Old Green Eyes – The Ghost of Chickamauga
The American Civil War was fought 150 years ago, yet people remain fascinated with its history. As it turns out, the battlefield said to be the most haunted is located right here in the South, not too far from where I live.
Chickamauga, on the border of Tennessee and Georgia, takes its name from a Native American word meaning “bloody river.” It was the second bloodiest battle of the war after Gettysburg, so the name turned out to be quite fitting.
Many ghosts, including those of a Confederate soldier and a bride-to-be pining for her lost fiancée, have been spotted at Chickamauga. But the most famous legend, “Old Green Eyes,” may not even be a traditional ghost at all. Legends surrounding the spirit go back to the Cherokee and Creek tribes who originally lived in the area. They tell of a large-bodied creature, or sometimes a floating head, with sharp fangs and glowing green eyes. Continue reading
I Have No Rest, But Only Turmoil
Recently I was asked to go to the home of a friend who I used to work with. There was something paranormal going on at her house and had asked for my help.
The house is more than a 100 years old and it is divided into three sections, with two upper levels. When I entered the house I felt there was an energy around that was positive and benevolent, but there was also something there that was negative and malicious. It was clear to me that this house was home to some kind of daily spiritual tension or battle.
It was getting close to midnight and I wanted to start taking pictures, both with the light turned on and off. First I lead us in prayer asking for protection and guidance. After the prayer we both introduced ourselves, to let whoever was present know that we meant no harm. I also made it clear that I was going to take some pictures and invited anyone present in spirit to come forward and make their presence known. Continue reading
Shadow Beings Be Gone!
Very recently, for a period of just a few days at around dusk, I kept on seeing dark shadow figures to my left, in my peripheral vision. These dark shadows would move quickly and, although not eerie, they were unlike what I usually witness when I see spirit. My Husky cross, Collie, is always sensitive to the presence of spirit in my work room, and I know from her stares at these dark shadows that she saw them too, but she wasn’t at all perturbed.
It occurred to me only a few days ago that during that brief period of witnessing the shadowy figures, a few chaotic days followed: a water heater burst, a generator went up in smoke, the washing machine seemed to have reprogrammed itself, my older dog was diagnosed with a tumor, my youngest dog ate some of my cash money, as well as other minor aggravations, like power outages. The Haunted Furniture
When I met my wife and we started to date, I had a hard time to open up to her to tell her I do psychic readings.
Ironically, there was a psychic lady who lived about four miles down the road who told her she was going to meet someone who lives nearby, that he also does psychic readings and that we were going to get married. She told her several other things too. She said this man you will meet went to the same high school, you have a past work connection with his family and he will one day help your sister in a time of need.
A year after we got married, we discovered that my wife used to work for my cousin Charley and that her brother is the supervisor at the same workplace. So, later that night I called my cousin and he confirmed all of it for us. Continue reading
Orbs And Apparitions In My New House
Last week I saw something I never thought I would, even after years of living in a haunted house. I bought a brand new house in 1992 for this every reason – no more hauntings, apparitions and paranormal activity! I really never thought that my new house will become haunted too.
On February 9th, 2013, I was in the living room talking to my wife and I noticed that my three year old puppy, Peppermint, was standing in the kitchen looking up at the ceiling and wagging her tail. It seemed as if she was looking at something, or someone. I joked with my wife and said, “Look, Peppermint is looking at ghosts!” Peppermint was walking slowly, the way she usually does when she is approaching a person for the first time. Then suddenly she backed off really quick, but she did not bark. She was intrigued and cautious, but certainly not frightened. The scene reminded me of something I saw on a paranormal investigation TV show recently, so I followed my intuition and went to my computer room to grab my digital camera and my digital recorder. Paranormal Encounters At The Old White House
For some time my wife and I had been looking for a new home. Being psychic has always been helpful when one goes house hunting. Growing up in haunted home, I am always very cautious about the properties we consider. Experience has taught me that it is not always the house itself that is haunted – it can also be the land that the house is built on.
Currently we live in the countryside. Yes, we do have one traffic light, and yes, we do have a chicken stand. We wanted to look for something that would offer us a brand new beginning. We have gone through many realtors, of whom none had the patience for us to find the right house.
My wife eventually found a lady named Alice, from another town. When we met her, we told her we wanted a good size house with some land and an outbuilding to run a small business. I told Alice that I did psychic readings and when I walk into a house I could pick up on any spiritual energy that may be present. Our new realtor thought it cool that I had psychic gifts, and I told her it does help when looking for a house. Continue reading
