But, It’s Mercury Retrograde…
Mercury went direct, finally, on June 3rd and not a moment too soon! If I can help it, I try to avoid signing new leases, having a carpenter come over to begin a new project, having a contractor pave our streets, or a daughter begin rehearsals on a very important one woman show she’s performing in New York City this summer.
You’d think having a resident astrologer on board would prevent all calamities from occurring. Not! That’s because I’m the town crier three to four times per year when Mercury retrograde takes to its sickbed. You can see me yelling through the streets warning all to thoroughly research, plan, to look before leaping, and expect delays, setbacks, and re-dos of whatever it is you’ve haphazardly done before.
Allow me to introduce myself: I’m the astrologer who cries wolf to a legion of fans who roll eyes at me. “No not this retrograde thing again! We’ve heard that before. Again, and again.
And you’ll hear it again because Mercury retrograde is one of those red flags that wave in your face and cause you to trip on a crack that needs fixing. It’s a backwards trickster this Mercury retrograde, and you’d best pay heed.
During the recent retrograde, I did my best to sound the alarm, but I was unilaterally ignored to the detriment of all who claimed they never heard my siren.
First case in point: My husband had my brother-in-law pop by for a sleepover yesterday with ulterior motives to utilize his unparalleled carpentry skills to beautify our wall. “All you gotta do is slap on a simple rock board before we add the stone,” proclaimed hubby. “Nothing to it for a master carpenter like you. Come on over for dinner, movies, and don’t forget your saw and tool kit!”
But it’s Mercury retrograde,” I whispered to my husband.
Astrology Forecast June 13 – 19, 2022
Tomorrow’s Sagittarius Full Moon is the star of the show this week, emanating a joyful and optimistic energy all around us.
Full Moons are known for marking a time of release, so we should spend the next two weeks releasing old fears or worries, letting go of things that no longer bring us joy or fulfillment in our lives, and making a plan for new goals and activities that will enrich our lives.
Today and tomorrow’s Sagittarius Moon could however make it difficult to get anything done, as we’d rather want to play than work.
Fortunately Mercury in Gemini will help to even the score by inspiring us with mental acuity and curiosity. Use this energy to at least make some new plans or do research on that trip you have been putting off.
Once the Moon moves into Capricorn on Wednesday and Thursday, we’ll have no trouble making up for lost work time.
Remember to watch your step Wednesday morning under the Capricorn Moon square Jupiter in Aries, as this aspect has a the potential to get us into trouble with the law and the authorities. It can also be the catalyst for upheaval in romantic relationships.
Prepare to expect the unexpected as the Moon charges through Aquarius on Friday and Saturday, upending plans or presenting a better idea in its wake. Just remember to remain flexible and open to the shifts, as the Universe will be driving the bus on those days.
A Pisces Moon on Sunday will add a more relaxing energy to the day, promoting easy-going and restful activities, as well as the chance to regroup after a busy week.
Astrology Forecast June 6 – 12, 2022
A nice quiet week awaits, with no major astrological shifts or events.
With the Moon traveling through Virgo today and tomorrow, we’ll find this the ideal time to address detailed work and organizational tasks. The Virgo Moon inspires productivity and conscientiousness. Things have been up and down over the last month, so now is the time to fulfil our duties and get things back on track.
If you are married or in a relationship tomorrow’s shifting lunar energies may require you to proceed with caution when interacting with your significant other. The day may start off on a warm and fuzzy romantic note early on Tuesday morning under the Virgo Moon trine Venus in Taurus, but the mood may turn volatile with disagreement and conflict in the afternoon due to the Half Moon in Virgo. Stay calm and think twice before your overreact.
Wednesday and Thursday’s Libra Moon will also give us the power to restore balance and equilibrium to our surroundings, movements, and ideals. Whatever is out of balance should become quite clear mid-week, allowing us to regroup and set things right. If you intend to plan your next vacation or an adventure outing then your lunch break on Wednesday would be an ideal time to research possibilities or even make the necessary bookings under The Virgo Moon trine Pluto in Capricorn – an emotional aspect that invokes a sense of adventure, travel and discovering new destinations.
We’ll be operating under the influence of a Scorpio Moon from Friday until Sunday, allowing us to step back from an external focus and look toward more spiritual and soulful activities. This could be a great time to get out and browse a metaphysical store or psychic fair, or simply do a little window shopping. The main aim is to have some fun and indulge in your favorite pastime.
Astrology Forecast May 30 – June 5, 2022
With a Gemini New Moon in the heavens today, we can make a wish and start formulating a plan for the future. The Gemini Moon will likely have us doing more socializing than working today and tomorrow, as our quest for new and shared information prevails.
The Gemini Moon square Neptune in Pisces tomorrow afternoon will set the scene for a fickle, emotional mid-week by causing us to be passive, unrealistic, and indulging in wishful thinking.
This will be followed by a moody, even gloomy energy that will hang over us on Wednesday and Thursday, as the Moon drifts through emotional Cancer, and we’ll have to watch out for sensitivity or depression, which meditation and spiritual practices can help alleviate. Keep things simple, attend household obligations and avoid making any dyed-in-the-wool decisions.
