The Tarot Is A Mystical Bridge To Spiritual Insight
Mysterious, symbolic and highly energetic, the Tarot is a high vibrational tool that can help us explore the deeper meaning behind the events of our daily lives, and the influence of Spirit in our earthly existence. The Tarot especially offers guidance in situations where may feel lost or confused, and it serves as a mystical bridge between our physical reality and the metaphysical realm. The cards have their own energy, a high vibrational frequency, which Spirit uses to communicate messages of guidance, encouragement, insight and caution.
Every Tarot reader has their own set of spiritual gifts and psychic abilities, and therefore we tend to each develop our own reading style accordingly. In my own readings, I find that Spirit most often seeks to illuminate areas in our lives where changes and healing may be needed, in order to bring about the most beneficial future outcomes. This can be anything from the need to shift one’s perspective, to the need to let go, or sometimes the need to simply accept things as they are.
Ultimately, I find Spirit uses the Tarot to get us ‘unstuck,’ so we get back in the flow. When we are in the flow, or in alignment, we are creating with the Universe, instead of creating resistance. Only then are we truly moving toward our highest good and the fulfillment of our greatest potential.
The Tarot is a conduit for communication with our guides and our higher self, through which we can gain a deeper understanding of the soul lessons and the magic happening in our lives.
From the physical ‘self’ perspective of the human ego, we often cannot see situations for what they really are. But our higher self understands the deeper meaning and purpose, and wants to lovingly guide us to a more joyful, peaceful and fulfilling existence.
Sometimes we can be very resistant when unwanted events shake up our lives. Typically, when difficulties arise, we get swept up in the drama of the situation, and allow ourselves to act from this highly-charged emotional state. In such times of trial, we can use the Tarot to take a step back and look at the situation from a wider lens, and receive guidance on the matter directly from Spirit.
Astrological Forecast November 9 – 15, 2020
Mars will turn direct this Friday, after a retrograde cycle of two months, and we’ll begin to feel forward movement once again. It’s time to focus on our personal lives with more determined action, and with the Moon in Virgo on Monday and Tuesday, we’ll be able to focus on the details and make solid plans for future movement.
Expect some challenges with emotional balancing on Wednesday and Thursday under the Libra Moon, followed by a spiritually karmic Moon in Scorpio over the weekend. What’s done is done, what’s been decided is decided, and we’ll all want to go within on Friday and Saturday, to regroup and find our center.
A Scorpio New Moon occurs on Saturday, opening up a two-week cycle of new beginnings and fresh starts, primarily on a soul level. The things we’ve been learning about ourselves, as the Sun has been traveling through Scorpio, will now turn our focus to the future and doing things differently, and with more freedom of movement, and conviction of heart. Sunday’s Sagittarius Moon will encourage a lighthearted day, so take things easy and have some fun!
Astrological Forecast November 2 – 8, 2020
The big event this week is Mercury turning direct tomorrow, coinciding with the United States presidential election day. It could potentially influence the election process in a negative way, for example by slowing down or complicating the counting process with technical issues, or causing miscommunication and delays with the results. With a Gemini Moon overhead from Monday to Wednesday, there will many rumors and a lot of speculation about the final outcome. And globally, there may also be speculation about the effects certain world events are having on the economy in general.
On a personal level, we may find it impossible to move in any tangible direction this week. Mercury rules Gemini, so we can expect this week to be filled with confusing conversations and a lot of conjecture in an attempt to gather the information we need to make important decisions about our future and how to move forward.
The Moon will move into Cancer on Thursday, calling for us to pull back into our personal world, and attend the things that keep us safe, comfortable and secure. The weekend will unfold under a Leo Moon, restoring our sense of self and reminding us to share all our hopes and dreams with the world – or at least the people who make up our little world! Being proactive is a theme this weekend, so let’s all focus on getting what we need, and making sure those we love have what they need.
