I have spent much of my life studying spirituality and metaphysics. In recent years, I have invested most of my free time engaged in Hermetic studies. The word ‘Hermetic’ dates back to the legend of the Egyptian god Thoth, the Greek god Hermes and the syncretic combination of the two known as Hermes Trismegistus, the purported author of the Hermetic Corpus . Thoth was an expert in arts and sciences ranging from philosophy to astrology.
The more I learn, the more I receive confirmation that we are part of something much greater than our individuality. If you have worked or studied with me, you will know about my belief that everything in life is synchronistically orchestrated. Read the rest of this entry »
Generally people are mostly familiar with conventional hypnosis, the kind which conjures up images of advertisements for weight loss and to stop smoking, as well as the entertainment version of volunteers running around on stage, performing all manner of antics. For the stage variety, the volunteer will be in a deep state of relaxation, having bypassed the highly critical conscious mind and will have thrown all inhibitions to the wind.
In Holistic Hypnosis, a practitioner relaxes their subject into what is known as the Beta state, assisting them to put to one side their critical conscious mind. Faulty patterning, causing deep seated fears, phobias and depression can respond well to a course of sessions. For the subject, it’s a matter of allowing themselves to be reprogrammed, and consent to the treatment as a means of bringing their being back to its natural healthy state in body, mind and spirit. We have to actuate what we learn. Talking is not becoming. We need to apply what we learn and know. Just like we know how to diet and exercise, it does not do us much good unless we apply what we know.
We all have a Higher Self that is connected to Source. Teachers, gurus, meditation, are all tools that we use to bypass the Mind in order to speak to our Higher Self, our Soul Energy. They are tools that create a pathway for Soul to have a voice, the dominant voice, in our day to day life. It is what Einstein was referring to when he said we cannot possibly solve a problem with the same mind that created the problem. We shift consciousness to access our Higher Self. It’s a fact of life that friends sometimes do not see eye to eye or have misunderstandings that are not intentional, but still break the hearts of those involved. I recently have had one of those experiences. All of us are at different place in our lives at times, friends are there to support friends, but what happens when both friends are not in the place to help each other at all. We can listen, but have no meaningful words or helpful advice to give to one another.
It’s rare to find a friend whose spiritual connection goes back through the ages to a time where magic was the norm, and functioning in this life and this body seems dense and distracting. It’s difficult to keep a foot in both worlds and many times we forget about the magic just to survive in this lifetime. Read the rest of this entry »
I am a psychic, an artist, and a writer. I paint abstract landscapes in oils. My muse is nature, and my current series emphasizes the details of plant and flower life that we often miss because we’re so busy with daily life.
While I’m in the process of painting, providing psychic readings or writing, nothing else exists. It’s like an oasis in the maelstrom of life. I’m not thinking about paying the bills or laundry or what I’m going to eat for dinner. I am one with my creation and everything is perfect and peaceful. My mind is clear and my body is weightless. I feel a greater presence of Universal energy and I am part of it.
When I return to the mundane activities of life, I am refreshed, renewed and I actually approach tasks with more energy and efficiency. Making art is truly a spiritual experience for me. Read the rest of this entry »
Over the last few years I have witnessed a change in relationships in only a brief amount of time. It seems with social networking tools being used, people have gotten themselves into lots of bad situations. With stories such as this abounding : He added me and did not email, he then added a female friend, then blocked me, then I went in under a false account etc’ ( these are the stories I hear ). I have seen numerous complications arise. People look more popular than they are. I have known people with 300 friend plus lists sit in front of the PC all day. You could look for me on these sites, except I am not there anymore. I probably am missing out on business but…people can buy friends, and this is used to sway opinion and business all the time. In the study of Spiritualism, there are many words coined to cover conditions and manifestations out of the ordinary. Following are words and definitions of many of them:
1. Mediumship – The ability of human instruments to attune themselves to the vibrations of the spirit people and through peculiar chemical properties of their physical bodies to produce ectoplasm necessary for the manifestation of physical phenomena.
2. Clairvoyance – Clear seeing; soul seeing; lucidity; the ability to see with the spiritual eye those who have made the change called death and to see their names, messages and symbols written out in the ether. Read the rest of this entry »
As a voluntary researcher and experimenter in my field I am often faced with the most interesting unanswered questions – the most pressing one being: what defines a good connection with someone? Sometimes the answer is presence. This sense of feeling ‘present’ – alive – is what can sharply define a relationship to its point of success or failure. I don’t mean to bring in the idea of consciousness – but the much finer aspect of someone being aware of ‘mindful’. This can mean they are mindful of themselves – you – your feelings – or even their footsteps in the moment.
Mindfulness is an ancient idea that has been popularized through the resurgence of Yoga and meditation. This form of meditation calls for the person to be present in the moment, aware of breath and thought. This is an art form – a special awareness – a discipline and power. It is much more challenging to implement than other forms of meditation in a sense, as we are inundated by messages from various cultures, personalities and marketing strategies. Even the idea of being not being mindful has been marketed. You will see this in all of the advertising that asks you to do something or act upon something ‘now’. So what is that actual value of mindfulness and its connection to empathy or telepathy? Read the rest of this entry »