The mood will rapidly begin to improve early on Friday morning with the Cancer Moon sextile Mercury in Taurus with an increased sense of clarity and more sound judgment. Friday afternoon the Moon will move firmly into Leo and provide us with a more confident outlook for the weekend, reminding us to practice self-love and to be generous with others in all our interactions.
Mercury will thankfully turn direct on Friday, but do allow a week or two after for the retrograde glitches to clear entirely.
Saturday, Saturn will turn retrograde and remain that way until late October. When Saturn is retrograde, it gives us a few months to move without the regular restrictions and disciplines this planet is famous for, allowing us to explore new schedules and ways of being that might serve us better in the future.
Astrology Forecast May 23 – 29, 2022
The Moon will travel through Pisces today and tomorrow, making it difficult to get anything tangible done, so if you find yourself fighting windmills and nothing seems to move, just bide your time until Wednesday.
Today and tomorrow’s Gemini Sun sextile Jupiter in Aries is an ideal aspect to ensure our week gets off to a fantastic start with a sense of vigor and vitality, and heightened success and luck in professional and social matters. The Pisces Moon sextile Uranus in Taurus this afternoon will further enhance these energies by increasing our levels of attention, determination and persuasiveness and our ability to be inventive.
Mars and Venus make sign changes this week, both moving into signs they rule, Aries and Taurus respectively.
Mars will move into Aries tomorrow, pulling out of ethereal Pisces and into high energy and action mode. For the next six weeks, we’ll have the power to make things happen! This assertive planet and creative sign combination will allow us to move confidently into new adventures and enterprises.
Venus will move into Taurus on Saturday, casting a more comfortable and joyful tone around our movements and perspectives for the next four weeks.
Once the Moon goes into Aries on Wednesday and Thursday and then moves into Taurus Friday and Saturday, we’ll be able to accomplish twice what’s on our lists and experience tangible progress.
Sunday’s Gemini Moon will bring out our social sides, whether we’re immersed in social media activities or out meeting friends for a long-overdue visit.
Astrology Forecast May 16 – 22, 2022
The week flows along relatively smoothly (not counting any Mercury retrograde glitches!) as we prepare to welcome the Sun’s entry into Gemini on Friday.
We’ll keep a light-hearted focus as the Moon moves through Sagittarius today and tomorrow. This morning’s Sagittarius Moon trine Jupiter in Aries is an ideal constellation to start a week, as it is associated with both financial gains and social prowess. But be careful not to let this afternoon’s Sagittarius Moon opposition to Mercury in Gemini undo all your earlier optimism and hard work with fickle, erratic thinking and hasty actions.
When the Moon moves through Capricorn on Wednesday and Thursday, it’s all work and no play, so we’ll have to put our noses to the grindstone and take care of business! Once completed though, we’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment, which will leave us free to embrace a weekend of social activities and intellectual pursuits.
The Moon will move into Aquarius on Friday, and combined with the Sun’s entry into Gemini, fill us with ideas, inspiration, and innovation! This is the time to start brainstorming for new ideas or searching for the answers to long-standing mysteries.
With the Sun in Gemini for the next four weeks, it’s also a great time to reconnect with long-lost friends or go in search of our soulmates.
Make it a point to take things easy on Sunday as the Moon dances through spiritual Pisces, focusing on pursuits that feed your soul.
Jupiter, Pluto And The Judgment Of Solomon
One of my favorite astrologers, Christopher Renstrom, is an uber-wise storyteller who has a knack for bringing profound astrological messages to life. He recently spoke about the separating Jupiter-Pluto energies, likening both Jupiter and Pluto to judges: Jupiter symbolizing Zeus, the benevolent King of Mount Olympus, and Pluto to Hades, his brother, the King of the Underworld.
In many ways these energies are opposite to one another, one reigning in the light (Jupiter), the other in the dark at night, beneath the surface of things (Pluto). Yet, both kings preside in judgment over matters brought to their attention.
Christopher went on to relay the story of The Judgement of Solomon from the Hebrew Bible, in which Solomon rules between two women both claiming to be the mother of a particular child. The explained that this story beautifully exemplifies Jupiter and Pluto in their role as judges over life and death.
In the story, two women had given birth, but tragically one of the babies did not survive when the mother accidentally rolled over on the child in her sleep. In the morning, she secretly switched the two babies, giving the deceased newborn to the other mother. This mother awoke and found the lifeless child, but knew this wasn’t her baby. She knew the living child belonged to her instead, but the other mother denied this and wouldn’t give up the living child.
The case went before King Solomon, who agreed to listen to anyone’s complaint, no matter what walk of life they came from. And so, each mother, in-turn, argued her side, with no corroborating witnesses to back them up.
Solomon listened intently, then asked for a sword. He then ordered the living child be cut in two, with one half handed to each of the mothers as a fair resolution of the dispute. But the true mother of the living baby implored the king not to kill the innocent child, but instead willingly relinquished the baby to the other mother. The illegitimate mother, however, demanded the child be killed so no one would have it, dispensing her own morbid sense of justice.
