven basic types of psychic ability: clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience, clairtangency, clairscent, clairgustance, and claircognizance.

Ghostly Encounter At My First School
My fascination with the paranormal created quite a bit of mayhem when I started school. I was going to the same school where my sister and older brothers went before me. I had one older brother who still went to the same school at the time, and he kind made a point of it that when I saw him at school I was not to bother him. My brother was also the one who told me about the old annex building at school being haunted. The annex building used to be the original school house for one of the first schools in Columbus, Ohio.
I remember meeting my teacher on the first day and she seemed pretty nice. It made me feel better about the ghost stories my older brother told me. I was not keen to go to school at first. Not only did we grow up in a house that was haunted, could it be true that the school was haunted too! Continue reading
