Mediumship Is Not A Psychic Sideshow
Mediumship presented as entertainment is a double-edged sword. The media hype generated by psychic television shows, and live stage performances featuring celebrity mediums, has no doubt contributed much to an increased public awareness of mediumship. It has liberated spiritualism from the stereotype of the 19th century séance by bringing the work of the psychic medium into the public domain, and into mainstream pop culture.
But does mediumship as an entertainment genre do spiritualism and the daily work of psychics any real justice? I am certainly not a purist. Neither am I a traditionalist when it comes to spiritual matters. I tend to shy away from any form of fundamentalism or fanaticism. But having the work of talented mediums dished up as trivial amusement has certainly proven to be a mixed blessing in my own practice as psychic medium. Continue reading
How Dream Interpretation Prepared A Family
I do dream interpretation for many clients. One of my clients dreams is a great example of how I work and how someone could benefit from having the heads up as to what is to come, by way of dream interpretation. Our higher consciousness will often times give us a warning dream before something major happens in our lives.
The client told me she dreamed that she was in an indoor cemetery inside a huge building. As she was leaving and closing it up, she turned around to go back in. Several doors were unlocked and people were coming in and putting presents at the front door of this building, where a gigantic Christmas tree was standing. In front of this huge tree was an enormous bed on which they were putting all of these presents. She said to these people, “This building is closed and you have to go.” They said, “Okay, but first we just want to put these presents on this bed and then we will go.” The people then left and the dream ended. Moldavite: A Connection To Higher Realms
I love my crystals. I have many of them. I recently acquired one that I have been wanting for a very long time: Moldavite. I have heard many wonderful things about this crystal and so I just had to try it.
The only thing I didn’t like about shopping for this new crystal was the cost. I went to a rock, gem and mineral show in my area recently and they had Moldavite for sale, but wanted the price of the Moon for it. After lots of meditation and prayer I received a vision during my quiet time and I knew exactly where to go: a metaphysical shop not too far from my home. There I found 6 grams worth of Moldavite for only $65! I feel I got a really good deal, considering most sellers were charging a lot more. Continue reading
The Misunderstood Ouija Board
The most misunderstood item in the diviner’s toolbox is probably the Ouija board. Since its invention the debate continues to this day whether this famous item is merely a game, a glimpse into our subconscious, a gateway into the spirit realms, or even an “instrument of evil.”
Like any channeling object or psychic tool, the Ouija board must be used with great care and respect. Its origins go back to the late 19th century and the practice of spiritualism, or séances to connect with loved ones who had passed on. Psychics And Mediums: What’s the Difference?
Many people automatically assume that psychics and mediums are one and the same. The truth is, all mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums.
By definition, a psychic is any person with some form of extrasensory perception (ESP). ESP takes different forms and some psychics are gifted in more than one area. A medium, by contrast, is a very specific kind of psychic, someone who can communicate directly with the spirit realms.
For many reasons, psychics are sometimes viewed more skeptically than mediums by the average person. There is no “proven” way to tell if someone is psychic; everyone has some degree of psychic ability, but some are naturally more gifted than others. Mediums, on the other hand, can often convey specific, accurate or familiar information from a deceased friend or family member to a bereaved survivor. Continue reading
Prairie Dog Wisdom
In Native American tradition the “prairie dog” brings with it a special message of retreat when it crosses our path. In times of stress and over-exertion it reminds us to take some time out, withdraw from our busy modern lives and recharge our batteries.
This is what the prairie dog does when it gets into trouble. It withdraws into the safe depths of the earth, with several escape routes waiting in case of emergency. The prairie dog teaches us to pick our battles carefully. Prairie dog medicine is also symbolic of the opposite. In times when we have become too withdrawn and disconnected from family, friends and the world around us, this magical animal encourages us to reach out to others and join in social activities. The Astrological Significance Of The Pleiades
I recently watched this amazing dance performance in a YouTube video which reminded me of special set of stars, and the power they hold in determining our path through life. The dance, titled Pleiades, was inspired by the grouping of stars by the same name. Not many people know that the Pleiades are actually significant in astrological terms.
Pleiades means “Seven Sisters,” and it refers to a star cluster that exists on the shoulder of Taurus (the bull) located at 00°00′ Gemini. But to understand this blog article you do not need to understand the technical dynamics of the star positioning.
In folk understanding of the Seven Stars this particular grouping of stars is often associated with homosexuality. My personal viewpoint is that they are not associated with being gay, but may very well be a contributing factor to being gay. As far as I am concerned, this particular grouping of stars is more associated with creativity, vision, passion, and often times intuitive understanding. Continue reading
