Text Messages From God – Part 1
I love to meditate, I do it often. It’s one of my favorite pass times. I also like to set an intention before meditating. This afternoon my intention was to get a ‘text message’ from God, or rather an answer from God to a certain question.
My intention was to find out why Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is on the increase in our society. It’s uncanny. These day I’m even hearing how teachers are being diagnosed with ADD, as well adults from all walks of life. I wanted to know why there seems to be such a prevalence of this disorder going on, including an array of prescription drugs to medicate it with. It just makes me sad, because I personally feel it’s a symptom of our toxic, information-overloaded society.

After my meditation was over, with pencil and paper nearby, I had my answers. I was good about writing down some answers that came through! Here is what I received:
1. Sleep can easily repair the mind.
2. People don’t know how to quiet the mind very much anymore.
3. Lack of exercise.
So, from the answers I wrote down, I was given the information I needed to confirm what I already intuitively sensed. People are over-working themselves, they are not allowing their minds time to relax. Constantly being in front of the computer keeps them from getting a restful night’s sleep.
Instead of pouring toxic chemicals into our body, which often has a negative domino effect on our bodies and brains, we should be sleeping to receive the proper chemicals from our own bodies and brains to help heal us. It’s very simple. Yet, we have made it so complicated.
Exercise is also a source of calm and well-being. When you exercise you get the proper amount of chemicals from your brain, like endorphins, to balance brain chemistry that combined with sleep helps greatly.

So my text message from God in a nutshell: Attention Deficit Disorder can be improved through adequate sleep helps, regular exercise and mindful meditation. I am not a medical expert and do not claim to have all the answers, but I do believe the remedy is just this simple.
During my meditation I saw a vision of a simpler time, where there were no computers and people communicated more, and were less stressed. And then I saw today’s society, overloaded with information and technology, with people feeling like they have to go, go, go and do, do, do!
For me, I think I will just take a power nap and meditate, I get more done that way and I am much happier, healthier person. I am less agitated than those I know that never do that. So, when you feel anxiety, a lack of focus, or an inability to concentrate… take a nap, meditate or go for a walk. I liked this text message from God.
