The First Chakra
Chakra literally means “wheel” or “circle of light.”
The first chakra, or Muladhara, is located in the coccygeal region at the base of the spine where we sit. It is symbolized by a four petaled red lotus flower.
The animal totem of the first chakra is the elephant. The musical note that resonates with this chakra is C. It is considered the root chakra.
The color of the root chakra is red. It rules the feet, legs, anus, hips, bowels and bladder.
Foods to stimulate the first chakra include beets, strawberries, raspberries, cherries.

Forgiveness Meditation
As difficult as it is to forgive, remember that forgiveness is about freeing yourself. Freeing yourself from pain, anger, fear and attachment to unhealthy people and situations, is vital on our journey to enlightenment.
The following is a powerful forgiveness meditation I created for my Kundalini yoga classes. My clients who have done this meditation have told me that they felt lighter, as if an emotional weight had fallen off of them. Many have said the next time they saw someone they had resentment toward, they felt like crying, hugging them or telling them they had forgiven them.
1. Sit in the easy pose (on the ground, legs bent, spine straight).

Would Turning Your Fantasy Into Reality Be Wise?
How many thoughts do we have per day? Nobody seems to know for sure and the experts don’t agree, but they all seem to concur that it is ranges somewhere in the thousands. We also have many daydreams and fantasies that cross our minds on a daily basis.
Many of these thoughts and daydreams we would never share with our mates, friends, or family. Many of us never act on our fantasies, for various obvious reasons: we want to stay married, or we want to stay in the same job, or we fear failure should we attempt something new and different. Some of us may even fear that we could end up behind bars in extreme cases. Continue reading
