The Perils Of Mercury Square Neptune
As an astrologer, it is my job to get information across to my clients in a clear and concise way, that won’t leave them perplexed or confused.
But on occasion there is a clear and present danger. There are astrological aspects that can challenge astrologers, muddle our minds, drape us in a fog of uncertainty and confusion. Such a dreaded hazard is when Mercury square Neptune comes along and clouds our normal channels of communication.
When this mentally perilous aspect rolls around, it is time to switch channels and watch another station. If there is ever a time we must trust in our inner wisdom and knowledge, yet speak the messages that come through from higher places, then it would be when this square rides into town!
We endured a triple whammy of this the past three months, with Mercury squaring Neptune in May, June and July, on the back of one of the most chaotic Mercury Retrogrades in a very long time.
Yes, when the dreaded Mercury square Neptune arrives it howls like Johnny in The Shining, “I’m here…!” Under this astrological influence we’re on shaky ground when it comes communication and getting your message across. It’s usually really difficult to talk sense, let alone think in any sort of rational, logical, coherent, organized way.
Mercury is all about the mind, our thoughts, our reason. Mercury is all about ‘just give me the facts,’ while Neptune wants to infiltrate our thoughts, sink into the murky depths of the subconscious ocean, and expand outward with absolutely no borders to stop its movement from spilling out all over the place.
This Neptune intrusion is way too messy for the fussy Mercury, who likes its contents in small, neat, digestible, bite-sized files it can dissect and differentiate. But being a curious guy, Mercury ventures out anyway, despite the warning buoys signaling chaotic doom.
Astrology Forecast July 19 – 25, 2021
We are certainly in for a busy parade of astrological events this week! Venus moves into Virgo on Wednesday, the Sun enters Leo on Thursday, and the Moon waxes full in Aquarius on Friday. So, basically, this week is a triple-header!
However, before the shifts occur later this week, we’ll need to embrace the purpose-filled energy of today’s Scorpio Moon, attending to loose ends and unfinished business that may have been on the back burner for the last few weeks. It is important that we do this in order to to clear a space for new energies to come in later this week.
So, we could end up working late today, or find ourselves having to delegate to get everything on our to-do list completed. But be patient and courteous with coworkers and employees, because the Scorpio Moon square Mars in Leo can cause us to us be hurried, irritable, and difficult to please.
Tomorrow’s Sagittarius Moon will cast a more light-hearted, spirited energy, making harmony and fun an underlying theme as we begin to move forward. Venus will also move out of fanciful Leo and into more grounded Virgo tomorrow, reminding us to be more altruistic and humanitarian in our attitude, and less self-focused for the next few weeks.
It will be easy to tell when the Sun moves into Leo on Thursday, as we begin to move into the final days of the season and start to sense a higher energy and purpose to our movements. For the next four weeks, a heart-centered tone will move us forward, evoking our generous sides and promoting greater self-love and self-care.
Friday’s Aquarius Full Moon arrives at the perfect time, as it promotes release and letting go of any ideas or mindsets that are holding us back. If we embrace this process and shift our thinking, it will be much easier to move into August with renewed hope, passion, and purpose.
The Moon in Aquarius will also make this a great weekend for fun, entertainment and social activities, so plan something crazy and exciting for Saturday!
Astrology Forecast July 12 – 18, 2021
Today’s Leo Moon will fill us with high spirits and a carefree attitude. The Moon’s conjunction with Venus in Leo may add a sentimental streak to our mood, while the conjunction with Mars in Leo adds some passion to the mix. However, be careful not to become temperamental or give in to moodiness. The optimism and lighthearted effervescence of Mercury in Cancer trine Jupiter in Pisces will fortunately help to counteract such negativity.
Tuesday and Wednesday’s Virgo Moon will inspire us to update our wardrobes, surroundings, and electronics, as it makes organizing and refreshing things a priority.
We can’t go wrong with a two-day ‘staycation’ under Thursday and Friday’s Libra Moon, which promotes balance, aesthetic awareness, and an open-minded attitude. You are likely to feel cheerful and spontaneous. It is the perfect time to socialize (safely and responsibly) and reconnect with loved ones.
Romance will also be a priority, so it might be a good idea to move the weekend’s date night up to Thursday evening. Surprise your partner with a romantic movie night or picnic under the stars. And if you are ready to propose then the Moon sextile Venus in Leo, in the early hours of Friday morning, creates the perfect opportunity for love, commitment and marriage.
Over the weekend the Moon drifts through Scorpio, reminding us that life is short and we should enjoy it to the fullest! We can leave chores behind and indulge in our favorite pastimes, as we honor our intuition and go with the flow. Beware however the potential for ‘Sunday blues’ with the Scorpio Moon square Saturn in Aquarius, which brings with it the energy of dissatisfaction and depression.
Psychic Reading With Ordinary Playing Cards
I do psychic readings using a normal deck of playing cards. Yes, the kind you buy at your grocery store. It is is actually the original form of oracle card reading.
Cartomancy as we know it today originated back in the 14th century, when playing cards were first introduced to the world. Some historians believe it might even date back to Ancient Egypt. Using an ordinary deck of cards was actually the most popular form of cartomancy for centuries, especially in Europe from the 18th to the 20th century.
Today divination using a standard deck of playing cards has sadly become the ‘little brother’ of the Tarot. These days people find it unusual if a psychic uses a regular deck of playing cards to do readings.
To give the most accurate readings, I use a specific approach when I use the cards. First of all, I tune in with my client’s energy and I make sure that I am connected with my spirit guides.
Also, if a client has had a bad day or if they are upset, it helps a lot if they clear their mind as much as possible before we start the reading. If a client is not feeling well, I usually recommend they hold off on the reading, because their energy is too low. Reading for someone in this state usually does not yield very good results.
Before you make a phone call for your next psychic reading, take three deep breaths and let them out very slowly. If you are having a bad day, take seven deep breaths and slowly let them out. You will be very surprised how much this will relieve your tension or your stress, before you make this phone call. You will also find that your reading experience is much more enjoyable and meaningful.
Can Anyone Read The Tarot?
During this past week alone, several people from different walks of life have asked me this very question. Yes, anyone can learn, but as some of my Tarot students have shown, it’s the passion you have for Tarot that makes the difference, and that can turn someone into a reader with a difference.
Tarot readings can be used for one’s personal growth only, or for doing readings for self and others. Often individuals learn the Tarot of their own volition, paying particular attention to its imagery and symbolism, as they develop their skill with practice, practice, and more practice.
Once they feel they can trust their higher self and their spirit guides, and feel they are being directed to the symbols and imagery in Tarot, which will kick start the required information to be revealed, they will be confident to do Tarot readings.
A good teacher or mentor will always encourage a student to be guided by the way the Tarot talks to them, and not just by learning ‘parrot fashion’ the many meanings each card may have.
It is the language of symbols which helps us more easily tune into the unconscious mind, especially when there is not always time available to spend many hours doing psychic development, and going within and meditating before a reading.
Many Tarot readers work with various spreads, or layouts, to help them answer specific questions and to define events, timing, important influences and important people in the questioner’s life. Tarot helps us find clarity as to the direction in which we are headed and even helps identify blocks which may lie ahead.
I have in my collection at least fifteen Tarot decks, but one or two would suffice for most people. I just love the way talented people have been able to bring Tarot to life in their own Tarot deck design, using their own imagery, shapes and color.
