Let It Be, Let it Go…
I know a few friends who feel they have to control everything. They are seldom happy. Always frazzled. They seem to have this constant air of uptightness and anxiousness about them.
Do you know anyone like this? Often times, when doing readings for people who have control issues, there is a song that usually comes to mind for me: Let It Be by John Lennon and The Beatles. It is a wonderful song that talks about letting things just be and go where they are supposed to.
I have found that people that feel they have to have everything a certain way, who try to dominate how things are going to be, have so much unnecessary distress in their lives. People who instead just go with the flow, and allow life happen as it will, generally are more serene and often even seem to be in a state of bliss. Continue reading
Would You Rather Be Right, Or Happy?
A recent unethical experience with a large company prompted me to ask a few people from various walks of life if they would rather be right, or happy? Most, including my husband, said they would definitely prefer to be right! The unpleasant incident caused me stress and considerable expense, but in the end, I’m glad I chose the latter – to be happy.
I purchased a power generator with a twenty hour backup at an ultimate cost of about $2,300 dollars, including installation and subsequent lawyer fees. I dealt with a salesperson at the retail outlet who told me the unit was too simple to warrant them installing it, and that if I could use a laptop, I could install the unit myself by following the instructions on a compact disc. Nobody Deserves To Be Happy!
Many self-help gurus will espouse the virtues, the sheer righteousness if you will, of deserving to be happy. You deserve to be happy? What does this truly even mean? (meant to be read in a most sarcastic tone of voice with a slight touch of incredulity thrown in for good measure).
I take umbrage, I cry foul to this so called deservedness. What makes you so special? For that matter, what makes me so special? None of us deserve to be happy any more so than the next guy or girl.
People, living breathing people, are being subjected to atrocities all over our planet in ways that some of us cannot even bear to think about, because we’d never sleep cozy in our beds at night if we did. Aren’t these people deserving of this ‘happiness’ also? They often times don’t experience it, because of someone else’s pursuit of happiness. Continue reading
Not Everyone Chooses The Path Of Healing – Part 1
You must have heard the saying, “what they don’t know can’t hurt them?” Well, sometimes that can be very true, but sometimes what one doesn’t know can in fact hurt one.
We have all tried at one time or another to help someone close to us, because we wanted to do something nice for them. People with gifts to see, hear and feel will know what I’m speaking of here. Of course, we can’t just go up to someone randomly if we had decided to stay ‘tuned in’ when we are out and about. It is usually at these times that the urge to approach or assist may come up. I have an abundance of energy and feel it not necessary to turn off my psychic abilities, for example when I am just quickly running down to the grocery store, or stopping at the library. Simple Ways To Restore Daily Balance
Every day, I try to find balance in my life and put it into action, but sometimes it is hard to do. And sometimes it’s hard to see the whole picture of what you’re wanting to do, to have that sense of happiness and well-being in your life.
I find what works best to get me back on track is to center myself mentally first, before I take on any of the daily challenges of life. I admit that I often need a pop of the good old caffeine to get my mind and body going in the morning, but experience has taught me it is much more constructive to focus on something positive at that time. Once you start looking for alternatives to get your mind going, you will be surprised at how many things are easily available for this purpose. Continue reading
How To Heal A Broken Heart
It can be very difficult to heal from a broken heart. It is no accident that there are so many sad songs written about lost love, and so many stories in magazines and on talk shows about failed love relationships. Many self-help experts proclaim they have the true answer to how to heal a broken heart.
I know from personal experience that it can be one of the hardest things in life to understand and overcome. When I had my heart broken, I used music in healing process, because I could relate what the song was about. Some people prefer to write in a diary to process their thoughts and feelings; sometimes they even write a letter to the former lover to get a few things off their chest. Continue reading
