Natural Law
Natural Law is a term that is used for so many different descriptions and is actually ambiguous. It can be the law of nature; a philosophical law related to ethics and morality, or many other laws where rules are applied.
Greek philosophers, such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, specifically distinguished between the law of the land and the law of nature. The law of the land was specific to the cities, districts and government whereas the Law of Nature is the same everywhere.
In physics one might even say that the Law of Gravity is a Natural Law, as it exists everywhere on the planet and throughout time. Technology has advanced such that we are able to influence gravity, yet we have not changed the inherent Law of Gravity. Continue reading
Stuck? Time To Clear The Clutter!
My life is running in reverse right now – or so it seems. My energy is low and it is affecting my health. I took the time to sit today and ask my guides, “What am I missing here? I have been doing what you asked, helping others, being there for those that need me and working towards my goals and my highest good. Why are these things hitting me right now to knock me down again?”
The answer I received was eye opening and so simple. “Sheri, it is time to clear the clutter, so you can move forward again.”
Clutter is one of those things that can hold us back, that can take us in reverse, or just put a wall up in front of us, so we don’t achieve our true higher potential. Continue reading
Rid Yourself Of Psychic ‘Junk’
Anyone who lives in a big city knows that space is at a premium these days. And that’s just elbow room. We seldom talk about our psychic space, which is constantly being bombarded. How in the world do we protect ourselves?
First and foremost, you need to have healthy boundaries. Each of us needs and deserves to have a safe place, a sense of self-worth, and protection from others. Think about what happens to a beach that is battered constantly by waves. It will wear down and eventually disappear. If you don’t have boundaries, your very identity will be like those grains of sand.
Learning to connect back to the Earth and nature is essential to our well-being. This can be as simple as walking without shoes in a natural space, or by keeping plants in your living space. When we are separate from our natural selves, we lose perhaps the most important part of our soul. By walking in nature, you are literally reconnecting. Like a lightning bolt discharging energy when it strikes solid ground, you are releasing all the negative energies that accumulate in your body. Take a friend, or walk your dog if you have one. Magical Thinking
Magical thinking is a common trait found among all children all over the world, between the ages of approximately two until seven years of age. This time frame is also known as the ‘pre-operational stage’ of child development and it is the period in our early life when we increasingly explore our environment, and gradually learn to distinguish between ‘fantasy’ and ‘reality’.
Children at this age initially have all kinds of imaginative ideas and magical interpretations of the world, in order to make sense of their external and internal reality. At this age we still believe that we can grow wings and learn to fly; or that animals can talk and sing; or that our shadow is a magical person following us around; or that the Sun goes to sleep in the ocean; that there is a man living in the Moon; or that the wind, the clouds and the trees notice us and obey our instructions. We often also have ‘imaginary friends’ at this age. Continue reading
Just Let it Go
Can you imagine how wretched you would feel if you kept trying to wear a pair of shoes at age 30 that fit you when you were 6? The pain would be unimaginable, excruciating and intense. You would cripple yourself and in all likelihood be unable to walk, be unable to move.
But you wouldn’t do that, right? That doesn’t make any sense, you say. Well, of course it doesn’t make any sense. And of course you’d never try to do that, because they wouldn’t fit you anymore!
At certain times in our lives it becomes really important to acknowledge that something or someone just doesn’t fit us anymore.
Is a person any different from a pair of shoes in this context? Of course not. Yet so often we keep on trying to make a person fit into our lives. We bend ourselves out of shape, trying so hard to make this person fit, when in fact their time, just like the old pair of shoes, has by now long come and gone. Continue reading
