Your Life Can Be So Much More Beautiful…
If I told you that your life could be beautiful and filled with joy every single moment of the day, every day of the year, would you believe me? Probably not. You’d be correct. Nothing is 100% perfect all the time. But what if I told you that there are a few things you could try that has worked for me to help manifest a much more peaceful, harmonious and drama-free life? Would you be willing to give them a try? If so, then I encourage you to keep reading.
The strategies below have stripped most of the stress from my life, and made me much more relaxed and able to enjoy special times, and create special memories, with those that mean the most to me. Remember those moments are fleeting. Don’t allow them to slip away from you, because you were too focused on things that, if you look at it carefully, not that important at all!
How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve their world ~ Anne Frank
Slow down. Remember to not overload your schedule. You don’t have to accomplish every single thing this red, hot minute. Many people feel like they have to go, go, go and do, do, do. Learn to prioritize and slow down.
Stop worrying. Don’t obsess over what other people may think. Most of the things we worry about never actually happen. Focus on what matters most, and forget the rest.
Turn it off. Silence the ringer on your phone, unplug your devices. Don’t let modern technology rule your life and steal away those special moments with your family and friend. You do not have to be connected and online 24/7. Let technology work for you, instead of control you.
Customize social media. There have been reports about how social media makes people depressed. I have customized mine, so that when I log in I see only my family’s news feeds and pages. For everyone else I have to literally go to their pages if I feel the need to make contact. I am following no one. It really makes a difference and makes it easier for me to focus that energy on the people and things that really matter to me in my life. You have options, use them.
Decide what matters. Recognize what is really most important to you. We live in a world full of distractions, full of things that aim to keep us unfocused, disconnected from what really matters. Therefore, many feel unbalanced, unorganized, frazzled and negative. Technology can either help to simplify or can add a lot of clutter to our lives.
Many people die with their music still in them. Why is this so? Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live. Before they know it, time runs out ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes
Keeping our priorities in check can add so much freedom and joy to our daily lives. By not over-burdening ourselves we can enjoy spending time with those that most deserve our attention. The phone and the computer are two of things that I have put on the back-burner in my life. I do get to them eventually, when it suits me. And every time I discover that the world carried on just fine without me.
Staying connected to God, family, close friends, and the things that matter most to me, is what makes me feel like my life is beautiful, simplified, blessed and happy. This can work for you too, but you have to be willing to recognize that those superficial things you are feeling so religiously connected to… you really could do and live without. It all in focusing on what matters most. Your loved ones will thank you for it.