Astrological Forecast October 26 – November 1, 2020
As Halloween approaches, we’ll have two significant astrological events to move us through the week, beginning with Venus’ move into Libra on Tuesday, and culminating in a Hunter’s Full Moon in Taurus on Saturday. This rare second Full Moon in the same month is also known as a Blue Moon. Keep in mind that the Moon has an obvious effect on us as it waxes full this week, and in Taurus it will remind us to honor the beautiful things in our lives and appreciate all those who we share our worlds with.
With Mercury still retrograde, it’s important to pay attention to those mixed messages and use the Scorpio Sun to filter out what’s true and what’s merely an illusion. We may not get much done under Monday and Tuesday’s Pisces Moon, but that will shift on Wednesday and Thursday as the Moon charges through productive Aries. The weekend closes out under a Taurus Moon, calling for us to attend our most physical needs and financial balances. It could be a good time for a garage sale, as the full Moon promotes release, and the Scorpio Sun inspires ingenious ways to make a little extra money.
Once In A Blue Moon
The metaphysics for this month is subject to an astrological rarity. October 2020 features what is known as a Blue Moon, or a second Full Moon in the same calendar month. This month’s second Full Moon will take place next week, on October 31st, and is traditionally known as the Hunter’s Moon. It follows the Harvest Full Moon that took place on October 1st.
As you may have guessed, the phenomenon of the Blue Moon gave rise to the popular saying ‘once in a blue moon.’ It is used to refer to something that is unusual or special, or a rare event that seldom happens.
The origin of the term itself is unclear, but it has nothing to do with the actual color of the Moon. The earliest written record of the term ‘blue moon’ has been found in an 1528 pamphlet composed by two friars, William Roy and Jerome Barlow, in which they state, “Oh church men are wily foxes… If they say the moon is blue, we must believe that it is true.” It has since become part of pop culture and modern folklore, including being the namesake of popular songs and movies.
Astrologically speaking, two full moons in a month only takes place about seven times every nineteen years, due to the way the Moon’s orbital cycle does not line up exactly with calendars on Earth. It’s a rarity, for sure.
So, what can we expect during such a rare event?
Astrological Forecast October 19 – 25, 2020
The Sun will move into Scorpio on Thursday, joining with Mercury retrograde to call on us to review, revise and go deep within, to see where clearing or change is needed. Scorpio will add intensity to our spiritual movements over the next four weeks, reminding us to honor the intuitive and soulful messages that arise during this cycle.
A light-hearted and productive week arises as the Moon travels through Sagittarius on Monday and Tuesday, followed by an industrious Capricorn Moon through Thursday. The weekend unfolds under an Aquarius Moon, encouraging us to think outside the box,. Expect the unexpected and embrace the joyful unity you feel with all those around you. Friendship is the theme, so reach out to those important people who sustain your life and support your every effort.
Empower Yourself With A Tarot Meditation
The Tarot is so much more than just a method of fortunetelling. Tarot can be used as a tool for meditation just as much as it is an aid for divination.
For example, you can meditate on one of the cards in the Major Arcana, to connect with that specific card’s archetypal energy. Connecting with the card’s energy can not only help you find the answers you need, but more profoundly it can also invite that energy into our life.
Every archetype can awaken within us certain a type of personal power. The Magician can inspire us to become more quick on our feet, as he is mercurial in nature. The High Priestess connects us more deeply with our intuition and higher self. The Tower can bring an immediate closure to a negative situation we cannot stand anymore, and so on.
Let’s focus on The Empress card with a more detailed analysis, to demonstrate how we can utilize her in meditation.
Symbolism Of The Empress
The Empress is the number 3 card in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. She is the archetypal queen and symbolizes all the riches of femininity. She is related to the planet Venus and the zodiac sign of Taurus, representing affectivity in all its fullness.
As an earthly partner of the Emperor, her archetype represents the earthly plane achievements and pleasures of the physical body, including motherhood. There is also a connection between the Divine Feminine or Divine Mother archetype, represented by this card, and the Earth as Gaia, our nurturing mother.
